Bad acting

I really liked the show when it first came out but the acting and storylines have progressively gotten worse over time.

I hate Jill Scott's acting but I love her (and I appreciate plus size representation) so I continue to watch.

Deborah Cox's acting is horrible. I hope her storyline ends very soon.

I hate giving the show a bad review or low rating because I'm so glad to have this representation on screen but I really hope that future seasons, if there are any, focus more on storylines and improved acting.

Love Gary and Bre's relationship and was very happy to see the new romantic relationship involving Jayla.

The Wheel of Time (2021– )

Definitely one of the best series available

I love everything about this series. I haven't read any of the books but the plot was great, the acting was great, the directing was great... I loved all of the imagery and colors and angles from which the series was directed. I'm totally invested in every character and cannot wait for more seasons! I love everything about this series. Ugh. Worst lead actor and actress

Ugh. Worst lead actor and actress. I love Hallmark movies but some are really great and some are really bad. This one was cringe-worthy although I did watch it until the end but that's just my personality. The two leads were incredibly awkward together. I feel like the characters were supposed to be a little awkward with one another but this just felt like extreme awkwardness and bad acting. There were so many pauses in the dialogue that I think I spent 75% of the movie rolling my eyes. A couple of the other actresses could use some acting lessons as well I think. Not every actor is meant to be a lead.

Decent but too much cussin

I was really happy to find a gospel movie on a mainstream platform, but there's way too much cussin in this movie for it to be Christian. I don't understand why you would have a ton of cuss words in a Christian movie. As a Christian, I don't listen to things like that in movies or music or in any other way. Not all black people cuss and not all black people want to hear that. The acting and plot were decent but I really could have done without all the sexual innuendos. I try to support black projects but this one made it difficult only because of the filth that could have easily been left out.

For some reason I hated Jaime King's acting in this movie. I've seen her in a TV show and had no issues with her but she was painful to watch this time. Hated the end of the movie... unrealistic... couldn't stop rolling my eyes.

I created an IMDb account just to review this movie. I love Chris Evans and he's amazing in this role. The story is phenomenal. You will need tissue but please don't let that deter you. The casting director did an amazing job. I don't usually watch movies more than once unless they're amazing and I would definitely watch this one again.
