Seumateuponeul tteoreotteuryeosseul ppuninde (2023)
Painfully annoying, unsatisfying, watchable.
The title is its goal. I believe that I was supposed to get mad at the incompetence of positive characters and feel like i could be playing one of their roles someday. Unfortunately while I did ger mad at them, rarely did I feel that the situation would've turned out this way.
Reasonably the characters would be more forceful and proactive as to resolve the situation rather than prolong it and one having an established strong will and hot head shouldn't really bow down and submit, in my most humble opinion. The movie masterfully dodges exploring themes of family or police procedurals in favor of dully speculating on surveillance by third parties like the official software don't do it already.
The villain just came off as a dork with no control over his own elaborate schemes operating on luck and spewing jigsaw style messages with even less substance. AND he doesn't even get what he deserves. Disappointing, but visually nice.
Killer Design (2022)
Shocker!
In short: The Room but actually well written and acted.
Barely familiar with David DeCoteau's work, I expected something lame, at best passing, at best of the worst comically awful, but it turned out to be neither!
Slow, cheap looking maybe, but written in a compelling, "human" way of just sort of blabbing off (not without hiccup, but mostly enjoyable), shot evenly and passively, but efficiently and sufficiently for the material, this movie SHINES with characters. People have reasonable worries and arguments, the main character is unreasonable, but within reason, and the villain is oh so villainous, noticeably poorly acting as a normal person, she just makes me so happy being so WEIRD and WRONG that I'm forgiving this movie everything else and still giving it 6/10, it's WORTH it, and I'm very very likely to see it again!
Thank you, David DeCoteau!
Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
Utterly awful
I saw this movie and laughed a damn lot. If you don't find it funny, stay away from me, thank you.
Marriage Story (2019)
Didn't cry once
It's a loooong story, feels longer than its runtime, but for once it's a good thing. Feels like being dragged through hell, and I get really angry at this kinda side of a relationship, so I got angry a lot and changed sides a couple times (not too much because I eat pizza just like Charlie).
Thank you movie for showing me how awful people are, and I mean I hated really every single character for a reason or twelve.
