A ridiculous movie, but its cinematography is pretty good. You can literally skip the first 30 minutes, as nothing happens until you enter the dragon pit.
I guess it's some B-director's pet project that they jumbled together, but the movie benefits from them just going for it, they don't try and explain everything in excruciating detail, so its a fun ride once it gets going.
Flaming bats were kind of cool. Glow slugs are fun. It has a charm not unlike that of the really early mid-evil fantasy movies.
All in all, its not that great, but its good to see a fantasy movie try and strike out on its own out of nowhere. Too many books/shows/movies are all trying to go for super serious fantasy, but not everything can be Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones.
