Ain't much, but it's honest work

Fun and entertaining movie centered around the question "what if a werewolf would attack a small village"? Neither a masterpiece nor a terrorizing movie, a nice flick if you like '80s and werewolves or if your a looking for a spooky movie that doesn't scare too much the viewer.

Nice horror movies

The avarage rating and the metacritic score for this movie is an example of how much horror is still the most underestimated genre in cinema( and beyond). This movie is an averegly good horror, that rely a bit too much on cliches and ghost movements to build the mood, but that is enough well shot, well acted and well written to be enjoyable and fun. In ten years we won't look back at this movie as a game changer, but I will remember it like a fun movie. Isn't it enough to reach at least a 6.0 average or a 50 in metacritic score? I think yes, specially after i see on this website that horror masterpiece hardly reach 6.0 and that being part of marvel cinematic universe give a movie the right to at least a 7.0. Do me a favor, before you give a vote to an horror movie stopfor a second, thuink to your previous votes and ask yourself if you are being fair to the movie or just misjudging a gente.

To comment the movie i think is a nice add to the conjuring universe...if this is the lowest entry( as a lot of people say) is the signal of how much quality, despite the clear commercial intentions, this movies are bringing on screen. The movie look good and the plot, even if not really original, is a good mix of "influences" and is not boring or cringy. Some scenes are really creepy and some jump scares are really good( yes jumpscares are not necessary a sin), but the general atmosphere of the movie is not too much haunting so you will walk out of the cinema without paranoia and nigthmares( if you don't sleep with dools in the room).

Cinema at is finest

Sometimes after you watched a classic movie you feel the duty to like it, to convince you that you enjoyed the silent classic as you enjoy modern movies. The reality is that sometimes if you are interested in movie you watch movies because you "have to", but after the vision, even if you understand their historical importance, you don't "get" them. But this movie is not one of those for me. I enjoyed every second of it, every frame. The art and the thoeries of eisenstein were so modern that felt like the movie was released yesterday.

Talking about the plot, in my modest opinion in this movie you really see a different concept of cinema. This is an alternative way of doing movies, no star, basic plot and only one real character: the struggle of the people. Of course this may appear as simple propaganda to many viewers, but this wouldn't discredit the art behind a movie, art is expressing ideas and this movie express an idea in the most artistic way possible.

As harsh as beautiful

This is a majestically crafted movie who tells a really difficult story in the best way possible. Is the kind of movie that prints their mark over the viewer, impossible to walk out from the cinema without feeling a bit different. The story is pretty intense, show a part of italy often forgotten and try to answer to the question "how can they live this way?"

A different Halloween is a bad Halloween?

Zombie does a great job remaking this classic of horror and of american cinema. The movie is a good slasher/horror movie: is well directed, is fun, it has a certain style and it avoids some of the traditional difects of horror flicks.

The main trait-d'union beetween the modern version and the classic is, in my opinion, the constant presence ( after the start of his killing spere) of Michael in the shadow, lurking his victims. Such a presence imbue all the movie so much that you 'll find yourself looking for his withe mask in every shadow of the shot. This help to create a state of tension similar to the one majestically crafted in the '78.

The movie is enjoyable to watch even if you know by memory the original, since it's totaly different, at least for the first hour of screentime.

The main issue with this movie is: the zombie's Mickey is totally different from the Carpenter one. Michey here is the result of the rotten part of the society that strikes back against the middleclass, instead in the Carpenter's version was the incarnation of the pure evil, appeared in a normal family in a normal town as he could have appeared anywere else, and this was part of is magnetic creepyness. So, does this difference make this movie bad? Absolutely no, Zombie updated the myth adding his own vision of it . it works great and makes this movie better than a simple copypaste of the original. Wich version of the myth to prefer has to be decided by the viewer or by the fan and i'm gratefull that Zombie gave us the possibility tochoose wich verzion we prefer.
