Life & Beth (2022)
A deep profound look into sing life
Amy has done a fabulous job of bringing us into the single life of a woman who has everything except what she needs.
I am hypnotized by the storyline as we slowly find out why she does what she does and the simple man who opens her heart and helps her find herself.
I am about to start episode 6 and I can hardly wait to see more.
I almost gave it a 9 but Cera is amazing and he jumped my rating up to a 10.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Veronica Mars all growed up
Ok, I love a whodunnit but don't go putting out the clues just to deliver nothing.
You didn't show us even 1 clue, nothing but deferred clues to lead us astray. Shame on you.
Was I supposed to go "oh dang, I didn't see that coming!"? Because this production shows you absolutely NOTHING to clue you in.
I was into it, this show had great potential but they dropped the ball. I've missed KBell as Veronica Mars and I feel like I got a taste of what she would be like if she grew up, had a daughter, lost a daughter and then became an alcoholic drug hazed artist.
Only watch if you want to waste an afternoon.
Do watch it if you liked Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars
Don't watch it if you like a good whodunnit, this is not that.
Invasion (2021)
I feel like I deserve a metal
I feel like I deserve a medal for sticking with this slug of a series and watching all 11 episodes of the first season of Invasion.
If we're lucky it will be the first and the last season.
This was such a slow moving saga that had the long pregnant pauses been removed, this could have been narrowed down to a one hour and 20 minute movie that would have been an hour too long and still lacked action and suspense.
The only reason I stuck with it was because I felt like the makers would have at least made the ending worth the wait.
In one episode, during the invasion of a deadly alien species with massive ships, someone sees a child in the street and they ask, "Why aren't you in school?"
That is just bad writing which is what persisted through the entire series.
Sorry Apple+, you dropped a big stinky one with this production.
Yellowjackets: Pilot (2021)
Predictable or Potential
At first I thought, "I can see where this is going" but with this stellar cast and knowing that Juliette Lewis is usually attached to some pretty twisted plots I am in for the long ride.
I can't see this extending onto a multi season series without losing momentum but as long as they keep answering questions and moving the plot forward I'm committed to this first season
It gets a little confusing flipping from the 90's to the present day and back and forth but give it a chance, you'll start to figure out who is who.
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
Just an advertisement for microdosing
I tried to like it, I even watched the whole thing mostly because Michael Shannon was amazing. I even tried to get by Nicole Kidman's Botox frozen face but here is the spoiler...
The message of the movie is that microdosing and psychedelic use will fix everything including, marital problems, jealousy, career failure, grief, suicidal ideologies and low self esteem?
Get over yourself Hollywood, this series egregiously promoted the use of psychedelic drugs similar to the ayahuasca craze going on in Hollywood now.
Au Revoir, Chris Hemsworth (2020)
Adorable!
What a funny charming romp and you are right, your team is cooler. Well done and worth the watch.
The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch: Looking Down (2020)
Film Crew Unaffected?
Doesn't it seem funny that phones drain, $35,000 drone doesn't connect, lasers quit but the TV recording equipment seems to be working flawlessly.
They released a balloon that appears to be filmed in action by a drone?
They film the vehicles returning to the base and again, looks like they are filming with a drone
I'm not a scientist or an astrophysicist but something doesn't add up.
I would think if the film crew were having difficulty with batteries and equipment they'd reveal it to confirm their findings.
My Dead Ex (2018)
Ryan Lee is a star
I need a little forgiveness when I admit that started to get a little crush on Ryan Lee (Ben). He is absolutely adorable and steals the show every time he is on screen. Unfortunately I docked a star for Katherine Hughes (Charley), her character falls flat and without Ryan Lee and Madalion Rahimi (Wren) to hold her up she would ruin the show. If you haven't fallen in love with Ben yet you will during his dance scene in Episode Six. What a cutie.
Family Guy: Pawtucket Pat (2020)
Political Much?
Yeah, I know you guys didn't write and draw this yesterday but let's leave the political stuff to the clowns in office. This season is saturated in exhausted political humor. I give FG a 10 and this episode a 2. I'm hoping for an uptick.
I'm really hoping for more of Wild West as mayor. Adam West left some pretty big shoes to gill but I think Sam Elliott just might be the guy and I'm sure he appreciates the abs you guys gave him
