Great beginning, beautiful final episode, but confusing development
12 June 2023
I was looking forward to watch this show and really enjoyed it in the beginning, but at the third season I felt things got lost. They started adding way too many symbolisms in my opinion and I just couldn´t follow the line of thought anymore. The final episode was very beautiful but it only reinforced my idea of an excess of symbolisms and theories, because they simply got lost in the way, and if someone asks me to explain their meaning and their connection to the conclusion, I wouldn´t be able to do so. I like the blend between sci-fi and mystical/theological elements, I think it was an interesting choice, but I would prefer if it was a little simpler.

Doesn´t look like a love story to me
22 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I can´t say it is a bad movie, it isn´t, it is good, a good production, good cast and acts, but watching so much years after it was a big hit I have to say that unfortunatelly I don´t share the opinion of the majority that claimed it as one of the best comedies in the nineties. Maybe I was expecting something different, I was sure I was going to like it, but honestly I was not convinced by the love story between the two main caracters, basically because I couldn´t see the love there. Why would he fall for her? Have an attraction ok, fair enough, he was enchanted by their first meeting, but how can someone be so munch in love with a person he sees once and in the second time discovers is a cheater; by the third, listens to her saying she loves someone else and the he changes his life for her? For me it was a brief attraction and that was it, I don´t see this story as a romance.

My theory (who is with me?)
4 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, now a review with spoilers. My theory is: Isabel doesn't exist. She is the human representation of the drugs. And once you have this is mind, all the alleged non-sense starts to make total sense. She appears when he is desperate, offering some magical help, they suddenly get close, because of her he loses his phone, his money, steels a car, ends up living on the street, going to dangerous places, having trouble with the police. She takes him to that dream world. People are debating which of the worlds are real, but the "perfect" one never existed, he was allucinating and woke up when he listened to his daughter.

He even suggests that Isabel kills him, but when he is determined to stay in the reality, she disappears.

Isabel is the drug.

Don't trust the low rate (nor the synopsis)
4 April 2021
First things first: it is not sci-fi, right? And it is not a romance either! I guess the synopsis and the trailer created the wrong expectations. When I read the bad reviews I see that this is the problem. People expected something completely different and got frustrated, most of them even gave up before figuring out the real meaning of the story.

I gave a chance despite the low rate, but I must confess I was annoyed for the greatest part of the movie. But I'm glad I finished, because it made me admire the whole concept much more and create my own theory.

It seems crazy and non-sense but it is actually touching and deep.

Very nice

I like a good mistery and this one is fun to watch. A quite long movie, but it has a good combination of comedy, mistery and even though it involves a crime it doesn´t appeal to violence or polemic topics.

Very good at first, but then...
7 May 2018
I really enjoyed this show at the beginning, because it deals with the life of deaf people from many angles; it is really interesting and have substance. But when they are done with that, it becomes just a teen drama with some unrealistic plots. I like shows about relationships, but this one disappointed me a little when it started to change so much, becoming over dramatic in some points that (for me) didn´t make much sense; it is like "teenagers are protagonists so we have some mandatory topics to talk about" too bad... I still want to watch the rest of it to see how it goes.

The Fosters (2013–2018)

Sweet story but a little too dramatic at times
7 May 2018
I´m watching on netflix, so I haven´t watched the whole series. What I can say so far (after 4 seasons): it is like a soap opera, in which you get attached to the characters and want to see what happens to them, you will root for some couples, be annoyed with others, and get mad with some of them. In the beggining, it is very interesting, mostly because of the topic about the foster system and the family formation. I just think that they exagerated a bit with the "important issues" and the story gets a little artificial. I understand that it is important to talk about some matters, and the show does it in a really gentle and sensitive way, but sometimes it just seems like too much; it becomes hard to believe that EVERY TIME something really problematic is happening with a group of teenagers. But anyway, it is a sweet show that got my attention and I think it can bring important information as well.

The Good Place (2016–2020)

One of the best comedies lately
7 May 2018
I absolutely loved the Good Place from the first episode and couldn´t stop watching it. I think we needed a really creative comedy like that, it is different, it is addictive, nice to watch, funny without exagerations, without obvious plots. Great cliff hangers and plot twists, plus, it is not an empty, shallow entertainment, it makes us think as well as having fun.
