Drugstore June (2024)
Funny and Smart
This movie is very funny and lets you bond with almost every character. It has one of the funniest scenes I have ever seen (dream sequence). Esther is a very capable lead. Bobby as a stable, compassionate fatherly figure is genius parody of his professional persona. The movie focuses on the comedy and loosely uses the story as a palette. Get you girl who kisses and dances like Esther, plays like Bhad, and shares your bad food habits like Miranda. Shout out to the squad, they must be loyal beyond belief. Go with a full audience and definitely grab snacks at the theater. Then start watching Trash Tuesday if you aren't already.

Loved this Movie
Saying anything would detract from letting the movie impact you real time. Watch it. You'll not be disappointed. You might just watch everything that Josephine Park and Ellie Kendrick have ever made. The relationship between the main characters is one that all couples should aspire to have. Josephine gave this movie all it could ask for. It delivers all the things it promises and does not pull punches. I was entertained and captivated for the entire movie. This movie also blended two cultures and diverse character demeanors very well. Can't wait to check out other movies by the Director. Would suggest this to anyone who enjoyed A Dark Song.
Torn Hearts (2022)
Country music has a fresh hell
Katey Sagal is very believable as a country star whose career has faded. Abby Quinn and Alexxis Lemire are fun to watch as the story gets told. Plenty of Nashville humor, whiskey, and bullets fly while these ladies find out who the real Diva is.
We're All Going to the World's Fair (2021)
Very effective tension
Casey's scared. Casey's lost. Casey wants to belong. Casey wants to stand out. This sets the stage for great tension as the story unfolds. The quiet aloneness of her life heightens the tension as you wait for what is to occur. Excellent effort by the director/writer and the lead actress.

This movie had heart but the ending didn't match the message
Everyone who rated this movie below a 5 obviously hasn't seen the rest of the movies rated below 5. The movie has heart and has a message that I won't iterate because it would be a spoiler. The ending, I believe was chosen so that it would be unexpected or a surprise. The surprise ending spoils the message because it doesn't deliver the intended message. I mean it could but maybe it doesn't because the ending leaves the time beyond a certain point as a mystery. Therefore any message you believe to be there is just uncertain to be the author's intent. Brea did a great job of acting. Those who love movies with heart and Brea Grant will definitely enjoy it. And the body double was fantastic too.
The Reflecting Skin (1990)
Unrealistic
No child who is best pal of their dad can watch those events unfold and be non-chalant.
The older brother vacillates between emotional abuse and brotherly concern without apparent mental instability.
The child doesn't report the killer when he becomes directly aware of identity. There is no reason for this.
The kids are destructive without concern for their punishment (bedroom) even though they hid when they played the frog prank.
The woman says she has a ride and then accepts a ride from strangers.
People are not born emotionally distant, then show ability to care, then act as a distant observer without trauma which the boy didn't have.
Who planted the fishy baby?
Hellbender (2021)
Very effective Indy horror
I've seen this father/daughter team before. This was an excellent product. Very effective horror. Believable and spooky witchery. Talented musical score that added to the character development. They just got way better. Can't wait to see future efforts from them. Toby was great too.
