Getaway (2013)
Full throttle entertainment. What 'Need For Speed' should have been.
I don't understand why this movie has received so many bad reviews, 'Getaway' is an action packed film from start to finish with an epic and nerve wrecking finale. Unlike other car films, this one stays clear from using CGI and sticks to practical car crashes and chases.
With a few subtle moments of humor to add, this film is worth much more praise than is given, so ignore negative reviews and give it a watch.
Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist (2005)
The Devil shows his boring side in Dominion.
I am a fan of Renny Harlin's 'Exorcist The Beginning' for good reason. It had scares, some terrifying moments and was entertaining. 'Dominion' on the other hand offers none of those things whatsoever.
To label this film as a horror is overdoing it, it's a drama and boy was it boring. Offering no scares, this movie had me skipping through most of it as I just wanted it to be over. Why it has so many good reviews is beyond me.
This is no doubt the worst in the Exorcist franchise.
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
SINFULLY UNDERRATED! 10/10
I have always been baffled at the amount of low ratings this movie has received over the years. I personally loved it more than all the 'Scream' movies combined.
A brilliant follow up to the first film, 'I Still Know' is one of the most entertaining and intense of all slasher movies ever!
It stands strong against most of today's horrors that tend to be rated higher for reasons beyond understanding. With a clever twist, epic chase scenes, a killer score, and a frustrated Julie that decides enough is enough, 'I Still Know' is a masterpiece in my opinion, and is deserving of much more praise.
The Axiom (2018)
So...So boring.
I don't understand why this movie has such a high rating. Plagued by bad...bad acting, no scares at all, and terrible make up effects 😲, and such dumb decisions... this movie offers viewers nothing.
The only reason I would rate it at all is for the story which was interesting. But it ends there.
Save yourself the frustration of sitting through almost 2 hours of crap 👎.
Extinction (2018)
Ignore poor reviews. Unlike any other alien invasion film!
I'm saddened by the negative reviews as this was one of the best and most entertaining invasion films I have seen!
Emotionally driven and fast paced, Extinction is a brilliant film with a twist that knocked me flat 😳. It really makes you think...
I loved this movie so much. I HIGHLY recommend this.
Under the Shadow (2016)
One of the best horror films ever!
Under The Shadow doesn't only terrify on the supernatural scale, but with the fear brought on by war as well which makes it feel more realistic.
It doesn't try to be scary by over using scares or excessive amounts of special effects. It plays it very subtle, making the moments of fear pack a punch.
Terror creeps in as we see a mother and her daughter slowly becoming the only residents in a torn down building due to the ongoing war outside.
The mixture of isolation, war, and a supernatural force makes this film genuinely scary and one of the best ever.
I highly recommend this.
Creep 2 (2017)
Incredibly boooring and uneventful.
Ohhhh boy...this was worse than the first film. I didn't plan on watching this since the first one almost put me to sleep, BUT, I decided to give it a chance since it has so many good reviews...you guys owe me my time back 😑.
Creep 2 is not creepy, not thrilling & definitely not entertaining. Nothing happens!? Even the climax is yawn worthy.
Just no. No no no. What a waste of time. Incredibly forgettable.
The Nun (2018)
I...dont...like...nuns. Never have, never will 😖.
I am shook by all the poor reviews 😱. The Nun was an entertaining and creepy spook fest! However, it doesn't quite reach the level that The Conjuring did in terms of being scary. But I will say that this was better than The Conjuring 2 and both Annabelle films all combined.
With it's jump scares, and a spooky af atmosphere, The Nun managed to out do a lot of horror flops Hollywood has produced in recent years. The visual effects are spectacular I must add.
A really good film and a superb entry in the Conjuring universe. I urge you to ignore the negative reviews and see this movie 👌.
Sebelum Iblis Menjemput (2018)
One of the best horror films ever made!
This film was absolutely brilliant on every level of the horror scale, and hands down one of the best ever made.
I stumbled upon this on Netflix and boy, I was not disappointed one bit. This movie is incredibly creepy and terrifying with some truly memorable moments you won't soon forget.
If you love horror, I highly recommend this gem, so do yourself a favor and watch this one. A true masterpiece.
Frenzy (2018)
Low budget sharkies; don't judge it so harshly.
This Sci-fi Channel original was surprisingly very entertaining even with it's low budget. I think a lot of people are judging this film too harshly in my opinion. What I loved most about it was that it had a message... you can do anything you put your mind to, even if you think that you are too weak or fearful to do so. Compared to similar films like 2018's high budget flop 'The Meg', this was good, and showed development in visual effects and characters (Is Sharknado to thank?). I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves these shark type movies. It was a silly good watch.
Aterrados (2017)
A horror gem I am madly in love with!!
I loved it so much!! It's been a while since a movie managed to crawl under my skin and creep me out as much as this did.
From the start I was freaked out and fully engaged.
The makers did a great job creating some truly scary and memorable moments that u won't soon forget!
If you love horrors as much as I do, I recommend this for sure. My faith in the genre has been restored thanks to this gem of a horror movie.
Blue My Mind (2017)
Germany's version of 2003's 'Thirteen'...with a fish tail.
The movie plays out like the 2003 film 'Thirteen', where we see a young girl called Mia, spiraling out of control into a world of sex, drugs and alcohol. At the same time her body starts going through unusual changes as she starts to question who she is and where she comes from...
You really feel for Mia on an emotional level, which I loved 💙. You experience the confusion and pain she goes through.
The film is more of a drama, with a splash of fantasy. It doesn't reveal much which I didn't mind as it leaves you thinking.
Tragic and slightly intense but also very beautiful, I highly recommend this film.
He's Out There (2018)
Why all the hate 😳??? This was really good!
First of all I wanna know why are so many people hating on the kids??? They reacted as I would imagine children to react in such a situation. Scared af. And might I add, these young actresses did a very fine job 👌.
As for the movie, I loved it. As a hardcore horror fan I really was surprised by all the negative reviews. Nothing about this film was overdone, the scares were good and the atmosphere was creepy. I loved the camera work and the 'bleached' looked that gave it a somewhat raw feel.
The character of the mother hardly made any dumb choices, delivered by really good acting.
Overall, I bloody loved this movie, it doesn't add anything new to the genre, but it was well made and engaging.
Highly recommended.
