The Pentaverate (2022)
The Pentavetate is Pentaverage
Mike Myers is back at his best and at his worst. There many funny parts in this show but, more fall flat then not. There is plenty of charm in the show, but not enough. Thats the show at its core. Plenty of good bits but not enough to go to that next level. It's average by the end of the show. That hurts me to say because I am a huge Mike Myers fan.
The Game Chasers Movie (2022)
An adventure film that takes you back to the 80s.
As a low budget independent film made by 1st time filmmakers its actually pretty good for what it is. The plot is basically a throwback to those cross country adventure films from the 80s, with the best comparison probably being Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
The plot is well paced and the script mostly works. The comedy is hit or miss, but mostly hits with laughs throughout. The cinematography is shot well. The special effects are better then most independent films. The weakest aspect is probably the acting, but in no way is it bad or hinders the movie.
All in all its a good movie. I think most fans of The Game Chasers will really enjoy it. In reality even those that have never heard of them should get some enjoyment from it. If you temper your expectations and know what you are getting into its well worth the ride.
Revenger (2018)
What is wrong with you people?
This is hands down one of the best straight up action films I've seen in years. Its bloody. Its violent. Its brutal. Above all else its choreographed beautifully. Everyone needs to watch this movie even if you only have a passing interest in Asian action films.
The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)
The soundtrack is amazing
The music is the best part of the movie. I loved the 80s themed soundtrack, especially during the pool scene. The movie slowly ramps up tension and when it hits full bore it never stops. Its relenting. The characters do stupid things of course, but that's par for the course for these movies. In the end you do care enough to want them to survive . I admit the film doesn't really bring anything new to the table, but what it does bring it does really well. I'd recommend to fans of the slasher genre and of the original movie.
