Jawan (2023)

Fake movie made for low class audience

A bland movie. Is this film made by a director or a makeup artist? Fake action scenes & I don't know why the south directors are obsessed with slow motion because there was too much of slow motion going onscreen.

I don't know where the future of bollywood is going if these types of movies are making tons of money.

Our lead & his team solve major problems so easily like it's a child play. The director has watched money heist & made it in a typical Indian fashion for the general audience who doesn't like to use their brain while watching a film.

The performances are also average & over the top.

SRK, yes, a nice personality in real life but he surely can't act & this film proves it. Nyanthara was trying hard not to laugh in every single scene & the all girls cast was extremely forgettable. The only performance I enjoy was of Vijay Sethupati, at least he made me laugh intentionally in most of the scenes he was in.

At last, people should stop overhyping & overrating these type of films.

Good casting but an extremely average show & just stop giving unnecessary love to anything Raj & DK does. There previous shows were also fine & not something outstanding or out of the park!

I also have this one problem with any show they both do be it Farzi or The family man that whenever the characters use abusive language it seems & feels unnatural & sometimes unnecessary (just like Satish Kaushik's character in this or Srikant Tiwari in TFM). No I do not have any problem with the use of abusive language but the makers have to make sure that it should seem natural & not just "cool" by today's OTT standards.

Also there is some unnecessary love story between students. The dialogues were also meh & no nobody talks like that in real life.

The plus points are the use of BGM & casting.

Overall you can skip it & you'll miss nothing or watch it if you have nothing else to watch but it is almost impossible when there is so much other content around all the OTT platforms.

The Key to save movie theatres is Tom Cruise

And I am saying that in every possible way. Tom Cruise. The man did it again. Saved movies & theatres. It felt so good finally watching a real movie after so many generic passable cgi fest for what they call a film nowadays.

Everything's good. The action, the cast, the music & all. Watching the IMF team once again in a frame together did put a smile on my face.

The movie was breathtakingly beautiful. Go for the experience. Go to watch some terrific action sequences put on the big screen. And finally go for the love of cinema again.

Thanks & eagerly waiting for part 2 to experience it all again for one last time in a theatre.

Pathaan (2023)

A Parody of Action Films

This director have watched too many Hollywood action movies & tried to mixed it all up into one.

Every "big" action scene with green screen in the background seem funny. The hand to hand combat & gun fight scene in the starting was quite good & the hand to hand combat scene in the train was going great until Salman came out of nowhere & started killing bad guys with his scarf & then they both defies the laws of physics when the train crashes.

The whole movie felt like I was watching a sasti 'Mission Impossible', & then fast & furious, then it turned into some generic biological weapon film & at last it turned into 'Emergency Declaration' (2021).

I'm no hater but SRK continues to do his goat like acting here. Action doesn't suit Deepika Padukone at all & I remember laughing so hard in the scene where she came out skating on the ice. Ashutosh Rana & Dimple Kapadia did an okay job for what was given to them. The only saving grace was John Abraham who carried a subtle but evil like persona in the whole film. And how can I forgot the extras that were unintentionally hilarious.

Positives : Hand to hand fight scenes & John Abraham as Jim.

Everything else was just meh.

Overall there was nothing to hype about in this. I'm giving an extra star for trying.

Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)

Modern Masterpiece

Visually stunning, emotionally strong with great action & music that is what Avatar 2 for me. Finally the year is ending by this amazing film I was excited about.

Strong characters, good storyline, epic visuals, amazing music, great message especially about nature, species & family ( & no this film will not give you any lecture on any of it so relax!) all in all a beautiful film directed by the master of cinema James Cameron.

Especially the characters are all amazing & different loved all of them, my favourite one become Jake's younger son Lo'ak as I got really connected with him more & as for the antagonist you'll gonna hate him slowly which is a good thing.

Recommended to watch it with your whole family for a better experience emotionally & they'll thank you as well as you'll thank them all.

Overall a great cinematic experience. Thanks for each & everyone involved in this film.

Monica, O My Darling (2022)

Overlong & Overrated

A very average movie overrated by the people with poor taste in thrillers. The problem with being overlong is that it gets so predictable & thus uninteresting.

Rajkumar Rao & Radhika Apte are the only saving grace of the film & they did a good job for what was expected from them. But i didn't understood why did the director chose to film this in a retro manner with overuse of background songs, i guess just to appear it different?! Because there was absolutely no point of that & it made the movie overlong.

Some of the characters talk in english & I don't know if i was watching a hindi movie or something else & sometimes they talk so slow that you don't even know what they are saying, maybe it's cos it seems "cool" to Netflix India?! Idk... In short, a very average adaptation of the original japanese film.

A person with good taste in thrillers can skip this easily & they'll not miss anything, Or might just watch an episode of crime patrol that can provide better thrills & twists than this.

Skip or watch only for the action scenes that are pretty good but the storyline is so poor, the dialogues were fillers, the comedy is lame & the leads have zero chemistry between them on screen.

The first action scene is quite amazing but after that you'll just want this to be over. Overall it's a pretty bad & below average movie.

Darlings (I) (2022)

An Average Film with some lazy writing in the climax

An average film that goes on for too long in the name of dark comedy. The acting was good from Vijay Verma but you can see Alia Bhatt overacts in some of her frames after an hour into the film.

An average bollywood film with the writer having no idea how to end the film & NO I'm not from 'Boycott Bollywood Gang' or something.

Prey (I) (2022)

An Awesome Predator Film

Finally a better predator movie after so many years. Full of gore, amazing visuals, atmospheric & the predator was so freakin' cool. Great work! The lead actress did a great job & two thumbs up for everyone involved in this including the dog who was amazing. Oh i wish i watched this in theatre for a better experience.

An extra star just cos' some of these haters are really giving it a 1 without even watching it.

Totally recommend if you wanna watch a bloody good predator film.

Now that's how you make an amazing crime thriller show while also connecting it with Indian mythology. Very good performances from everyone. The story & plot was simple but keeps you engaged & guessing throughout the running time. The music was also thrilling. It not only contains a better story but also delivers an important message too.

I binged watched it. Everyone did a great job & thumbs up to the entire team & everyone involved in this. Totally recommended.

The Batman (2022)

Cinematic Masterpiece

Enough of Marvel's friendly-neighborhood heroes with their childish movies & glittering VFX, please give us more movies like The Batman that are dark, gritty, violent & intense with grounded stories & characters.

Amazing work! Thank god someone is respecting cinema rather than just cashing in on their superhero genre. I'm keeping my stakes high on DC for particularly this type of movies.

Turning Red (2022)

This Movie Turned Me Red

Two minutes into the movie & i hated the lead girl & her friends already. They are the definition of typical 13-year old brats who think it is somehow cool to disobey your parents cos' they think they are "brainwashed" by the society.

What was the message here exactly?? To show the parents or family in a bad light who care the most about you?! Or to fantasize about boys being mermaids?! Or is it to use your powers to make some money for a concert?! I don't know & i surely don't think that it is to embrace who you truly are! And why do this woke Disney thinks that every 13 year old girl acts & thinks like that?! I have a 13 year old sister & thank god she do not acts like any of those brats & guess what she DID NOT liked the movie either.

Tell me Disney if I agree with her mom (for the most part until they intentionally tried to show that she's a big evil monster!) does that make me look bad or am I not included in your woke people's list? Lmao.. Never felt more annoyed after watching a kids movie. Just wake up "woke" disney & stop brainwashing kids by making them watch your woke trash.

Note to myself: Be aware at what your kid watches in the name of animation from now on.

Easily skippable (as it also does not have a proper plot & is predictable too). DO NOT recommended watching, especially with your kids.

Moon Knight (2022)

Started Good

I am not a fan of previous Disney+ Marvel shows because for me they were all pretty average but moonknight kept my interest in the first episode. The acting was really good especially from Oscar Issac. The visuals cinematography is also exciting with a good mix of mystery, thrill & horror.

Let's hope they don't mess it up like their previous shows. Looking forward to see more of this.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

High on VFX & Nostalgia

I tried to watch it after all the hype & yeah this is an enjoyable film but nowhere near the best Spiderman film. The storyline was as thin as paper & was extremely predictable. You can just summarize the whole plot in just 2 sentences. The acting was good mainly from the Dr. Strange & other supporting cast but Tom Holland's character came to the point when it became a really annoying high school kid. I mean he's trying to save everyone & let everyone forget about him but man he just can't shut up when something important was happening on screen.

The main drawbacks for me were the lackluster editing, the long runtime which made it somewhat extremely boring with the conversations & the humour was also at the same level as the other marvel movies - too childish & cheesy.

The biggest USP here are the previous characters in spiderman films we all grew up watching. I was really excited when they bring previous spideys especially Toby(who is my fav one) & Andrew Garfield was 'amazing'. Bringing back my other fav character from the MCU - Matt Murdock for a few seconds really seemed pointless to me. The antagonist from the previous films were great & so many but there was still not a proper one. Alfred Molina as Dr. Octavius really shines, Jamie Foxx as electro was looking hella cool (in a good way) & the other villians also played their part well but Willam Dafoe as green goblin steals the whole show & was the highlight for this one who should've been given more focus by the writer as per my view.

The special effects were obviously great but overused like the other marvel films & can give a headache to an adult or a mature viewer.

Overall this was a fun but predictable watch & not the best spiderman film for me as the Sam Raimi's one still holds the special place for me. If you're a teenager you obviously gonna love this & give this a 10 but for a more mature audience who is looking for great story & strong characters can look somewhere else.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

A Good Short Slasher Film

The reviews here make you seem like this is gonna be the worst horror movie you'll watch but it's not as I've worse movies than this. I don't know what these people were expecting but i got what i signed up for i.e., leatherface chopping off bunch of dumb people with his chainsaw.

Yes there are plot holes & some dumb decisions from characters which is obvious for horror movies. I think the only drawback was that the movie make you root for leatherface & you do not care about a single character. Still this is a good popcorn film. Not scary but fast paced with good gore.

This is not the worst texas chainsaw film I've watched. I'll recommend it if you're a slasher fan & looking for a short fun horror film. A solid 6 for me!

Fistful of Vengeance (2022)

This was so bad!

Okay i watched this only for Iko Uwais & to enjoy him again in action but the action was so dull & slow it felt like he was practicing or fighting with kids as the other cast & bad guys seem too slow & amateurish. The dialogues were fillers & too cheesy. The direction also was not very exciting. Overall this was just a bad watch. And Iko please don't turn yourself into a B-grade action movie star because we know from your previous films that you can do alot better than this.

All of Us Are Dead (2022– )

One Hell of A Show

This is gonna be one of the best show I've watched this year. The production, directing, characters, performances & everything else is truly superb. I have not binged watch many shows (except Daredevil & Squid Game) because they just don't hook me into them but i was hooked to my screen from the first 5 minutes of this show & binged watched it till the end.

Now the performances of every actor was great. I genuinely loved all of the friends, supporting cast & bad guys too. It also reminded me of my school days with some good memories in the first episode. I think this one got it all from being funny to make us emotional & yeah the zombies too that were great!

You know this one's underated when extremely below average & dumb Netflix shows like Money heist, Lupin etc., or the other Marvel's Disney+ Hotstar shows got above 90% on rotten tomatoes & shows like this got below 80%.

Overall a highly recommend show to binge watch with your friends or family (No unnecessary sex scenes or nudity) . Waiting for the next season.

Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 (2021)

Allu Arjun all the way

A very good watch with powerful acting from Allu Arjun from start to end. The storyline is average but the way director Sukumar handled it looked fresh & i never felt boring in this 3hr of a film. The supporting cast also did a good job & Fahad Fazil impresses & leave his mark at the end for the upcoming part.

Overall it's full on entertainment with powerful Allu Arjun performance all the way! 💥

Money Heist (2017–2021)

Overhyped Trash

I don't know what everyone else is smoking but this is just an average show for me with some very dumb writing. Yeah they look cool in that red hoodie & mask on but that's it! I don't even care about a single character in this mess of a series & that voiceover of Tokyo is annoying af. I watched season one by skipping through the most of its filler dialogues & however there is no sense of danger or the thrill.. didn't enjoyed it at all & can't find a single reason to watch anymore of this nonsense. I'm just being geniune by giving it a 3 star.

Hard Hit (2021)

A good remake of the Spanish film El desconocido (2015) with very good acting from the lead actor. The supporting cast was also decent in what they were given & I enjoyed the background music as well.

The only drawback is the villain's intentions which was not clear enough in the movie & some loopholes in the police part. Still a decent watch.

Malignant (I) (2021)

A very interesting & entertaining film from start to finish. It gets a little bit predictable in the middle but still have me confused & hooked till the end. An awesome & tight direction from James Wan made this an excellent watch with great visuals, acting & cinematography. 100% recommended if you want to watch an entertaining horror film without getting bored.

Dumbest Movie of The Year

This is an action/thriller (as per IMDB genre) without any action or thrill. For a film to be a dark comedy there should be comedy first and this is not even a decent comedy but just Dumb AF! Everyone in this film is either expressionless or just overacting. The lead guy literally looked like a mannequin with no expression on his face throughout the movie. The storyline is ok but again dumb, overlong and not suited for a comedy.

People giving this a positive rating have not watched any good dark comedy movie or they're just in the high for the south cinema.

Red Notice (2021)

Pure Fun

I had a great time watching it as it is exactly what i expected - entertaining, fun & fast paced with three very likable cast in the lead. Just don't think too much & go for the fun ride!
