A Marvellous Dilemma
1 May 2023
I was rather astonished to discover the intellectual depth of IMDb has reached such subterranean lows, verging on the obtuse. Additionally, I just saw one reviewer with the novel phrase, "a 100% dialogue ZERO action film," for the first time.

In the past, the term 'flick' was employed to describe action movies devoid of narrative progression. It is quite revelatory that a film abundant in dialogue now earns such a title because it is bereft of action.

As for this movie, the denouement leaves something to be desired, yet its development proved unexpected. It may not be entirely gratifying, but it seems to be one of those instances where devotees of typical Marvel movies inadvertently patronize the incorrect cinema, subsequently bestowing a less-than-favorable rating on this site. If you understand the aforementioned, you may grasp the underlying implications.

On a side note, if you find yourself inclined to lowly rate this commentary, I congratulate you. Perhaps you would be better suited to indulging in Marvel's cinematic masterpieces, those 10 out of 10 action-filled, non-flicks. Undoubtedly, your cinematic palate is exquisite, some may even say, the bestest.

Good story overall, but I have to skip a lot of bad bits.
7 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It feels like the story and screenwrite are at 2 different levels, one is good, the other is horrible.

The overall storyline is coherent, the motives of the alien and human are pretty clear, the stories unfolds pretty nicely, so overal it does make you curious about both sides.

But in terms of the product, it's horrible. It seems as if every character must at least have one episode of mental breakdown in this series. And nobody is really capable of making the semi rational decisions more than half of the time. I have to jump forward so many times to skip those unnecessary emotional outburst from every one of the character.

Slanderous
23 November 2021
I understand it's a fictional show, but if you include actual historical characters and genuine slanderous accusations leveled against them, it's still a subject of discussion, with no evidence. Then that's just poor writing.

The Brilliant Sci-Fi Epic I haven't Seen in Years
23 October 2021
No, the pacing is fantastic. We've been subjected to too many years of pop corn sci-fi generic films, and many people are unable to appreciate a true classic picture with exactly the appropriate pace. If Space Odyssey 2001 were to be released this year, it would be labeled as having pacing issues by some of these reviewers too. It's a shame Hollywood has degraded itself and its audience so much.

This is a fantastic science fiction film that is the polar opposite of the typical popcorn sci-fi, and for anyone who wants to be awed by the work of movie arts, this is the must see in a decade.

"The Arrival of a Train" Take 2
20 October 2019
First of all, I want to make it clear that this film should have 2 separate score system.

The first one is the common system, which you score the movie for its plot, and screenwrites, and etc. And that score is just about average.

But this film is revolutionary in a completely different way. As it is filmed at 120FPS, and in 4K, meaning only a handful of cinemas around the world is able to show its absolutely stunning visual spectacle.

The words can't describe it, you only have to see it to know it, and it is nothing like I've ever seen in a cinema. Albeit it has flaws, it gave me a whole new idea of how well the modern technology can capture the real life image, and all those brilliant IMAX films I've seen in the past were nowhere near the visual reality that this film is able to capture.

For the same reason "The Arrival of a Train" is highly regarded, I give Gemini Man a 10.

I wish there will be more Cinity films in the future, so that more people will be able to see it, and also, I wish they fix that motion dizziness issues for some people.

A Documentary without Facts
6 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First and foremost. This "documentary" has provided zero proof of any child abuse evidence. It's all "he said" "he said".

This "document" narrated a painful childhood of MJ, and employed such stories to solidify the logic that in his adulthood he's more likely to abuse children, and coupled those stories with "emotional" interview with self-alleged "victims".

This "documentary" has provided zero proof of anything, just like every other time MJ's "child abuse" issue was brought up by the media, or by courts since 1993.

Finally, no evidence does not mean there were no criminal acts. But as a documentary producer, the best you can do to do the justice of the affair is to present all sides if you have nothing solid to present. And if this not a typical media sensationlism, I don't know what it is.

A reasonable objective film on science and "religion"
18 August 2018
There does seem to be a great deal of defamation against this film in the review section as the film predicted.

Such as one reviewer would encourage you to search for "intelligent design martyrs" saying that there are ulterior reasons for them being dismissed. If you actually do a search, there's nothing.

This film is indeed one sided, but it does not go from one extreme to another, and does encourage those who wants to reason objectively and not confine themselves to the "conventional wisdom" that is not backed by solid scientific reasoning and facts, to explore more than they may know.

Otherwise, if you have a deeply rooted worldview that you believe is absolutely right:

1) And if you're religious, you may like or hate this film depending on your religion 2) If you think you're "scientific", you will want to defame this film and give it a 1.

A Greater Divide Than the Division of Opinions
13 May 2018
This film, is at least, on par with any above average Marvel films. If you would like to have a typical cliche Marvel blast, without harboring any ulterior perception of the world, then this is for you.

The 10 stars or 1-2 stars reviews are both inaccurate, however, the 1-2 stars and the reviews may not only be a division of opinions about this film, which is a sad thing.

With that said that, this film did fail its premise that it would outreach to the world to amend the greater divide, thus I only gave it a 5. The film itself would be 7.5 worthy though.
