Poor Things (2023)
Expectations were high
If you have liked his previous films you might like this too. From and artistic viewpoint this was mostly about whoring and prostitution and nothing else happened but Emma Stone getting laid.
Otherwise that type of films have at least some interesting surreal themes and that idea about childs mind in a grown up body could have resulted in a very vivid imagination too. Now it was about sex.
Nothing bad, just a bit stupid way to express the main idea in the film.
Acting was rather dull and mechanical in a good way but could have been more confrontational with the clash that a child has with the world. Now it seemed almost normal.
Basically entertaining film.
Pam & Tommy (2022)
OK
Thought it was about Pam and Tommy but it was about two construction workers Julio and Carl.
How they fell in love because it was against their community at the construction site.
Lived happily ever after.
Yung Lean: In My Head (2020)
The best music doc I have seen in a while
This documentary showed that Young leans music is quite honest and deep inside their songs is a very touching inner force and expression.
Like every great band or musician has had in the past. Something serious that music often lacks on this internet age.
Seeing this, made me appreciate that openness and beauty that computer made music can have if it is made in a truthful way.
I especially liked the part where Yung Sherman demanded to get some meth before it is too late. Young musicians should be free to live that rocknroll life before they get too old for it. The fact that he collects antique and also sells it proves that he has some right values in his life.
Of course tragedy is part of life, and the way sad boys survived it made them seem like they are here to stay. Bands very often break up in similar conditions.
Wish them Boys a better future, wider audience and hopefully a bigger career in America too.

Band of Brothers (2001)
Not as good as you would expect but ok
Characters were not interesting so the series was realistically made in that sense.
I still don't understand what there is to glorify in American individuals who came to Europe and slaughtered voluntarily in someone else's war. Those kind of people who want to kill others should not be praised and portrayed as war heroes.
Otherwise a very solid and compact depiction of world war two through the lens of British and Hollywood like sugar coating. Although a very entertaining series, including the best parts in the beginning.
There are of course better films made in Europe that are even more realistic and personal. And even better in historical importance and showing humanity during war time.
There Are No Fakes (2019)
Great doc
This Documentary was the most strangest documentary I have ever seen.
Surprising, let me wondering how those events are even possible to happen.
Ten stars.
The King of Staten Island (2020)
A great and almost perfect feel good indie film
This falls perfectly into indie category.
Some bits a bit unrealistic but otherwise a perfectly crafted film that
will make you feel good. Maybe if you are from 20 to 40 years of age you will relate into that situation in life when nothing that you do feels meaningful enough.
And you still think life is good enough but might need some focus in finding out what you really want to do in life. I gave it ten because it was well made and I had not seen many good movies recently. Because these kind of movies about ordinary lives are hard to make interesting and meaningful. A bit like Juno or other small tales that make life a little bit better.
DAU. Smelye ludi (2020)
Boring
First I watched degeneration that kept me intellectually vivid for the most part of the film, this one, brave people does not have anything to grap into, no storyline, only depictions of soviet life and a few scientists. There seems to be a problem with the quality of DAU Films, it is hard to make a masterpiece out of 13 movies. I might still watch natasha at least. Try to follow Imdb reviews and scores and see the best films of this exciting project.
1917 (2019)
A solid hangover movie
This movie made something new by showing how unimportant war was. The other character gets stabbed to death even the real war has started out for him because in a war situation British youth always helped the germans. And then got stabbed to death for being naive of course.
It made the war look very pathetic. I even started to think about military leaders as so incapable in the real world that the only artificial system they are able to live inside is a stupid and artificial war time construction called the army.
And just how pathetic the whole world war was. Not to mention wars of today.
Les misérables (2019)
Pointless but entertaining
Why those rebels are throwing shopping carts and stuff down the stairway? Do I as audience have to invent another reason for the actions rather than guess that the people might express their anger that is a result of living in the hoods. And not have enough money or something. Action was the whole point of the movie but it failed to have a unique idea and the reason for the film to exists. Otherwise a good and watchable movie.
El hoyo (2019)
Stupid
Those numbers of the platforms are upside down. 1st is the highest. Ending is too simple and as a metaphor an elevator is kind of stupid idea. The food as a measurement of wealth is also boring. And the food supply should have looked more like a buffet in some industrial factory rather than like a borgeous still life.
Film fails because of it's ideas but not with it's execution.
Blood runs in the end.
Maybe more depth in the philosophy in the future.
Atlantique (2019)
A perfect movie
Thought at first that this movie relates to Atlanta and the hip hop industry. That soundtrack was excellent and it reminded me about 1984 scifi~ish sounds. Now that I think about the representation of ghosts in this film, it is one of the best I have ever seen. That blinding comes out looking like a punishment and the overall feeling in the movie is kind of very originally creepy and mysterious.
A perfect indie film that reflects the Women of Africa and arranged marriages.
A small masterpiece.
Guns Akimbo (2019)
This was honestly a bad movie
I watched the entire Film and thought that this movie probably was made bad on purpose. Dont waste your time. And it was so bad that I had to write my first bad review.
Thunder Road (2018)
When everything goes wrong
The movie aroused some thoughts for me. Like when you grow older you are not ashamed to cry publically and we accept negativity and misery as part of life. The director was very convincing and I kept wondering how much of the acting was based in real life difficulties. The whole concept of making a movie must be a financial disaster as well as a very unlucky thing to do to most directors today. I thought that how people usually fail in their own goals if they even have any and how great it felt that this movie came out and it depicted a failure in the cops life. My uncle lost his whole family and he was a police officer so he must have been one of the unluckiest persons on earth. And the movie made me think about how helpless we are when everything you have is being lost and how that cycle feeds itself into the path of unlucky events until you somehow are able to put some pieces of life together. And it all happens in silence and out of reach, alone and helpless. And no one understands the downward spiral and how it makes you behave. And you realize that you are the only person who can help yourself and that is just how the world goes on without you. Then you feel lucky about the fact that no one cared and at least you were not too much of a burden to other people.
Paradise Hills (2019)
Basic movie
I think that the plot was a bit superficial and the movie could have been more psychologically loaded.
The ending was flat. But the visual quality was rather good because of the atmosphere it provided.
Another movie called A cure fore wellness was slightly better. It made me think more about wealth and
What humans need for wellbeing and if everyone has some trouble and someone convinces you that type
Of feeling can be cured, then is the right solution just to stay in the comfortable lifestyle that most
Western world is starting to have.
This girly movie was a bit about psychology without the aspects of the society.
Of course that dark undertone is maybe best portrayed in One flew over cuckoos nest, but that is already on a whole different league in cinematic history.
6 for boys, 7 for the girls
