Wedding Crashers (2005)
Let me break it down for you. I'll hold your hand like a small child.
The title of my review could possibly be one of my favorite lines in a comedy
This is one of my go to movies when I need a good laugh.
Vince Vaughn is hilarious and Will Ferrell plays an iconic character.
I would highly suggest watching this film if you are looking for a good time.
Just a warning it is a raunchy comedy.
It is definitely not for younger audiences or those who are easily offended.
I absolutely love the part of the film when all of the characters hop on a yacht and travel to a private island.
They then spend the weekend on the posh estate of the Cleary family.
This part of the storyline that unfolds on the island is the best in my opinion.
Originally I gave it an 8, but I revised the rating once I watched the movie again for the thousandth time and it still made me laugh.
So it's a solid 9 for me now.
1899 (2022)
Netflix finally delivers.
I love that Netflix finally came through with a solid show. They have really been coming up short, but not with this show. I would give it a higher rating if it was only 1 season. I am excited to see the second season hopefully it will be just as good as the first. The casting was great. Visually it is stunning. Just top notch. I highly recommend watching this show. I really love a good mystery and it played out perfectly. I was invested with what was going on in the main storyline, but a few of the individual character storylines were less interesting. I am not a huge fan of Science Fiction, but I liked this show so much I am going to broaden my horizon and watch some others.
#ThanksNetflix!
Luckiest Girl Alive (2022)
The movie was okay,
I chose to watch this movie completely cold.
I knew nothing about it other than Finn Wittrock is gorgeous and I think Mila Kunis is very talented. Mila (Ani) did not disappoint. She was amazing to watch in this role.
I liked the suspense and mystery of trying to figure what was going to happen. What were Ani's secrets?
The movie spent time slowly building up to something I was not prepared to watch. Mila's performance had me hooked so I dealt with the uncomfortable scenes.
And I am glad I did. It was nice to see the ending of the movie. I did not like Connie Britton's character she was a little over the top.
There were a few other things I didn't like about the movie, but to be fair I have never read the book.
Maybe the screenplay didn't do it justice?
I like how the movie ended. It was better than average because of Mila Kunis and of course Finn:)
Worth a watch. Be prepared there are rape scenes.
Steel Magnolias (1989)
BYOK. (Bring Your Own Kleenex)
This movie is one of my all time favorite movies from the 80's.
It has been referenced as a "chick flick" in the past.
Perhaps it is. Either way it opens with the preparation of Shelby's huge wedding.
Shelby (Julia Roberts) looks like a Barbie doll this entire movie with her hair and makeup. Love it!
Such a perfect cast of characters.
Each character has a different status in the small town, but despite wealth all of them remain friends.
I love Miss Wheezer.(Shirley MacLaine) Hilarious.
During a funeral scene Sally Field gives one of the most moving performances EVER. This one scene is worth watching the entire movie.
It's a good clean watch for those who don't want a lot of cursing etc.
#SallyFieldFuneralScene.
Oculus (2013)
Finally an Original Horror Story.
I love this movie.
I watch it every year around Halloween.
To this day there has not been another movie like
it.
The story stands on it's own and is different from other movies that I have found within the Horror Genre.
Since it is an original storyline you have to pay attention otherwise you miss a lot.
I made the mistake of doing chores thinking I could fill in the blanks as I moved around the house.
Not the case.
I had to watch it twice before I could really understand and appreciate what was going on.
There are two timelines within the story.
So pay attention:)
I give it an 8 because it is worth seeing.
Maybe even a few times depending on the viewer.
Such a great movie!

Mr. Harrigan's Phone (2022)
The wonderful and not so wonderful world of electronics.
I love Stephen King's stories. This one was no different. It is cleverly designed for viewers so that we watch and see the beginnings of the not so wonderful workings within the world of electronics. The good and the bad.
Particularly the separation caused by cellphones and their users.
The social commentary surrounding those who have cellphones and those who do not have cellphones was really interesting. The haves and the have nots.
I love Donald Sutherland in pretty much anything and everything he has been a part of.
Jaeden Martell did an outstanding job in his role as Craig.
He pretty much carried the range of emotions and character development throughout the entire movie.
I will say it is drawn out and there is no character growth outside of Craig.
I consider it to be a little better than average and that is why I gave it 6 stars.
It's worth a watch. #ThoughtProvoking.
The Midnight Club (2022)
The concept of the show is great, but the execution was long and confusing.
As a person who has never read books by Christopher Pike my review is purely based on the
the show. I will have to explore the books because other reviewers seem to love them.
In regards to the show I agree with the mixed reviews.
The show was promising up until Episode 5.
After that all of the details of the main story are unorganized.
What the heck is going on outside of the storytelling during the midnight meetings!?!
The ending of the Dr. Stanton storyline and the Shasta storyline seems forced.
Especially since the storyline for each character takes up a large portion of many of the ten episodes.
The series ended without a clear explanation to the purpose of the main story being told. The character development was okay, but in the end it fell flat.
I knew I should have saved myself the time of watching all 10 episodes, but I wanted to like it so badly.
I am a kid of the 90's and the throw back to pagers and different electronics was pretty cool.
Other than that I wish I would have skipped finishing this show.
#AreyouAfraidoftheDark? Nope! Pass.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Ignore the trolls. I repeat the House of the Dragon is not Game of Thrones, and that's okay!)
It is a fun show to watch:)
BTW House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the Game of Thrones story.
The timeline and characters have a depth that continues to build in each episode and these layers are the reason why the story is original and interesting.
Personally I am looking forward to seeing how the civil war during the Targaryen rule of the Seven Kingdoms plays out on screen.
Plus the House of the Dragon story will provide an extra layer of history previously mentioned in many Game of Thrones episodes.
A rewatch of Game of Thrones will be in my future once the House of the Dragon story has been completed.
The diversity of the cast makes sense and is more believable when the screen reflects reality.
I like the progressive thinking and views of sexuality that the show puts forward.
I'm a huge fan of the radical ideas surrounding female characters found within House of the Dragon story.
The women are given the ability to take ownership of their sexuality and seek their "passions", even though they are not entirely in possession of their bodies. The women have choices and aren't forcibly raped which is a step in the right direction.
It is a different story and a different timeline of events that our house is enjoying immensely. Love!
Fate: The Winx Saga (2021)
Don't waist your precious leisure time on the first season of this show because the second season is not worth the watch.
The first season was a fun watch for me, and I looked forward to watching the second season. The second season was finally released and I started watching it straight away. The second season is beyond boring and the storyline is so awful I only made it to the beginning of Episode 3 and gave up. There is no storyline or character development, but there is copious amounts of sex and sensuality paired with awful music. Which I could stand if there was some type of excitement like a good fight or the use of magic. I am so disappointed because it took a really long time for the second season to be released. I'm glad I made the decision to move on to a different show. Hope this helps.#HardPass.
Black Summer (2019)
Uncomplicated Zombie Apocalypse= FUN!
All action!
Just enough character development to be emotionally invested, but don't get to attached.
I love this show!
True Detective (2014)
First Season is Gold!
Watch the first season. It is one of the best shows ever. Original and very scary.
The first season stands alone. The other two seasons are trash. They make no sense and are a waste of time.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Original Masterpiece!
Very cool tie- ins from other Tarantino films. Big Kahuna Burger Billboard and Red Apple Cigarettes are a few featured. Great concept expertly executed by a fantastic cast. Tarantino is a masterful genius!
