Better than I expected
22 October 2020
I had high hopes but low expectations for this movie. I love Rachel McAdams and Will Ferrell, but sometimes movies like this can go to far. I'll admit to not being a big fan of the fake accents throughout, but I got over it. In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and had many laughs. The over-the-top elements were perfectly dispersed and fit well with the theme. As an American who has lived in Holland for the past fifteen years and grown to enjoy watching Eurovision every year, I loved it!

Easy to watch family holiday movie
22 November 2018
We watched this as we let out thanksgiving meal settle. It was the perfect choice for the kids (age range 5-12) and the parents. The acting was fine and the jokes were funny. I even got a little choked up at times when they talked about their recently deceased dad. All in all, a fine film. Probably not an instant classic, but good enough to watch and not feel like I wasted 1.5 hours of my life. I loved the new interpretation of elves as almost gremlin-like creatures.
