My Grown-Up Christmas List (2022)
Love It Anyway
My husband proudly served in the United States Army and we are a patriotic family. I really enjoyed, "My Grown-up Christmas List." In fact, it's in my top two movies so far this season. I looked past the errors made regarding military protocol because the storyline, acting and chemistry made me happy. I also like that it was filmed in the winter, so the weather wasn't faked. The times of separation between Taylor and Luke got to me as well. We appreciate that our military was honored by the characters and always watch the Hallmark movies that do so. I'd love to see more with Kevin and Kayla. They have great chemistry and make a wonderful couple.
Every Time a Bell Rings (2021)
More Wes Brown
I liked that they filmed in Natchez, Mississippi. I wanted more Wes Brown because he's great. The sisters singing was not well done. So tired of what seems to be "token" gay couples.
Christmas in Tahoe (2021)
Not My Favorite
My first issue is that Kyle Selig as Ryan seems way too young for the role. The acapello trio was not good. "Dad" was annoying. It was just hard to get through. I know Hallmark Channel can do better.
The Waltons' Homecoming (2021)
Two Positives
I give this remake one star for playing the Waltons' theme and one star for having Richard Thomas do the narration. Everything else was off for the time and I hated the swearing. Earl Hammer would be disappointed.
Trooper Hook (1957)
Joel McCrea can do no wrong
Watching, "Captain Hook" reminded me why I miss the old westerns. Worth your time. Joel McCrea and the sassy Barbara Stanwyck make a great team.
Once Upon a Christmas Miracle (2018)
Perfection
See, it can be done. When the actors, the writing, the story, the locale and heart all align this is what you get. Keep up the great work, Hallmark. 🎄
A Nashville Christmas Carol (2020)
Each star 🌟 is for Wes Brown and Jessy Schram
I'm tired of every version of, "The Christmas Carol". I'm never tired of seeing Jessy Schram and Wes Brown. They always come through whatever the script....whether they are together or have different co-stars. They deserve better. And so do we.
Five Star Christmas (2020)
Victor Webster and Bethany Joy Lenz were the highlights
I stayed up to watch "Five Star Christmas". Victor and Bethany Joy did the best they could with what they were given, but I was disappointed with the movie itself. Hallmark Channel you can do better.
Christmas by Starlight (2020)
So Happy!
We are quarantined and I've been OD-ing on Christmas movies. "Christmas By Starlight" is a breath of fresh air. The humor and interaction is a joy. Great writing, fun chemistry and good casting make this my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie so far this season. In fact, it's one of the highlights of the year 2020. Not just for movies, but for the year 2020.
Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater (2020)
Enjoyed it very much
Loved Ashley and Niall together. She was such a flirt. Very cute together.
The Christmas Ring (2020)
Only one complaint..
I was hooked as soon as I saw the ring. My only complaint is that anyone who games knows you have to measure ingredients precisely.
A Christmas Movie Christmas (2019)
LOL
I thought this movie was a hoot. I don't think it was meant to be taken seriously. I laughed out loud.
The Virginian: You Take the High Road (1965)
Disappointed in Richard Beymer
I was looking forward to seeing Richard Beymer in a western, but my eagerness didn't last long. As a previous review pointed out, the plot was stereotypical. The acting by the regulars and Diana Lynn was good. However, Richard Beymer, as the immature co-owner of the herd seemed to sort of mimic the timing and tone of Clu Gulager's character, Emmitt Ryker. I need to go back and check to see if this was Richard's first western.
Christmas at Graceland (2018)
Higher Expectations
I love Hallmark Movies, but was disappointed with Kellie Pickler. I actually muted some of her singing. I also felt that she wasn't as good as the other actors. Just too much. I liked Wes Brown. I enjoyed seeing Graceland and the Inn, but felt it was just marketing.
