Standard Space Horror Movie - Like the "Thing" + "Passengers"
19 December 2020
Don't know what triggered all the hate from in other reviews. Maybe they're extinction rebellion extremists...

Average movie. Worth a watch if you're in the mood for an interstellar alien horror movie.
  • Acting is average
  • Story is average
  • Aliens are kind of like in "Prometheus"
  • Action reminds me of "Doom"

Almost a Successful Comedy
29 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It was so bad it could have been made better as a comedy movie. I'm serious, somebody could probably made a re-dub of it, add in some funny dialogue, and it could have been good.

But sadly, as it is now, its just sucky aliens and lame dialogue.

And just to be politically correct, only the black man and the woman survive. Gay AF.

Boring attempt to humanize an alien infection
2 November 2019
Next time you get a virus or an infection, don't fight it, because that's the moral of this movie.

Excellent

Started out like a scene from Skyrim, kept watching and it kept getting more interesting. By the end, I was like, I need more!

Not Sci-Fi, Just Drama
10 January 2018
The show is loosely based alien abduction and UFO sightings. But it's more like a drama with magic and fantasy. There's no sci-fi component to it, the aliens do everything by magic, not science. You rarely get the chance to wonder "how does that work?", because it's all magic. Definitely nothing to do with science.

And the aliens can do everything from teleportation to time dilation and faster than light travel, yet they can't figure out emotion? We can genetically engineer animals better today than those stupid aliens ever could. It's comical, NOT SCI FI.

Good Movie but Misleading
2 January 2018
Good movie, mostly kind of sad but also kind of happy in a symmetric kind of way. And Frodo has always been a good actor.

What annoys me is the way the movie, and Hollywood in general, put the blame of child abuse on men and alcohol. But the cause is rampant divorce and feminist extremists' denial of biology.

Biological parents care more for their own children, and feminists expect their new partner to ignore that primal instinct. Children living with one parent and unmarried partner are more than 8 times more likely to be abused.

Divorce is about individual freedom, and I get that, but people ignore that it leads to unhappy lives, it often bankrupts the biological father, and the children lose a parent, and in bad cases, children are beaten and even die because of divorce.

Hollywood should paint a more realistic picture, but I understand that they are in the business of selling emotions, not education.

Political Anti-Gun Movie
17 December 2017
The moral of the story is obviously political - guns and police are bad, and criminals are just victims of the system.

There is basically nothing noteworthy in this entire movie, except his wife looks like an carpet muncher. The story is lame. The interaction between the characters seemed off and just had a bad vibe to it.

Most of their dialogue was about taking an animals life, or how children shouldn't be "forced" into shooting an animal, or how hunters cheat by using deer stands, or how deers are people too, or how guns are bad, up until the very last scene of the lame movie.

Pretty Good But Still Too Political
15 October 2017
Orville is pretty good, funny looking ship, great special effects. Love the colors of the ship interior, always wondered how on some of the star treks they didn't go crazy from all the dreary gray. It's a fairly funny show with interesting stories.

But it's still overflowing with militant feminism and liberalism.

The physically strongest person on the ship is a female (Lt. Kitan). The most wise and experienced person on the ship is a female (Dr. Finn). And the male captain is an idiot who needs a female (his x- wife) to watch over him and make sure he doesn't mess up.

Oh, and the most evil bad guy aliens in the galaxy, the Krill, are literally religious white people. Ring any bells?

Well-Paced Prison Movie
15 October 2017
Vince Vaughn does a great job with this character. Usually I've seen Vaughn in comedies, but he plays this somewhat darker character perfectly.

The movie starts out with him getting fired and showing the state of his life, and it was very easy to identify with the character. From there on out it was smooth sailing. Gun fight, story takes a turn, prison fights, takes another turn, and bam! over too soon.

Must say some of the fight scenes were a bit off, and the special effects needed more money. But I couldn't bring myself to deduct any points.

First Time is Fun, Second Time is Painful
27 July 2017
First time I saw the show it was pretty good. Now, I'm watching it again, and it's kind of painful.

Not sure why, maybe because of familiarity with the characters, or maybe because of something with the suspense. But if you're a Breaking Bad virgin, which is unlikely these days, cheerish your first time.

Crap Clone of Bad Neighbors Movie
10 July 2017
It's exactly the same as Bad Neighbours except EVEN LESS FUNNY. They're in a suburb full of idiots smoking lots of weed and getting drunk and breaking the law.

I blame this disgrace of a movie on director Andrew Jay Cohen, the same douche bag that wrote and directed Bad Neighbours 1 and 2. He's brain dead. The extent of his experience is obviously partying and smoking weed all day. Why would I watch a movie about that? Why is he allowed to write or direct the same thing over and over? It's not even funny, it's sad.

Will Ferrell should take responsibility too. He's supposed to be a good actor, he should have said "NO" to this pile of crap. His only funny lines are when he says "B*tch", and that's it, two times, everything else is total crap except possibly the part where the guy catches on fire. Just watch the clip on youtube, there's nothing of value in this storyline whatsoever.

Just thinking about this movie makes me want to vomit.

This movie isn't funny, it's just a promotion of drugs and criminal/amoral activity, basically a reflection and confirmation of our perception of the idiocracy of Hollywood.

Bored in the Jungle
28 June 2017
Really boring. The dialogue is horrible.

It gets worse, the movie has progressive PC politics littered around in the dialogue. It portrays Europeans as evil racist wasteful bigots, and of coarse when talking with his wife all they ever do is talk about feminism.

And actually, after reading up on Fawcett, it is clear that he was probably crazy. He claimed to have seen an Apazauca spider, and a Double-nosed Andean Tiger Hound, two species which don't actually exist. And he basically kicked the only real biologist (James Murray) off the team.

Basically, his tours to the Amazon were a scam. Maybe he was just going there for the drugs and the native senoritas.

Best part of the movie was when it was finally over.

Not Very Funny for a "Comedy"
11 June 2017
Only part of the movie where I laughed was when he accidentally shot his butt in the first part of the movie.

Zach Galifianakis is never good as a lead actor - he always plays a lovable retard, and for that reason, he's only good as a supporting actor.

The story was OK when it was following the actual story, but once it started deviating, Galifianakis suddenly became 007 for a short while, which was just ridiculous and not keeping with the theme at all.

Another turnoff is that the movie appears to mock and make fun of people living in rural areas.

It's like a cross between "Pain & Gain" and "Nacho Grande", but it just fell flat. It had no pizazz. It was lame.

Empty Shell of a Movie
10 May 2017
If you like shampoo commercials and sci-fi, then this movie is for you.

I never saw the cartoon. The concept of a brain in a robot body is pretty cool, but the story was lame, and there didn't seem to be much character building or anything. They just walk around like, "ya, I got a robot body, I'm so cool I don't need a personality".

It's kind of similar to the movie "Surrogates", except "Surrogates" was 100 times better, had suspense, had drama, enveloped you in the movie, had personalities, and even had a moral to the story.

"Ghost in the Shell" is just an empty shell of a movie - just watch the preview it's exactly the same and you'll save yourself some time.

Disconnected
6 May 2017
Only good thing in this movie was the crashed pilot. If they had spent more time developing his character, and his story, the movie could have been a LOT better.

Instead, they just took a bunch of disconnected characters and threw them in a movie together and it comes out of the oven just like cooking with random ingredients.

Every character was 100% fake, cliché and shallow. Almost no character development.

This movie could have been great for a child - they got a giant monkey, a samurai sword, helicopters... maybe cooler if they could have got in a laser gun... except it seems they made it slightly political.

It turns out that Kong is keeping the natural balance of mother earth and fighting climate change, which we see in the form of giant legless snake ninja monsters.

Kong is also clearly anti-war in this movie. He's protecting the earth and the people of earth... by going to war with the giant legless snake ninja monsters. And of course, all the evil "war- loving" people in this movie die.

Yada yada yada, don't waste your time.

Not a Simple Movie
3 May 2017
This movie goes beyond simple sci-fi + romance. It gets down into something that happens every day - if you go on a date and misrepresent yourself to such an extent that the other ends up marrying you, is that murder? It's 100% true - when you first meet a potential significant other, we all lie, we all embellish, we all try to make ourselves look better. This movie only took that which people do all the time to the extreme. But the question is the same - is it ethical to mislead another to mate with them? The answer is obvious, yet everybody does it.

Boring AF
2 May 2017
No suspense. Acting is OK. But the story was ridiculous: Wolverine helps a Mexican girl cross a border. Wolverine fighting climate change might have been a more entertaining storyline.

And at the end Wolverine just takes a lot of drugs goes into a rage and kills all the bad guys. Who didn't see something like that coming.

Wolverine kill moves were kind of cool in this movie, but doing that same claw through the face move in slow motion over and over gets pretty boring after a while. Its always some cliché bad guy, too. If Wolverine would do the claw through the face move on random "climate deniers", that could be entertaining.

And I don't understand how crossing the border into Canada is going to help these mutant children. As if a multi-billion dollar organization of super evil bad guys rampantly killing all over the USA can't get the papers to go to Canada? And I'm pretty sure those kids crossing the border didn't get any papers either.
