Best Surprise Hit of 2007
12 November 2007
My sister and I caught this movie by default; there was nothing at the "regular" theaters we were interested in seeing and this movie had Keri Russell in it. Boy were we surprised! This was a funny, heart-warming, heart-breaking, sweet movie!

Nathan is WONDERFUL as the Doctor! The only time I had seen him act had been in that Sci-Fi series "Firefly." We totally fell in love with his character and really cared what happened to him.

I loved the relationship between Andy Griffith's character and Keri Russell's. They had great chemistry together.

Please do not mis-label this film as a "comedy" or "romance" and for heaven's sake not a "chick-flick." This goes way beyond those labels. Well worth the time you'll invest to see this film!

Best New Show this Fall!!!!
24 October 2007
Funny, heartwarming, wonderfully acted, great mysteries....this is the best new show this fall!!! I agree that Bionic was a total let-down....but NBC has a hit in Life.

I love the fact that their is a bigger mystery that we get a little clue to each week. In addition, the cases they work on each week are fun and interesting. Lewis is awesome as this guy and it's great to see him play such a fun character! Also, his "partner" has her own story that has caught my attention. This is a great show...check it out if you haven't already.

NBC>>>>>THIS IS A KEEPER!!!!

Blood Ties (2007)

Great, another show I HAVE to watch! :-)
12 March 2007
I started watching this show thinking that it was a "Made for TV" movie. I was totally drawn into this new world. What an imaginative story; ex-cop turned P.I. investigating supernatural cases with an unlikely "partner" who just happens to be a Vampire (OK a super-hot Vampire.) I loved the characters we were introduced to. It's like the "X-Files" meets "Underworld." Then towards the end there was a commercial for "Blood Ties" the new series on "Lifetime." Series? What? I told my husband, "Great now there is another show I will HAVE to watch each week!" He laughed. But I already can't wait for the next episode!

I must admit, I was surprised to find such an awesome show on"Lifetime." Good move on their part is all I can say. The ONLY time I have ever watched "Lifetime" in the past has been to see the made-for-TV Nora Roberts movies.

The only thing I can say negative about this show is that some of the special effects weren't all that special.....kinda cheesy. But that said, I do think this series is a hit and I hope it stays around!

The Holiday (2006)

A few surprises in plot make this a must see romantic comedy that even guys will like.
14 January 2007
I must admit that when I dragged my husband to the theater we THOUGHT we knew what we were going to see...your typical romantic comedy. However, we were pleasantly surprised by a few plot twists along the way, making this more than typical. I totally fell in-love with these characters. The only thing lacking was the ending. After such a wonderful film throughout, the ending was a little lack-luster for me which is why I gave it 9/10 stars.

Jack, Kate, Cameron, and Jude all gave heartwarming performances. I must admit that I was determined not to like Jude's character, but after one surprise twist he totally won me over and I was cheering for him to win Cameron over! Jack is so funny and charming, and Kate is as sweet as she could be.

Really worth the time you invest to see this film....even my husband enjoyed it!!!

If it's been a long time since you've seen this rent it again!
24 February 2006
My Mother talked me into watching this movie with her about 15 years ago. I loved it but didn't quite understand all the emotion behind it. I watched it again this past week and was amazed at how differently it spoke to me.

We can learn so much about love, forgiving and humility from this story. I also loved how in the end Meggie and her mother finally come to understand one another and her mother is able to show her the love she has longing for. It's a great reminder to not put off showing love to those close to us, but to be like Meggie and give it whether it is given or not.

If it's been a while see it again, because your perspective has changed and it will mean something different to you today.

If you have never seen it before, I think it is well worth the time you'll invest in seeing it. But be sure to grab some tissues.

One of the 10 best films of 2005
10 January 2006
This was a wonderful movie with excellent acting and a strong storyline. It is the type of movie where you leave the theater with a little more understanding of the human spirit than when you came. Sometimes you want a movie to just be entertaining without having to think or feel. This film is not one of those movies. It goes a little deeper than that by teaching us to be more understanding, more forgiving and more compassionate.

Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman are two of my favorite actors and give wonderful performances. Jennifer Lopez feeds off their acting experience and is very believable as this character. The scenery is as beautiful as the story! Well worth the time you invest to watch this movie.
