Sonic Mania Adventures (2018)
The BEST mini-series hands down.
I'd hate to end up writing a book about how much I enjoy this mini-series, based on my favorite gaming franchise of all time, but how can I not? That being said, I'll try and keep it to a minimum ahah.
Words cannot, will not, and for sure just can't express how amazingly well done this mini-series is. The animation style captures each character's personality spot-on with no mistakes.
Take Knuckles and the Master Emerald for an example. If you're just getting into the series/franchise, and have no clue what the Master Emerald is, from just watching how Knuckles interacts with it, you can tell of how important it is to him, and that he wants to protect it at all cost.
The animation is very fluent and very smooth, not one thing about it stands out, it captures the characters classic representations very well. The music amazingly produced and up to par with everything that's happening in the animation it truly shows that a LOT of love was put into the development of this mini-series and is truly something that everyone can sit down and enjoy.
Thank you so much for giving us an amazing mini-series SEGA, it's truly the best thing I've seen in a very long while. And brings a smile to me every time I see it.
Sonic Mania Adventures: Mighty and Ray (2018)
An amazing build up!
I have never, and I mean never been so excited to see an animated short in my life. This would most definitely have to be the one time that I was surely over-excited for an animation.
Seeing how this part shows the strong bond of friendship between Ray and Mighty, it captures it so perfectly, to show that words cannot describe how great friends they are.
Based on the past 3 parts of this mini-series, this is hands down my favorite part. I look forward to the finale, sad to see that its coming to an end. But hopefully maybe sometime down the road we'll get something similar to this mini-series. The visuals and music for this part were so amazingly put together and very well done. Keep it up SEGA!
Sonic Mania Adventures: & Knuckles (2018)
Possibly my most favorite so far!
After watching the past 2 parts, there was no doubt that this part would be just as great! (Again, don't mean to be repeating myself, but this is a really great series.) Finally some spotlight on Knuckles, and the re-introduction of a long lost character; Ray the Flying Squirrel! I'm noticing that this animation style can really be expressive, and you can tell just about how each character is feeling, specifically the part where Knuckles is trying to hide the Master Emerald, even if you had no clue what it was, you would've known right away that its a crucial and very important item to Knuckles. Seeing how he would go to even toss Ray an innocent character looking for his friend, into the skyline just because he wanted to touch it. Spot on with Comedy. The visuals, and music still are way up to par, and would definitely recommend watching it!
Sonic Mania Adventures: Sonic and Tails (2018)
Back at it again (With another great short!)
After viewing Episode/Part 1 of this mini-series I had no doubt that Episode/Part 2 would be just as great or even just a tiny bit better! I enjoyed seeing the return of Tails in this one, they caught his personality spot-on, a two-tailed fox with the passion of being stronger, someone who looks up to Sonic and wants to be brave. (Unlike in recent titles unfortunately). Though I will say that Part 1 captured the personality of characters with facial expressions just a bit better, nonetheless this is an amazing Part 2 of the mini-series, if you're looking for the true form of Tails this is it! The visuals, and music were spot-on in this part as well, keep up the amazing work SEGA!
Sonic Mania Adventures: Sonic Returns (2018)
A great start!
First seeing this almost brought me to tear's, the animation was so smooth, and fluent really captured the personality of each character through facial expressions spot-on! Visuals such as Angel Island and it's environment as a whole is absolutely stunning! The music fits perfectly, with such great remixes provided by Tee Lopes, I couldn't be more thankful for such an amazing series of shorts! Thank you SEGA!
