Road House 2: Last Call (2006)
Didn't they say all they needed to with the original
Man stop making sequels to great movies. The original was a great movie that was over the top with fights, sex, and one of the coolest characters that graced the screen in the 90's. The story is believable as if your been to bars in the outs of the south you would know. But here comes this piece of junk Roadhouse 2 Last Call. Lets just hope they are serious with the title and never make another Roadhouse ever again. It doesn't have the charm of the characters of the original nor is the story really believable. The Story is more of a Steven Segal type action that even though Roadhouse 2 is a B movie it still doesn't click as some B movie action still sales the movie no matter how cheesy it is. The only reason to rent not buy this movie is that we finally find out the one question is left from the original Roadhouse. Patrick Swayze's character Dalton, is Dalton his first name or last name? Well I'll save you the $4.00 rental fee. Dalton is his first name as in Dalton Tanner. NEVER MAKE ANOTHER ROADHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!
Get Carter (1971)
What a great revenge flick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After finally getting to see the 1971 version I think two things I know why people hated on the remake with Stallone & dang for this time period I bet this movie was flagged for some of the content. This movie is plain and simple just perfect in the revenge noir. It starts a tad slow but it is building up character backgrounds a little but is well worth it. This flick has fooled from start to finish even though you think your on track. Caine is great as a gangster with no regrets for what he is or what he's done ever. There's just one rule don't mess with a man's family especially a bad man. He doesn't take kindly to the misfortunes of his brother who has lived a good & truthfull life,or you will have to pay the price.
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (2003)
Good Movie
First off don't listen to all the haters giving this movie a bad review. If your looking for a "Shoot Em Up" British gangster movie go watch Get Carter(1971) or a Rambo movie. But if you want to see a great movie with a dark plot and the main character being the darkest then this is for you. Will(Clive Owen) is a evil man with a dark past of nothing but regret for all the pain he has brought people in their lives and also his. He has pretty much left everyone & everything that had anything to do with his past, even his family that he has quit writing or trying to contact them at all as it has been three years since someone have any heard from him. He has taken up in what seems to be some sort of park or forest with van he is living out of & also working on the same grounds. His brother Davey is involved in dealing drugs just really a low level dealer. But some events happen to him that leaves him in a bad state. So Will(Clive Owen) is fired from his job not by the foreman but must be the company owner who finds out that they have ex gangster working for them as logger. Will has decided to leave and try o go further away from his past as he glances in a terminal building and sees what seems to be his brother Davey inside, but as Will stops his van to rush into the terminal their is no Davey. Will then sensing something is wrong to Davey tries to call him for days but can't reach him,and thats when it starts to get good as Will has to return home to see Davey. Thats all I'm going to say as anymore could ruin it with a spoiler. Clive Owen is A+++ as he doesn't even crack a smile once the entire movie. Like I said this isn't a shoot em up, but it has violence scenes this more of a story & character movie.
The Sopranos: Road to Respect (2006)
What a waste
For The Sopranos fans like me who has really been looking forward for this game to come out. I think after about 10 minutes of boring game play you'll feel the same as me WHAT A WASTE. The game developers really missed their chance to make a great game out of one of the best shows ever have failed & failed is really an understatement. Even with the real actors voices the game is so boring & just repetitive its almost like you wonder if David Chase said you can use the names & characters but just make everything else nothing like the show. The missions are lame & it seems like a 4 year old made them up,& speaking of missions there isn't enough on this game to call it a game. I beat it in a little over 3 hours & I'm not a true gamer as I just don't play games that much anymore so a true gamer would probably give this game a rating of 1 or maybe no rating at all. The only reason I'm rating it a 2 is because I'm a fan of the show & I collect The Sopranos stuff. So when they quit making this game because it sucks so bad at least I'll have one. To end for people thinking this game is a GTA ripoff it's not at all in fact it would have been great if they had got went to the trouble to try to copy GTA. To sum this up the game is a waste of $40.00.
Jackass Number Two (2006)
As good if not better than any Jackass you've seen!
All you could ever hope for if your a Jackass fan.As always Knoxville & his crew risk life & limb just for our viewing entertainment. If you are fan of the series & of the first movie you won't be let down like most sequel often do. The jokes they pull on each other as twice as funny, cruel, crude as ever before & the stunts & dares are twice as rough as any Jackass episode you have ever seen. If your a fan don't waste time go check it out for yourself because on Jackaass standards this movie is an easy 10 out of 10 just for the opening credits alone, I can't go into detail without spoilers but you've got to see it to believe it.
The Long Good Friday (1980)
Best Gangster Film Ever
This movie is probably one of the most slept on films ever not just in the gangster genre as it is a true classic The story is about Harold Shand(Bob Hoskins)in what is considered his breakthrough role as king of the underworld & gangland empire in London. He is sitting on top of the world with not a care as he has taken out all threats through the years. Now he is concentrating on trying to form partnership with the U.S Mob through some of his business opportunities that are more legit that he has acquired. So after returning from a trip from the U.S. where he has set up for the American Mafia to visit London & finalized their partnership as London is picked for the upcoming Olympics where there will be tons of money to made. So the guys for the U.S. mafia arrive in London but to the surprise of Harold & his crew there are a series of tragic events that are taking place that really start effecting Harold's life but also so his future business deals he wants to pursue with the U.S. Mob. There is just one problem no matter how much Harold tries to pin point who might be challenging his power he and the rest of the crew just can't make heads or tales. It is really hard to go into detail without spoilers which I won't do because this is way to great of a movie you really need to watch, as unlike most movies you have to watch beginning to end to figure out who, why,& how is trying to ruin Harold plans & his position of crime lord of London. The answer to that question is hidden in this excellent written & acted movie. This movie in my opinion really set the standards for other British movies like Lock Stock& Two Smoking Barrels,Snatch,& Gangster#1. Just check it out the new special edition DVD that was released in Apil of this year(2006).
