The Flash (2023)
Very good
DC is playing nostalgy card and I'm loving the result. Batman and Batman Returns with Michael Keaton were my favorite movies when I was a kid, both made enormous impression. Now we have Michael Keaton again as Batman, this time from parallel universe. I was not a fan of this whole 'multiverse' thing, especially after the whole series of very weak multiverse movies from Marvel. But DC took completely different approach and it worked. All performanced by all actors were very good. Sasha Calle as Supergirl in my opinion was better than Melissa Benoist (TV Show Supergirl). TV show about Supergirl was ok but I've always had an impression that Supergirl should be a little more badass, just like Sasha Calle here.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)
Slowly loosing patience and hope
Marvel seems to be making contest for the ugliest world created in its movies. The world in the latest Ant Man looks like fungus under the microscope. While the world in this one is full of weird creatures that look like they were taken from this H. G. Wells book 'The Island of Dr Moreau'. The movie is weak. Definitely the weakest of all three Guardians of Galaxy movies. I guess it was supposed to be emotional. But it's not. It fails even there, because all these creatures are so grotesque. It still has good music though, but that's the only plus I can think of. Also, why is Gamora even there? She died god damn it. But sure, in sci - fi it's not a problem, let's just tell the viewers that the new Gamora is from the parallel universe. Of course I have nothing against Zoe Saldana. She's incredibly talented and so cute. But she shouldn't be there.
And of course this overblown 8,3 rating. No this, movie is not 8,3. It's not even 3. I don't know what is happening with Marvel but still not even one good movie since Avengers Infinity War / Endgame.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Just bad
Completely weird and trippy movie with CGI similar to the latest Doctor Strange, but with worse script. Marvel seems to have run completely out of steam after the Avengers Infinity War / Endgame - not even one good Marvel movie after these.
I didn't like this one at all. What's the point of even creating such things, for me it's not even science fiction anymore, just CGI nonsense vision of something, whatever this was supposed to be. No comments on acting by the way. My impression was that actors are completely unnecessary in the movie. If you create something as crazy as this, you might as well use some AI rendered faces of people who do not even exist, because all looks like computer game anyway.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)
Pity
Everything about this movie is wrong, including overall silly "comedy" mood which dominates it. This is not what D&D is about at all. Unfortunately this is all what is hollywood is about (I mean butchering the source material and replacing it with silliness and cgi). All actors performed well (especially Hugh Grant), but were unable to save weak project like this. 5 stars from me, because it was a bit better than 2000 Dungeons & Dragons movie (that with Jeremy Irons). But considering the rating of that movie here (3,5 stars), it really doesn't say much. Hollywood should change its attitude (I know it won't) and start treating fantasy seriously (no chance).
How I Met Your Father (2022)
I really wanted to like this
The original, that is "How I met your mother" is one of my favorite shows ever. This one is ok. The formula is exactly the same. This time a mother is telling her son a story of how she met his father. The show is... I mean it is not bad. It is ok. Its main flaw in my opinion is that it doesn't have that memorable characters (Barney wait for it Stinson!). But it's just nice to watch and has some charm to it. Robin Scherbatsky appears in one of episodes, so maybe other characters from the original show will appear later as well. My rating so far is 6/10, which in my case means I will definitely keep watching.
No Good Nick (2019)
Another little gem from Netflix
Great tv show that includes morality / ethics questions I would not expect. Very good lead actress, that managed to create likeable but at the same a bit badass character. Worth recommending.
Invasion (2021)
Massively underrated
I absolutely don't understand the negative reviews, this is actually the best TV show I have watched in years. I actually watched the whole this in just two days, couldn't stop it. This is not for fans of MARVEL / DC kaboom blast blast and no plot at all type of a movie. This is much much deeper. It has incredible character development. All of the characters were intresting to me, all of them add something intresting to the plot. I guess people these days cannot wait. That's the fault and effect of internet, actually the sign of times we live in. You get everything on the golden plate in the first 5 minutes of a show, also explained in a way even the dumbest could understand, or the show is a crap for you.
Sad, but whatever. I really hope Apple will make another season of this.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Extremely overrated
8,8/10 for this? You've got to be kidding me. It's too much, the movie is weak and kinda boring for its kind. Maybe the comic book movie formula has run out of steam. Or maybe not and that's just me, but I didn't like this one.
Bridgerton (2020)
Weak and dumb
More leftist woke nonsense from Netflix? Well who would have guessed. This has nothing to do with the history except wthat characters wear some old fashion clothes.
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
Glad I did not resign after part 1
Much better than Fear Street 1994. First of all, Emily Rudd and Sadie Sink are better actresses than girls of 1994 movie. The script is also somewhat better than that of 1994. This part is intresting from start to finish and I did really support Berman sisters throughout the movie.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Weak
Boring and not scary at all. Mediocre acting and script. I didn't really care for any of the characters.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
What the hell is wrong with DC?
Like, seriously, each time I get to think DC does something well, they just have to
come up with another nonsense idea. The movie in 4:3? In 2021? WTF ? The movie is great but is deserves modern format. I hope this gets fixed when / if blu ray of this is issued
Space Force (2020)
How would Star Trek look like in real life
Another surprise from Netflix. Very nice show full of witty humor, I really liked it.
Wszyscy moi przyjaciele nie zyja (2020)
American Pie + Horror
Quite funny and well made horror movie. Full of stupid american pie style jokes about sex, but with a lot of blood and murders
Tenet (2020)
The most visionary thing I have watched since Matrix
No it is not too complicated. No it does not require being watched multiple times to understand. Physic terms used in the movie can be easily googled, the rest is your open mind and a bit of abstract thinking. I cannot rate it 10* because I didn't like John David Washington performance, quite emotionless. Also, there is like zero character development in this movie. But the concept is really brilliant.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Unexpected gem
Probably the best show I have watched this year. Amazing lead actress, simple plot that nevertheless managed to keep me intrested through all episodes.
Polityka (2019)
Patryk Vega trying to be funny here?
Kinda dumb and shallow view of politics and "what's behind". Zero intresting insight. One or two jokes, that's all
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Watched this for Margot Robbie
This movie is not a masterpiece in cinematography let's be fair. But Margot Robbie is amazing here, she's fun and exactly how I imagine Harley from the comic books.
6/10 and it's more for her acting than the actual movie
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Ok I guess
I kinda liked the first episodes, until the star trek crew started bravely fighting fascism in a parallel universe. For God's sake...
Watchmen (2019)
Weak
I'm getting tired of this omnipresent liberal agenda, you people know any other topics than lgbt and racism?
3 stars after the first episode, I may watch the second one if it doesn't get better I'm giving up
Edit after the second episode: I'm changing my rating to 1 star and not going to waste more time on this. Not only this is just another show off of liberal propaganda but it seems to glorify antifa-like actions with all these masks and using violence to "fight racism". So, they are supposed to be the new superheroes? This is actually the most cringeworthy message I have ever seen on TV
