The Great Gatsby (2013)
turbulent romance
In the end of last century, as a student majored in college English in mainland China, the movie titled with Gone with the wind had a prior claim in my mind though I just finally saw this movie- Gone with the wind (1939) on CCTV6-China Central Tele Vision movie channel several years ago; last weekend, cctv6 launched The Great Gatsby(2013) which had been no doubt on the top of my wish list same as Gone with the wind during a not very short period.
I believe there should be a sort of common ground between this pair of item , for example, both related to turbulent romance which rocked my sense of this subject completely besides both based on an American influential novel.
Avatar (2009)
I did not know Mr Cameron before Avatar
Yes! Without shocked by this movie, I do not realize the existence of James Cameron in the movie industry. Of course, I had watched or heard of Alien Terminator Titanic...In other words, I can not identified the director himself from his works. So we can talk about Avatar Titanic or Terminator, we should not refer to the director. Of course, you'd better congratulate him under the consideration of polite. Further, you also can't identify anything from this movie; even you almost ain't able to classify it to sci-fi !? Mr. Cameron do not like anything appeared to disturb him and his audiences to enjoy his movie; this is why he is here!
Sai yau gei: Sin leui kei yun (1995)
Sai yau gei vs Matrix
There are some similarities between Sai yau gei and Matrix: first, it is not very easy or even impossible to understand what on earth is the plot really; second, maybe a extension of the first, both are relative to the idea of time-space; third, both are belong to phenomenon level.
The release date of Sai yau gei and matrix are 1995 and 1999 respectively;I did not watch Matrix in a cinema and I don't appreciate the performance of Keanu Reeves in matrix very much--maybe as he is more handsome than me. But the Matrix is more energetic than Sai yau gei...
Sai yau gei: Yut gwong bou haap (1995)
This movie is a tale itself!
You can think of the successful or unsuccessful attempt of this movie from several different angles: firstly, it's a Stephen Chow work; secondly, it's a Hong Kong entertainment movie rather than Hollywood; thirdly, the filming Location of this movie is mainland China and the production company of this movie is Xi'an film studio which is a very powerhouse of Chinese culture along with Beijing.
In the opening, this movie is absolutely unsuccessful no matter in any aspect. A few decades afterwards, there are more and more people discussing it from more and more viewpoints in China or IMDB. It has been a phenomena, same this movie itself is a tale...
