Furioza (2021)
A movie that won't be easy to forget.
First Polish movie I've ever watched but call me a fan! There were several jaw dropping moments in the film that will stick to me the next couple of weeks. Please give it a try, the rating here is way too low!
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Just like the old Dexter
I didn't expect this to be so much like the 'original' Dexter series. It's really a great prequel.
I love the music too, as well the fact that Debra's 'back'.
Dorian Gray (2009)
If you want Dorian Gray, watch Penny Dreadful.
I got to know Dorian Gray by watching Penny Dreadful and to be honest it's so much better!
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
Came for the music, stayed for the cast
I'm really in love with the outstanding use of music in this series. The cast is also very very good. What an actors! I'm not a fantasy/sci fi/super powers fan, but I really really enjoy this show. So happy there's two seasons already!
De rouille et d'os (2012)
My new favorite film
This movie just blew me away on so many levels. It's not just about a love story, it's not cliché and it's not lovey dovey. It has some darkness with it. It's difficult to describe how awesome this movie really is.
The Witcher (2019)
Toss a coin to The Witcher
In the middle of episode 1 I was about to stop watching bc I found it weird and boring, but I really got hooked! One of the best series I've ever seen. The only thing I didn't get was the progressing of Yennifer. This felt unnecessary to me. Although a really good show!!
Abducted in Plain Sight (2017)
I don't buy it
I can't believe what a naive and neglecting family this is. I also don't really believe what the family/Jan are saying, especially at the end. I really think they made up quite a bit of the story to make money out of it (movie, book, conferences,...) and to make themselves look better. 16 y/o and still believing in aliens? Letting your daughter get kidnapped TWICE by the same man? As parents BOTH sleep with the man who abducted your child? How stupid can you actually be? Ofcourse 'B' was guilty, but 99% due to this incredibly (not in a good way) family.
Holding the Man (2015)
Dear God this movie kicks in
What a wonderful movie this was. It really kept me silent for a while. Great actors, great soundtrack, 'wonderful' story. Wow. Just Wow.
Peaky Blinders (2013)
A great mix of several emotions
Peaky Blinders is by far my most favourite tv show e-v-e-r. With 'A great mix of several emotions' I mean that, in each episode, there's is something that's gonna make your jaw drop. Maybe it lets you cry, maybe smile, maybe even angry, etc.
A couple of years ago I started watching the first episode because I've heard so much good things. I was dissapointed though. About half a year later I started to give it another shot and I was addicted. I'm not really an action movie fan or movies/series that have to do with the mob, but I do adore this show. Give it a try!
Labor Day (2013)
I can't stop crying
I've put the movie on pause because I literally can't stop crying. This movie touches me on so many levels. SUCH well acting!
Dear God, don't hesitate to watch this movie. It's really one of my favs.
The Dreamers (2003)
Wonderful
This movie always give me the chills. It's SO well acted, directed, the soundtrack is great,... It's just different, I don't know how to say it. It's not an 'average Joe' kind of movie. I really dare to say it is art.
The only sad thing is that I don't really understand what it's actually about, there isn't a consensus. Apart from that, it's one of my favorite movies.
The Funhouse Massacre (2015)
Kind of awesome trailer, movie was quite bad though
Before watching the movie, I read some reviews on IMDB (who were mostly bad) and decided to watch the trailer. It was cool, it had a 'fun' vibe, so I gave it a chance. The movie was bad though. A bit too much 'American horror movie" (sex, teens, drinking, someone who doesn't want to go, but does because of peer pressure,...), an irritating clumsy and dumb deputy, fake looking wounds (a big, new scar in the face that doesn't bleed a drip?), etc.
The 6 crazies were quite cool and really scary, but that's about all of it.
Penny Dreadful (2014)
Don't know what a show can give you more
I'm not a fantasy/fairytale fan or whatever, but Penny Dreadful is by far my most favorite tv show ever, along with Peaky Blinders (different genre, I know). You just can't imagine how good the acting is, the cinematography, the insane plot twists,... I often had to pauze the episodes because I had a big 'O M G' moment. I even had to cry sometimes. If you're doubting to watch the show: please do watch it. (I even wish I could unsee it, just so I could see it 'for the first time' over and over again.)
The Shape of Water (2017)
Weird but good
I was really excited to watch this movie after seeing the trailer, but that changed quickly after reading all these reviews. I decided to give it a try and I'm not disappointed. Yes, it's weird, but I think that's because it's something you pretty much can't imagine. It had some big Amélie Poulin thing, but I kind of like it, it's artsy. I had some real "WTF" moment, and I guess after seeing the movie, you'll know what I mean :P. It's an untypical movie, a bit predictable, but not too much.
Give it a try!
