Malcolm (1986)
Laugh out loud
Very pleased to find this on Netflix. I've seen it a couple of times. It puts a smile on your face in the first few minutes. I forgotten some of jokes and they had me laughing out loud before long. Just a great feel good movie with great humour no unpleasantness. Characters you like, cops you feel sorry for. There are more gadgets than a bond movie all of them humorous and quirky without being implausible. A car chase like no other with a getaway car that doesn't rely on horsepower and burning rubber. The soundtrack by Penguin Cafe Orchestra fits perfectly. We need more movies like this and less crash bang wallop CGI save the world stuff from impending doom.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Living Legend (2006)
Are you not entertained?
Too many poor reviews. I worked out it was Roger Daltry in heavy prosthetic make up singing in just a few seconds after that it's just a great fun ride watching him have fun with the part and the other actors. I don't suppose he ever realised how popular the show would be. I'm surprised it took so long to get him on the show. The young Katherine was a great bit of casting too.
Swinging Safari (2018)
Pet snake called trouser
Born in 68 I just loved all the references and the effort that went into finding props and costumes. Seventies soundtrack the interspliced home movie parts. It was a riotous movie I didn't expect to get hooked into. Perhaps if you weren't there you won't get it. If you where there you'll want to watch it again to see what you missed first time round.
Capsule (2015)
The Wrong Stuff
Cold War space disaster with an English astronaut who's clearly made of the wrong stuff. Intended to be a serious drama but with a bit more effort it could have been Mr Bean in space. After a few minutes of listening to him whining and swearing in an overly plummy accent you'll be willing him to pass out so that you get a break from the terrible dialogue.
