Army of the Dead (2021)
Classic Snyder- Beautiful, funny and FUN.
This movie is completely underrated and makes me wonder what the bloody hell people want giving this a 1? Before I delve deeper, the first thing I want to impart is that as everything Snyder directs this movie is visually stunning and from that point alone a pleasure to watch. As die hard fan of the horror genre I really couldn't fault this in any major way. Sure it's cheesy as hell and sure the characters were completely exaggerated- it's comedy horror and don't go into it expecting anything else. It in no way takes itself seriously, it's just plain fun. Was actually pleasantly surprised at how great the actor's were. Considering I only recognised three of the actors, which usually leads to a B-grade acting feel, I can't fault the acting.
Don't go into it expecting a revolutionary new take on the zombie genre, it kinda tells you that in the name. Just enjoy it for the beautiful bit of mindless fun it is.
How to Stay Married (2018)
Does NOT deserve the hate.
Sure, the first season wasn't the best, but this show in no way deserves the 1 reviews it's got. Season 2 is much funnier. The youngest daughter is very funny and her relationship with her mother's boss, played by Judith Lucy is incredible. It's not ground breaking or particularly intellectual, it's light hearted fun.
Nancy Drew (2019)
Don't listen to the haters- this show is plain fun.
This show in no way deserves all the hate. Yeah, it's a bit goofy sometimes- it's meant to be. It's based on book about a teenage sleuth written in the late 60's- what do you expect?! A 100% serious version of Nancy Drew would be eye rolling. The special effects are solid, definitely have the creepy factor. And while some of the plot does has holes, there are few shows who's plots don't, the long run plot genuinely gave me a couple of surprises- and that very rarely happens, my friends hate watching things with me because I guess the outcome in the first 10mins. Give it a watch, but don't expect hard horror, it's an easy, cheesy (in a Riverdale way), fun show.
