Bel-Air (2022)
NOT the sitcom, no comedy but good use of the lore to get back to a known story
Yes, this is not the original sitcom. I don't think you have to approach this as a reboot or a remake but kind of an interpretation of what the story could have if it was more serious.
It's easy to get into as we already know every character, the major plot, etc. I like the variation and modifications made to every character (only watched 3 ep so far).
There's perhaps at times too much "stereotypicalization" going on, and a lousy approach to tacle racial issues
eg: in one scene :
"- I think the system worked exactly as intended
- hmm... yeah"
Overall it's nice, not flawless and the soundtrack is very good.
Extraction (2020)
Pleasantly surprised
Didn't have any expectations and yes the plot isn't that deep, but action scenes are pretty good with wide shots and no shaky camera or cut fest. There's also a one sequence action scene in there.
As another review mentioned it has a call of duty vibe, overall pretty good!
Van Helsing: No 'I' in Team (2019)
am I the only one who liked this ep ?
I pretty much don't care too about the main storyline since they put all this mythology with dark ones, elder etc. And having one episode that is more down to earth (as much as a show about vampires can be) is more refreshing than trying to advance a plot that pretty much has gone to s..t.
Episodes that are different like this one and are kind of like what we had in season 1 & 2 are what made me like the show in the first place
