I Kill Giants (2017)
I Kill Giants Isn't About Killing Giants
When I first saw the poster for this movie I was excited as all hell to watch it. A cool action movie about a young girl killing giants!? What more could you want!? Well that's not at all what this movie is about. I gave this movie a 10/10 because in actuality it's a phenomenal film, but I personally disliked for the fact it wasn't about killing giants. I get the whole point was that we come up with fantasy to hide from reality (something I do everyday) and they did tickle upon the subject with the fact she kills two giants in the movie, but it wasn't real. Like you had to pull the Mario 2 on us and make it so she doesn't actually kill giants? It just made me sad when i wanted to see a small girl kill giants, so if you're looking for an action movie about killing giants, run, run and hide because all this movie will do is disappoint your action wants and crush your heart. Other than that, it's an actually great film. If you look past the fact that it's not about killing giants, it's amazing. The only problem with it was the fact that the movie isn't all that great when it comes to understanding it, but the point was that you don't understand until the very end. So is it a good movie? yes. Is it a good movie about killing giants? Hecky naw.
Batman: The Killing Joke (2016)
I love the Joker
If your a Batman fan, you probably love the Joker, and if your a major Batman fan who likes to read the comics, you probably like The Killing Joke. For those who somehow don't know The Killing Joke is a comic storyline that centers around or favorite clown prince of crime doing what he does best, messing with Batman and anyone who works with him. This comic has been praised for making Joker doing one of the most sadistic things he's ever done. First he cripples Barbra Gordon aka Batgirl, strips her and takes nudies of her. He then kidnaps Commissioner Gordon, strips him, makes him look at his own daughter naked and injured surrounded by freaks that you would see in a circus (obviously). The entire time Joker is trying to break Commissioner Gordon into killing Batman. Obviously Batman stops him. Before he's arrested Batman tells Joker he wants to help him, and Joker refuses saying that he's to far gone. He then tells a joke that's basically a way of him explaining how him and Batman are the same but different. Batman understanding what he's saying, laughs with the Joker, showing one of the most intimate and almost friendly times we've seen Batman be with one of his enemies. The movie takes this amazing comic and brings it into animated beauty that DC does. While it does add things such as the Barbra Gordon X Bruce Wayne sex scene which I would say I didn't enjoy, it's still amazing and should be watched, but knowing some of you who know of The Killing Joke, you've probably already seen it.
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013)
Simply amazing
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox is more of a Flash film than a Justice League movie. It centers around the Flashpoint comic storyline where Flash goes back in time to save his mom basically pulling a Back to the Future and changing the future. In the Flashpoint universe the Justice League was never made. Green Lantern isn't Hal Jordan, Deathstroke is part of a gang of mercs, Aquaman and Wonderwoman are having a full out war, Cyborg is working for the government, Bruce Wayne is dead and instead his father Thomas Wayne is Batman and his mom is Joker, Superman was found by the government instead of the Kents, Shazam is with a bunch of other kids who kind of have powers, and The Flash doesn't exist. This movie takes the original comic that all Flash fans love and turned it into an animated masterpiece, and even extended a bit of the lore revealing that Aquaman and Wonderwoman were in a relationship before Aquaman was revealed to have a wife and Wonderwoman thinking he's cheating kills her, basically starting their whole war. With great acting, and taking something already amazing and making into something more amazing. It also makes people want to read the original comic. After finishing this movie I binged the comic. Flashpoint Paradox is perfect for people who want to know about Flashpoint but don't feel like reading every 100 page issue that was created for it. DC may not be able to create live action movies, they can definitely make animated ones. I'm about to say the obvious though. THE BOOK IS BETTER
The Stanley Parable (2013)
Pretty good brah
I never played Stanley Parable, so I really shouldn't be reviewing it, but I've seen the entire game played over and over again to the point where I know what happens. Anyway Stanley Parable is a game where you play as an office man named Stanley where basically his life is narrated by this very calming British accent disembodied voice. As he travels through his office he finds everyone has gone missing. Later on you'll be given a choice to listen to the narrator or not. This is where the game gets interesting. The game has tons of endings that are dictated by your choices within the game. All of them are hilarious and enjoyable. This game literally takes the whole you choices matters concept that games like any TellTale game every created or Life is Strange use and basically make it the entire game. Stanley Parable is a very funny and entertaining game that doesn't require much skill. It's a good game for people who like more laid back games or people who are newer to the gaming scene. It doesn't pose much of a challenge meaning that if you're a veteran Dark Souls and BloodBorne player this game is very boring. Sorry no giants and dancers of the boreal valley here. Just you the player and the narrator. Stanley Parable is definitely worth a play.
Outlast 2 (2017)
Horrifyingly good
I have not seen the ending to this game or anything like that so I probably shouldn't be reviewing it but I don't care I'm a rebel. Outlast 2 takes place after Outlast 1 and Whistleblower. It has you take control of a man named Blake Langermann, the camera man for investigative reporter and wife Lynn Langermann. They were exploring a report of a Jane Doe found dead and pregnant in the desert of Arizona. When they get there, the helicopter crashes leaving Blake to search for Lynn in the desert. Later it's revealed there's a town in the desert that is basically a cult. As he sneaks through the town he finds his wife Lynn who is revealed to be pregnant. This would be a good thing if they weren't being chased by a cult of hillbillies who believe they should kill every baby born to prevent the anti-Christ from being born. To top that off there's another cult in the mix fighting the other cult. So you and your apparently pregnant wife are in the middle of a bloody cult war. With no way of harming your enemies you must either run, hide, or die. The game has a great story with truly horrifying moments, taking what made the first Outlast amazing and multiplying it. With more controversial topics such as murder, incest, rape, and religion, Outlast 2 is not for the easily triggered of feint of heart. Other than that it's an amazing game. Definitely worth a play and the praise it gets.
Undertale (2015)
Is it good?
Undertale was a different game when it came to 2015. Taking rules of cliché RPGs such as Earthbound and such and twisting them to make this game, earning it tons of praise, alongside a great story, funny moments, and lovable characters. It also has an amazing system that making each time you reset the game, it's always a somewhat different experience. The question is, is this game truly a masterpiece that the fanbase say it is. Long answer short is that it's not, Undertale is not a masterpiece sorry. The game is short, the replay ability disappears after a while as you continue playing the game, and the fanbase is basically cancer taking an amazing game and turning it into what a lot of people who haven't played it or aren't willing to play it a piece of garbage. Undertale is definitely worth a play, but it's not a masterpiece.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
It's bad but good
Batman v Superman was not good at all. The only good part was the fight scenes, and even then they weren't that great, but that doesn't make it one of the worst movies of it's generation. I believe that while Batman v Superman was bad, it wasn't meant to be a huge success, rather it was to set up for it's sequels such as Justice League and Suicide Squad, and while Suicide Squad wasn't that good either I still liked it, and what we've seen from Justice League, I think DC just might make a come back. Even after all that people still think that you shouldn't watch Batman v Superman, when rather the opposite is the case. I feel you should watch it if you truly care about DC and such. Sure it wasn't as good as Civil War and basically every other hero vs hero movie ever made, but it's still worth a watch. Still at least it's better than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies.
Super Mario Bros. (1993)
meh
Even though I think this movie is literal cancer to the video game industry, I first watched the movie when I was a child. Honestly I think this movie is enjoyable for the same reason we still play Sonic games, because it's easy and fun to make fun of it. With terrible choices in actors and design, it can still be a good night for you. So gather your friends, and watch this movie. They'll either think you have bad taste in movies, or you really like making fun of bad movies. What I'm saying is, WATCH IT!
Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010)
It's bad but good
Birdemic: Shock and Terror is probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. With terrible CGI and worse wooden actors than the rain forest, but that's the charm of this movie. It's not good because it was made well and it stuck with the audience, I feel like it's an enjoyable movie because it's bad. It's nice to see a bad movie every once an a while to just make fun of and such. If you like bad movies, definitely watch it.
