Monkey Man (2024)

Just a poorly directed and written movie

The movie plot is so loose it is hard to even accept it. Action sequences were directed to be so close you can't really see anything happening. None of the characters are fleshed out. Movie had potential but it could not live up to even its own trailer. Nothing bad to say about the actor but the writer/director absolutely I would avoid in the future.

This film would have done better as a direct to VOD or streaming service movie. I think the fact I paid theatre prices etc. Made this movie worse. For the record I like a good B action movie but this movie fails on action, plot, and character. Sad face.

Fun but the weakest of the series

Fun film for B or A- action film. Director was poor in camera work. Seriously stop the shaky cam. It's annoying. Fox maybe her worst acting job... which is saying a lot being such a mediocre actress anyway. However, if you like Meg this movie is more or less good for you.

I recommend low expectations as at best a popcorn action film. No crazy plot or insane action. Really typical action with a little over the top unrealistic action sequences we have come to know with this serious. I enjoyed the movie for what it was but I can understand why there is likely not going to be a 5th. I think the magic is pretty much gone.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: Whose Show Is This? (2022) Season 1, Episode 9

Just painful

These writers think they are funny but they simply are not funny. The 4th wall breaking got old instantly and this episode is a perfect example of everything wrong. Honestly, I watched to the end just for a friend but even he who is a big Marvel guy has about reached his limit. Fire these writers and do justice for She-hulk. While your at it fire Kevin too. He clearly has lost touch with the franchise and new blood that isn't only focused solely on stupid social justice need to save Marvel. This entire season was dependent on cameos when a good writer(s) wouldn't need one. This show should've never left the cutting room. In the future I will try and avoid not only these writers but directors because any director with integrity would have never done this show.

Interceptor (2022)

Mediocre action film with useless wokeness stuffed in to virtue signal

Plot was really a stretch but I can get past that. Acting weak but again can get past that. Although, all the wokeness is what hurt it the most. Strong woman fine but beating up a guy with 150 lbs more than her, sure... lol then she goes on a list of pet names claiming a woman should never be called as to prove she is a tough woman. Whatever. Lastly, the addition of a white guy who hates immigrants and claiming not to recognize America? Ok. Whatever... Although, hard rock cat fight was funny like early 2000 movie fight scenes. Oh and don't forget America has a woman president to top it off. Again, not an issue if that was all it was but it was added to just push the woke narrative.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

It's ok but keep expectations low

Honestly, I thought the film was just ok. Very special effect heavy and music a little more than needed at times. Horror elements were increased but not surprising with Sam back in the director seat. I guess the movie was fun enough but the useless throw away two mom scene was put in just right in a way Marvel can cut it for China and other countries with the rest of the film referring to them as only "parents" so not to offend other countries.

Overall, popcorn fun but not near as good as Spider-Man and does not too the first Doctor strange film. I give it a 7 but I'm rounding up a little as I thought overall directing was impressive.

Star Trek: Picard: Penance (2022) Season 2, Episode 2

Another crap show they call Star Trek

Nothing original, thought out or creative. Show makes no sense still from season 1 which in itself was crap. Anyone ranking this show high is one of two things, a bot or a non-star trek fan. Only explanation because this is just boring and bad. 25 mins into the episode and still nothing of value had happened. Just a long winded mirror mirror episode, like we haven't had to many of those already. I'm done with this show. These actors should be embarrassed, writers banned from writing for any show again and producers should get a refund.

Star Trek: Picard: The Star Gazer (2022) Season 2, Episode 1

Just sad... really sad

It's like the writers think we are stupid, have never watched Star Trek and/or hate Star Trek. I'm not sure at this time but Picard is just as bad as STD. First season everyone is dead and now this episode is like ignore the 1st season completely. The characters make no sense for their positions and Picard has lost so much of what made him great. Honestly I'm so disappointed in paramount/CBS.

Uncharted (2022)

Simply fun

This was a an enjoyable and fun film. Action, adventure and interesting story/characters. Stayed more or less true to the game series but had its own specialness. A few bad words but overall clean and great for everyone.

B movie

It tried to be more true to the game material. However, it was very shallow. The old movies are also not deep but they feel large. This movie felt really small and umbrella just was not scary or powerful feeling.

I think the biggest disservice was Leon. I can get past the fact the actor looks nothing like the character but he was basically a scared kid through the whole thing. So not sure what they were doing there.

This was the best episode of the season so far. I hope they make a few more like this one. It was creative, funny, adventurous and great characters all around. It was also directed more similar to the original show which made it feel good as well.

Really most of the reviews take this B movie way to serious. It's a B adventure movie with some action, monsters and ww2 back drop. She is a wonderful actress in the movie. Directing was a little arty but not bad. Special effects not MCU but fine. I think if you want a popcorn adventure movie this was fun.

Want a deep sophisticated high brow film like some of these people reviewing maybe not your film. Is it Indiana Jones, no but just as good as skylines or Jupiter ascending. Just enjoy the unique adventure. It's at the very least original and not a remake. 😀

Show simply is not funny. Tries really hard to be funny but just can't put together anything. Compared to bob's burgers, American dad, family guy, archer, rick and morty etc. this show isn't worth your time.

Breach (IV) (2020)

Fun B sci-fi film

I think some people are a little to serious. This is just a fun sci-fi/horror film and Bruce is fine in it. Feels a little like Sunshine. Not maybe an A film as it fits well in the B group but after the terrible WW84 this was a good movie to watch.

A fan of The Walking Dead and even its spin off Fear this episode continued what I feel the last episode left off doing if not the entire last season. More over dramatic moments and lack of any creative writing. The first 5 seasons were creative and continued to change elements of the comic to make the show work and be original to a degree. However, as most will agree last season was slow and struggled to keep true to its characters and story. However, the season did have its highlights. With that said it is clear to me that the writers have really gotten lazy and depend more now on closeups and gore to tell their story. I get they are trying to get a shock factor but killing Glenn this way in the show did not give him a proper send off. Almost 45 minutes of showing a crazy person break Rick got old rapidly. He made references over and over about growing old etc which really means nothing as here Rick has already had most anyone close to him die. Clearly disappointing episode and the first time I have ever given a show episode a 1 rating. Honestly, wish there were negative stars for episodes like this. Maybe get through to the producers and writers you need to be more creative and listen to the fans.

Spectre (I) (2015)

As a Bond fan

As a Bond fan this was a really poor showing. I have enjoyed Daniel for the most part in each film. However, this one felted weighted and boring. I went and saw it opening night looking forward to something close to Skyfall or at least Quantum of Solace. Instead I think it would have been better renting it. It was slow, the enemies seemed almost confused on what they were doing and overall the story felt forced. After seeing this film I see why Daniel was saying he didn't want to do another. This director I think might be getting bored, as he shot far to many artistic panoramas like it is a Western and arty Bond angles which simply were not needed. I hope Daniel does anther but they have a different writer and director.
