Lucky 13 (2005)
6/10
Here for the critical ratio - This is not a "1".

Looking for star power? T&A? Award winning acting and writing? Non-stop belly laughs? Well then look elsewhere (and good luck). This is not a movie for the critically anal. Lucky 13 is just a fun, harmless little movie that has a generally good feeling throughout. The characters are entertaining and sometimes quite funny, while the intention of the movie is just a whimsical look at love and relationships, both lost and found. Lighten up!

Ultraviolet (2006)

It's only a cartoon!

I just had to respond to the negative comments on "UltraViolet". This movie is not a former Academy Award winner, it may not rate 5 or six possible sequels, and anybody who is seeking a futuristic version of "Citizen Kane", you are out of luck. "UltraViolet" is a fun, VERY colorful, quasi-corny, action-packed diversion. This film is so vivid with a nice soundtrack and plenty of good character actors. Some of the gadgets are outrageous as is the plot, but so what? This movie is a fantasy built from a comic book. No, watching this movie will not solve the world's problems, nor will it change your opinion of anything (unless you have never seen Milla Jovovich). But if you just want to get away from it all, this is a very cool and beautiful diversion. So lay off Milla, you MAN-CIPLES!

All right, so the movie isn't that great...or even that good. So here goes...I liked it! I liked the characters (except for Zieglar) and the dreary atmosphere was perfect for the mood I was in. The female cast was definitely easy on the eyes, while the guys seemed like your run-of-the-mill college crawlers. The ghost effects were standardly creepy and I always love flickering lights as a prelude to a good scare. The plot was inane and story line did a zig and a zag (and finally a zug), but hey, I didn't pay any money, so it was pretty entertaining. I have seen so many "scary movies" that I have found that there is no scary movie that is worth $5, or $10. Heck, there is no movie period that is worth $10.00! Thank God for Fearnet.com! All I know is that I am a new Kristin Bell and Christina Milian fan. Prrrrrrrrrrr!
