Seules les bêtes (2019)
Best of the film are the scenes with Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi!
Best of the film are the scenes with Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi!
At first the film gives the impression that you're going to get a murder mystery set in the wintry Massif Central giving it a familiar Scandi-Noir atmosphere. You slowly get to see the events unravel from different viewpoints, with each subsequent telling explaining one pf the previous mysteries and adding some of its own.
Teh Africa part of the movie that deals with the dark online relationship between prosperous Europe and impoverished Africa that is the most interesting element of this jumbled tale. Unfortunately the shoehorning of so much else into the plot ultimately leaves even this promising material feeling more like just another contrivance and less like anything of real importance or substance. Its just not believable!
The best of the film are the scenes with Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi! It is uncanny and strange, but because of both actresses very believable and great!
I wish to have a whole movie based on this two characters and actresses.
The Admirable Crichton (1957)
Storyline for Triangel of Sadness by Ruben Östlund
Since the plot of Triangel of Sadness turns out to be a retread of JM Barrie's stage-play The Admirable Crichton, I watched this movie again and it turnes out, Ruben Östlund copied his funny storyline from this movie, based on the comic stage play written in 1902 by J. M. Barrie.
The play deals with serious class issues that were controversial at the time. Barrie had considered a more controversial resolution - particularly an upbeat ending with Crichton and Lady Mary continuing their relationship - but decided "the stalls wouldn't stand it"
The story showed the class conflict through reminds me of in the film Parasite. According to Karl Marx (1818-1883), the struggle between the capitalist class (bourgeoisie) and the working class (proletariat). Class conflicts are inherent in the relationship between owners of means of production, who appropriate most of the surplus value created through production, and the direct producers whose share allows them, at best, only to reproduce themselves as workers.
Interesting, that this story made a revival after such long time, and class issues are on the table once again.
