Dream House (2011)
Exceptional actors, however...
Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz, These three are considered elite actors; they are exceptional and have been in numerous lovely movies... As a result, when I saw a movie that brought them together, I knew it had to be a great movie. But, ,,
1. Oh, Hell. What happens is, while the movie isn't horrible, it's not suited for Craig, Naomi Watts, or Rachel Weisz... The story was excellent. But the picture as a whole feels pale and hollow.
2. You cannot include Naomi Watts into a movie without giving her a decent script, actual dialogue with the other characters, or making her an important element to the plot. She seemed to have been forced to take role in this movie.
The filmmakers were fortunate to have a talented cast and team working with a lousy script. I gave this movie. 4/10 for the cast only.
Bird Box: Barcelona (2023)
Annoying and deprives you of your soul
Just few steps here to pave the way..
1. The storyline/plot is stupid, not really explained ,with story being borderline criminal. Don't expect any horror or suspense. The director is unaware of the nature of these beings. If you've seen the first one, there's nothing new to be found here as the sci-fi elements are completely ignored. It doesn't compensate for the absence of a relatable lead and story.
2. The only main character has no character at all, just a continuous boring self improvising aimless stooge whose presence will irritate & annoy you from the beginning to the end.
3. After an hour of watching, the ungrateful, evil protagonist's penchant for killing decent, innocent survivors on the basis of whatever spiritual crack he's hiding became too much for me to handle.
4. The "Rescue" place looked depressing and everyone miserable. And it ended abruptly. There was literally no point for thier salvation.
5. When they wrote the script, I have no idea what they were thinking. The entire film was dull, meaningless, with events occurring without any context. Quite the letdown in comparison to the original film. By the time it's all over, you still don't know who the creature/alien is, why they exist. They didn't offer an explanation in the original movie either, but it was at least interesting and Sandra Bullock's acting was exciting, even the acting of the two children was wonderful and kept you sympathetic and wanting them to survive at any cost, but in the Spanish version, I just wanted everyone to die so I could finish the deadly boring thing.
Follow Her (2022)
A Creepy Social Media Obsession
I watched this film online because I was tired of giant movies and super stars. I wanted to watch something while eating lunch in the afternoon, so I chose a random movie that appeared to be low-budget and whose actors were unknown and not among the elite stars...but the movie was very good.
Well made independent movie. If you like 'Black Mirrir' this was a little bit close to that, especially with the digital age with social media obsession.
The acting of the two main characters was excellent, and the plot is intriguing; you simply cannot predict what will happen next... The lead female character says : "the man can't just turn out to the killer, we've seen that in a thousand movies before." So you can't really know the... .... .. . Well, I won't spoil the events; The ending was ambiguous, You can't really tell what her last choice was.
Makes some good points about personal privacy in the speedy Information age where everyone is filmed at all times and people live their lives for the likes. Creepy and suspenseful.
The message here is: if you carry it too far, it will lead to consequences. Well: 6/10.
Midsommar (2019)
Dreadful muddle, Nasty suffer.
Like a pain in the ass, yeah, that's an accurate description of what happened to me while watching this crap...
I can't believe I sat through this garbage. I didn't pay anything and I still want my money back.
The plot was drawn out, the only likable character became barely likable at the end. The rest of group you couldn't wait to die off because they were so rude and obnoxious in the first place. The fact that they all willingly stayed after the first "ceremony"!!! I meant what the hell?!!
Hours later, two of the elders leap off a rock to their deaths, but when the male doesn't die, the others smash his head with a rock. The elders explain that this is how life goes here, with every member dying in the same way at the age of 72.
Somehow, thirty minutes of footage was cut from this movie before release. There are no surprises. I mean, the opening mural literally tells you everything that will happen in the film.
There is no dialog or suspense , people start despairing and they don't even notice or care, there is no food, like 3 houses in the whole property and they are all day doing nothing. It was nowhere near good, it was AWFUL. I suggest not waste your hours. There is no logical connections in between scenes, even though the camera shooting was ok. The movie just doesn't take you anywhere, it is very still.
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)
Gosh, I can't believe such rubbish got 7 stars.
It's impossible to put into words how ugly, stupid, provocative, and how much boring this film is.
Have you ever hit rock bottom in terms of boredom and annoyance? Yes, this film will drag you there... All of the characters are provocative, the plot is underdeveloped, and the ending cannot be described as stupid.
The scene of the infant was disgusting and completely inappropriate. How could you?
The film's heroine, who appears to be completely innocent at first and is falsely accused of witchcraft and sorcery... "Then it turned out that she was actually innocent and not a witch," the logical sequence of events should have gone there. Noooooo, After killing her entire family, she joins a group of naked witches _for no reason_ who, it turns out, they enjoy ripping the bellies of infants in the forest.
Bullet Train (2022)
Water bottle! ha!
Well, David Leitch is suddenly one of my favorite directors, this movie is a perfect comedy, the sequence of events, the interesting story presentation of each character, the brilliant songs, the main cast and the actors who are the director's friends (apparently) those only appeared for about 30 seconds.. Everything was very interesting, and the Japanese actors were Wow.
Brad Pitt is a very likable idiot killer (I love him very much in comedies).
Oh my gosh, I can't describe that (Water bottle) was the most professional and fun (. . . .) of all time. I almost fell to the floor laughing really.
Well, This film, on the whole, is really enjoyable and pleasant delightful. Loved it.
Look Away (2018)
Baloney.... Yeah
What was that!! What was that?!! Really, WHAT WAS THAT?!!!
There is no story or there was a story (can't tell) but they did not complete it.. did not even start it,,
The story of the film begins in the middle... and ends (or does not even end) long before the end.
I don't mind nudity and sexul scenes in movies, however, a minor girl filming more than one scene completely nude, and outrageous sex had no reason in this story, and isn't acceptable at all..
I was so disgusted and loath by the final scene between daughter and father (This is not appropriate in any culture around the world...we're not animals).
This is nothing but nonsense, really 'cause drowsy.
Black Adam (2022)
A little bit shallow and repeated
It was an utter nothing ,
With all of the anticipation surrounding this film, I was anticipating something on par with past excellent DC films like Batman or Superman, but in reality its more on the level of Ryan Reynolds "green lantern" or even more like that Shazam! Children movie.
It appears that this picture was written in 1999 and simply ignored every other superhero film that has come out in the last twenty years, failing to achieve anything intriguing, The story was shallow and repeated. The only thrilling moment of the film comes after the last badge scene, when we see Henry Cavill came as Superman.
I'm a huge fan of Downey Johnson's films. Maybe I just expected something more opulent than this.
Orphan: First Kill (2022)
Dreadfully bad
Goofy filmmakers always try to take a great movie and ruin it with a sequel.
The movie was misty, annoying, horrible, aimless...
The heroine looks like she's 40 let alone 30, and here they try to convince you that she's ten?!!!! Are you serious??!!
In an effort to fix this, they shot a lot of scenes for a child actress from behind.
The plot is (terrible),,, I don't even know where to start, because clearly even the director didn't know where to start this film..
You couldn't sympathize with anyone.. Everyone is ugly inside and out. Bad acting and worse directing.
There's no real story, the detective has absolutely no motive.
Unreasonable shots scattered here and there
My God, completely helpless. It was a disaster.
