I'd like to thank everyone involved with this film. I just stumbled across it on Prime and am SO grateful that I did. This film has restored my faith in the cinema industry. I had made up my mind that there was no hope left that I would ever again see a fresh, intriguing, beautifully written & masterfully produced dramatic AND romantic film. It took an old subject and theme, and created a totally new, thought provoking approach. The story was fabulous and the acting was ... inspiring. I was sucked in right from the start and left wanting more at the finish. What more could anyone ask for in a film. Yes ... I was entertained.

Seems like there are quite a lot of people out there (with a conscience) that quickly judged this production as peddling on the worst of human nature. You/we are absolutely right. But we all did exactly the same thing. Watched it thinking it would, at some point, redeem itself. But here's the rub ... the series did exactly what the deranged producers wanted. We watched. This show did the same thing Fear Factor did. Start out with above board, realistic expectations and then drag down the audience with depravity. Once you accept theft as "part of the game", murder is no longer outside the realm of possibilities. Not that the network would allow this ... no, no, no. But they would have the audience boiling over with enough range where they would have cheered it on as righteous vengeance, were it to actually happen. This is exactly how we are manipulated today in the "real" world. But is it? This is how easily we humans can be manipulated. Horrific show.

This is just another in a long line of ongoing series of "documentaries", that take an interesting subject matter, and drag it out into a multi episode reality/drama, in order to produce a ratings generator. Everything of value and all the actual relevant information that was provided could have been put together in a single, one hour episode. All of the personal drama interviews and theories were of no value to the story and added nothing to the show. And for viewers going into the story already knowing the final outcome, being shown all the crying, yelling, speculation and opinions, did nothing to enhance the quest for knowledge.

You mean to tell me that in the entirety of Germany, you could not find "ANY" actual Germans to take on the task of acting in this (obvious) British film. Right off the bat, it struck me that "everybody" has a British accent. So, are we to assume that all these actors are actually native Germans that grew up in England? And either never spoke German or were told to speak English with English accents? Exactly how are we supposed to garner the flavor of the German perspective of this famous film if everybody in it not only spoke English, but English in perfect British accents? You know, this is 2022. I'm sure there are plenty of Germans that would have loved to take on this challenge. Also, there is such a think as subtitles, should the directors and producers elect to do the damn thing correctly.

I gave this 2 stars only because I like Danny but he can do WAY better than this. This film was bad in so many ways that it's pointless to elaborate. Please Danny ... don't make any more movies like this. I would love to see you make more serious action/adventure films and dramatic roles as well. You are better than this ese.

I've watched a lot of Asian (yes, I said Asian) movies in my life and I've got some questions. Using this film as a representation of most Asian quality films: 1.) Do the Asian viewers look at this and accept it as standard quality or do they think it's great? 2.) Does casting a big name American make it better? If Bruce's character had been played by an oriental man, would that have made the film better? 3.) Does the Asian viewer market find the copying of American situational scenes and cycling through of every moral situation possible believable? 4.) Do Asian people really behave as depicted or is there a distinct difference between film acting and actual living behavior? 5.) Is the film better/different in native language? This "movie" was horrible, corny beyond description and just another work that brings the Asian film industry and it's worldview into continuing question. Finally, ... Bruce! What the hell's wrong with you man!?!?

Was this what a good movie looked like in Africa in 2012? If so then ... it was great! I have to wonder (in that case) if it's gotten any better in 2021? Guess I've been so spoiled with American crappy movies that my expectations have been skewed. Perhaps the two cultures are permanently unique.

One of the best movies I have seen in quite a long time. Telling a story about an episode in history (and the characters involved) of which I never knew. I am ever so grateful that it's creators took on the commitment of providing us with this heartfelt labor of love and the revelation and complexities of the human spirit. My wife and I thank all concerned. Neither of us will ever forget it. The challenge now will be for someone to best it.

Other than that, this was the most depressing, exasperating and sorrowful movies I've seen in a long time. I would rather sit through the Exorcist again than have to watch this movie again. The cast, script and production was good insofar as making the story realistic. Too good ... too bad. But you know ... at this time in our history, I want to see some uplifting and happy stories for a change. This movie just made me angry. Period.

Crappy film. Actors were good ... By and large. Depp is a WAY better actor then this character called for. Plot was bad but the film did portray life and people of PR accurately. The few scenic areas of the island are just a bit of makeup for a very ugly and poverty ridden place. The American representative characters were your standard "make all Americans look like crap" depiction. However, in reality, there's plenty of a-holery to go around. Life on PR is basically analogous to an island reservation when it comes to the level of alcoholism present. There would have been some socially redeeming value to the film, had this aspect of anglo v latin life been portrayed. Instead, the entire film was nothing more than an exercise in negativity and stupidity.

Terrible acting by just about the whole cast. Script was a rehash of every rape/abduction film ever done. No one "sold it" except Kiefer Sutherland. Fields and her youngest daughter didn't do anything that made sense or believable. Ed Harris (one of my favorite actors) should never have made this film. Way beneath his abilities. Stiff drama by everyone. I could go on but you get the idea. Painful to watch.

A lot of horrible reviews here. I don't know what all those people were expecting. It's a teen flick. I knew this going in. Therefore, my expectations were zero. Actually, Sub-Zero. That way, anything better than that is gravy. The script was definitely not academy award material. As expected. The acting was sophomoric, at best. But it was clean, decent and free of non-stop profanity and gratuitous, pointless sex. Mildly heavy on social virtue signalling but, these days, what progressive produced movies aren't? You know ... everything is ok. I would not normally go out of my way to watch this genre of film but I was not terribly disappointed by taking the chance on this one.

This whole show seemed staged to me. The theories posited are totally misleading and fabricated. Either you have facts or you don't. I don't appreciate all the hyped drama. All that drama accomplishes is further discrediting modern academia's already stained record of making up crap and passing it off as fact. A skeleton was found. Some deductions of condition were made. That's it. That's all they've got. All the supposition as to what a girl, 13,000 years ago, did in her life and what events unfolded is so misleading that it should be a crime to be allowed.

Other than the space scenes, there was no redeeming qualities about this movie. The storyline was a good idea but the script, bad acting (not the actors themselves) and extremely faux drama just shot any chance for believability all to hell. And the over-the-top (non-stop) morose music made the whole experience almost unbearable. It's almost as if an eight year old wrote and produced it. Please don't ever do this again.
