The Creator (2023)

Interesting ideas, somewhat lack luster

The movie sets out well but managed to not convince the viewers of the ideas within. Some absolute masterpiece Sci fi battles backed up with mheh characters and story. Honestly better ideas and execution in alternative movies and series. As others have mentioned, started out very strong only to end on a whimper. Very unfortunate.

Worth watching once but probably not worth a second viewing. Probably best to rent this or buy a digital copy and not splurge on the steelbook.

The main ideas are strong.

The acting is decent.

The action set prices are excellent.

The comic elements are excellent.

The story development unfortunately takes a dive in the second half.

Still...I couldn't recommend to watch once.. good pot boiler.. popcorn movie.

The Flash (I) (2023)

Entertainment with nostalgia

This film is very entertaining, most of the films from the DC lot have been boring to say the least in recent times. I liked the wonder woman 1st movie this one and aquaman and that's about it. The idea of multiple versions of batman in different strings of spaghetti is a novel idea, bringing together all the versions and actors over the years ( other DC characters included). The biggest letdown for me was some of the weird CGI. I think most fans and non fans of the franchise, or fans of George Clooney and Michael K. Versions of batman, will be entertained. Great to see Michael again as batman on a final outing? Fair play Michael and WB. Some nice comedic elements that didn't feel shoehorned into the film, very organic in the execution. One great scene is the alteration of batman's suit into a flash outfit. Evil dead Ash meets the DC universe! 😉

Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

So unfortunate for such an iconic franchise.

People slate the second film in the franchise have obviously never seen this one. Bought the collectors 4K/UHD boxset special edition so looking forward to the final instalment in the franchise only to be let down. Some great ideas not executed with any flare. "Bad guys and girls" with the backbone of a jellyfish. Not sure how the world managed to be plagued by dinosaurs that can't swim the Atlantic the Pacific or Indian ocean.

It would have made a very interesting 007 movie. I can actually see a James Bond V the dinosaurs but the 007 franchise has never jumped the shark? *cough" Moonraker...

Wild Mountain Thyme (2020)

To be sure be gorra.......

Leap year, Angela ashes, the field, saving ned divine, mystics anything but this film. Say what you like but it's like watching someone whitewash a wall or tatch a roof. This film doesn't hold your attention or interest for very long. A lot of irish films get "stick" but dis one deserves it!. 👏

The Parish (2019)

This is unholy bad.

The film appears to have a great cast and is well acted but let down with a lack luster story and absolutely no sense of menace. Try the unholy if you want to see a film with religious connections in a similar vein that actually works and will give you a shivers down your spine.

Pass on this one or watch it if your really interested in the 9/10 score.
