Sangarid (2017)
Funny
The first Estonian movie I watched with English subtitles.
What's it about: 3 guys, approximately around 20 years old, grow up in Soviet-Estonia in the 80s. They make their money by selling western goods.
They then decide to flee to Finland (why would be a Spoiler). From there they travel to Sweden. But soon realise they have to earn money. It's a nice, funny movie. But especially the 2nd half of the movie has more dramatic moments.
Can recommend it.
Zenek (2020)
No disaster
First of all, I don't understand Polish nor did I know Zenek or Disco Polo prior to this movie. It was currently on Netflix and I liked the Trailer. But the rating here is not fair.
It's a decent movie. However in the second half there is a situation which should be dramatic. But it's the worst acting I have seen in a long time. But like I said it's a decent movie.
Us (2019)
Okay movie but with some illogical things
The acting is good, the score okay, the scenery beautiful.
But there are lots and lots of plot holes and the movie trying to overcomplicate things and being smarter than it actually is.
It starts at the beginning when the mom leaves the daughter with her daddy, who is very distracted by the fairy attractions and should therefore not be put in charge of watching their daughter. Also Guns: In every other American movie they would have guns at home and would have killed the bad guys with it. Maybe Jordan peele is an anti-Gun-Activist and tries to get a longer run time without it.
Also the end that the clone made it out alive as a child and all the shadows not having a space away from the public where they could breath fresh air is kind of a head-scratcher. Also why is the only food they had rabids?
Could have been a good movie. But wasted potential.
