when our kids got old enough to start taking them to the movies, we always went as a family and they didn't want to go without Mom going as well. Consequently, she knows all about virtually every boys' favorite from Ninja Turtles through Jurassic Park and the entire Marvel Universe. Our boys have pretty much stayed boys where movies are concerned, and we may not go see as many as we used to, but we still try to see as many together when we can.
I love Science-Fiction and enjoy action/adventure, who-done-its, and pretty much all genres, even romances, and musicals. Frankly, there might not be as many kids around without guys taking their girls to see romances or "chick-flicks" once in a while.

For All Time (2000)
Findable on YouTube
I recently happened upon this film on a user Channel on YouTube. I had seen it on Amazon Prime maybe 2 years ago and watched it twice while it was still available. I just looked and it is back on Amazon Prime; however, I don't know how long it will remain available. This is a much "kinder, gentler" time-travel tale than the apparent norm, primarily because the initial trip returns to when things seemed "simpler". I'll have to say the ending is good but maybe it could be called slightly "soiled" (particularly by a lifelong resident with an inquisitive if not intuitive nature).
Spoiler Alert! My closing thought at the movie's end has always been "How would he be able to explain knowing about what was going to happen before the final event happened?" Knowing the whole movie, after over a week since my last watch, I still have not come up with a way for our hero to explain how he knew.
An Unfinished Life (2005)
Unexpectedly watchable relationship patching
Redford and Freeman are excellent in their portrayal as longtime close friends who have endured much together, and Lopez is believable as a single-mom/daughter-in-law reluctantly reaching out to her estranged father-in-law several years after the death of her husband.
Fire with Fire (2012)
I found this "formula film" to be quite watchable.
I have a computer with two monitors. That allows me to play my favorite turn-based strategy game on one while watching a movie on the other. I found that the more I watch the movie and ignore the game could determine how to rate the movie. A 10 would mean I started the movie and either never left to return to the game or did so only once (usually during opening credits). I only went to the game twice (very briefly both times during the first 15 minutes) while watching this movie. It's a bit like driving home with a few unexpected detours along the way, you know you'll get there, but there may be some unfamiliar scenery to see along the journey.
