Brings Awareness In A Humorous Way
3 August 2018
This short film was very entertaining to watch. There are many truths in it about the industry, and it is quite sad. I loved how the brilliant cast were able to shed light on the issue, maintaining the point while doing it in a funny way. It is a great testament to how so many women and even men are fighting every day to make it, and to make a change in the film industry where sexism is involved, as it is so prevalent. I loved seeing the men (Tom & Anthony) step into their roles to prove they are also fighting for such a great cause. All together, the short was funny and outlines the horrible treatment of women in the film industry. Also, Catherine Tate is hilarious.

A good movie, but not Marvel's best

Warning: Spoilers
Before I get into it, I'd just like to say anyone here commenting 1/10 for this movie is straight up exaggerating. It was a colourful spectacle that kept most people on the edge of their seats with both funny and heartbreaking moments.

The storyline of this movie was interesting, but at times cliche. The whole Gamora and Thanos plot line was kind of to be expected, and half way through it I was basically saying to myself "just get it over with!". It shocked a lot of people, but it wasn't the most shocking death of the movie. The movie began with the deaths of beloved characters Heimdall and Loki. Loki being the more shocking of the two as a main character in the MCU and main antagonist of both Thor 1 and The Avengers. I didn't like his death because I think he deserved more than just a crack of the neck and meant to be gotten over in 5 minutes. I know it was meant for the shock factor, but I thought his death scene was lazy writing. Compared to his death in The Dark World, it seemed like he was just being tossed away as a character.

The other deaths in the movie, such as the death of Vision, I thought were also dragged out. I was definitely left questioning why these characters (Vision and Gamora) got such long death scenes that wasted time but Loki was gone in a few minutes. Confusing. And on top of this, any other death in the movie was kind of average, and didn't give me a lot of emotion, because it's obvious the majority of them will be returning in the next movie. I mean, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange are dead supposedly, but they only have 1 film each so far. It seems predictable for the next movie's plot line.

The movie overall was good, except for these little things. It is also too long in my opinion, and each individual character didn't end up having much screen time since there are so many people in the movie. It had it's funny moments, sad moments, shocking ones etc. And I watched it three times in the cinema. I'm excited for Avengers 4, but the writing for this movie did seem a bit lazy at times, so that's one thing that lowers my expectations for the next one. People have all these intricate theories, but somehow I really don't think they'll come to the screen as the writers for this film didn't seem like they were thinking that deeply.
