The Mandalorian (2019– )

Amazing addition to the Star Wars lore....
30 October 2023
....if you stop watching @ the end of Season 2. A perfect end to the arch. Could have followed Grogu's development as a Jedi from here but as with everything Star Wars, Disney has no idea how to actually profit from a good thing & tell a good story.

I'd have been happy to end this here, without extra Disney bashing but I need to fill the character requirement. Any series that REQUIRES you to watch a completely separate (and pathetic) secondary story, being Boba Fett, to keep up with the narrative is messy, inconsistent & nonsensical story telling.

Definitely check out seasons 1 & 2 but cut ties @ that stage & this is an enjoyable ride ✌🏼 The Force will be with you....always 🙏🏼

District 9 NEEDS a sequel

But don't let that stop you from jumping into it. It's an excellent film. Funny, suspenseful & engaging. Highly recommended for lovers of science fiction. Definately worthy of repeat viewing. C'mon though gang, WHERE'S THE SEQUEL!?

Not quite District 9 but well worth a watch

Warning: Spoilers
  • SPOILERS! -
Another grouse film by Neill Blomkamp with Sharlto Comply proving again that he can move a viewer with a comedic performance. While I found the Ninja character terribly unlikable, even @ the end I did find myself invested, & saddened by the fate of his partners Yo-landi & Yankie (more so Yo-landi than Yankie). I genuinely found myself caught up in the tension & suspence of a couple of the climactic moments. While Hugh Jack man's stock villain is quite bland, Dev Patel's acting is believable, even if his characters actions are a bit frustrating @ times. Exploring the idea of "The Maker" building a being "just to die" gives this bubblegum action movie a little more depth, giving the thoughtful viewer a chance for existentialist musing. While certainly not a perfect film, largly borrowing the aesthetic of the superior 'District 9', Chappie is a very entertaining, turn your brain off film maintained my interest for the full runtime. I was surprised to see that the film was actually 2 hours long, the time flew by. Definately worth the investment.

C'mon, where is the option to give it 0/10

Surly, for a late night show to get a 1 the comedian has to @ least show up, right? Subbing this YouTube, place holder in has you deserve a 0. You don't even have the motivation to turn up *face palm. Oh, she IS the comedian?! My 19yr old ex liked her on YouTube & made me watch. I'm 40. At least she obeyed the laws of gravity...my ex, not this hack. My mother committed suicide a few weeks ago & I truly didn't think my month could get any worse,... then I saw this. This breathing stereotype, willing to be made a caricature of her race should be ashamed of herself 0/10

Pretty sure I saw this DONE BETTER back in 1977
17 January 2020
Well, I didn't, I was born in '77 but I think you get my point. I was REALLY hopeful that we'd get a continuation of the magnificent original trilogy. That Disney would build on the lore and expand the wondrous universe built by George Lucas. Instead we got a soft reboot leading us into absolute misery. J. J. Plagerism started the ball rolling under the watchful eye of Kuntline Kennedy. How can either be considered "professionals" yet create this abomination?

The final chapter...and weakest film.

The FINAL film of the masterful Star Wars TRILOGY!

The final chapter of this Sci-Fi masterpiece, suffers with the merchandising focus that brought us the Ewoks.

The middle film of the Star Wars TRILOGY!

A masterful middle chapter to the Star Wars trilogy & by far the best of the 3.

Film 1 of the Star Wars TRILOGY!

A brilliant start to this 3 film story but also a great stand alone film.
