Absolutely predictable

What can possibly be entertaining about a movie with the exact same solution?

Great look and feel, performances. Bored for most of it. People gingerly moving around.

Getting to Know You (2020)

Almost everything needed for a great romantic comedy

The main characters are great, with such chemistry and believability. They kept this movie together.

Unfortunately, most of the side characters were more like caricatures, almost derailing the entire thing. Have to place the blame on the writer/director.

The characters and antics of the hotel employees was just too over the top, and ended up being more of a distraction than anything. I'm not convinced that they even needed to exist, as they lent virtually nothing to the plot.

Waiting for Guffman (1996)

Pedestrian humor that is way too predictable

I re-watched this recently to make sure that I wasn't being too harsh or dismissive.

Nope. It's bad. Not a single laugh for me. It's just so silly and hokey, and the jokes are completely predictable.

A Vigilante (2018)

Sympathetic story, great lead... poorly executed.

This could have been so much more. Everyone will sympathize with her, and want her to win. But, imo, the good reviews are romanticizing that fact.

Unfortunately, it's just a poorly directed and edited film.

The beginning is so slow and plodding, and we're not provided enough information to really understand her triggers. Scene after scene just slog along, with pauses, long takes, and periods of silence and 'brooding.' I wanted to like it.

The writer probably shouldn't have been the director.

Murder Mystery (2019)

So many other movies to watch
