Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Cried watching this
In a good way. I purposely went a month later than all my friends to see if the movie could back up the hype. It was an amazing movie with well thought out story, dialogue, camera work, everything. Will add this to my bluray wishlist. Ten times better than the first movie, which i consider okay.
Ambulance (2022)
Save your money and wait for a real writer
I feel sorry for the actors because they are great actors and put a lot of work in their roles. Unfortunately, the story and writing here have little substance. Also missing is Steve Jablonsky, who usually composes the music for Michael Bay films. I feel that the camera cuts and drone shots were used a little too much. Hollywood, please bring back movies where shots were continuous so the viewer can take it all in like real life. Jake Gyllenhaal is one of my top 10 actors but the movie did him bad here unfortunately. On to next.
Equinox (2020)
Why not a better ending?
Every episode was great except for the ending, which left no shock or suspense. Please redo it so we actually feel for the characters more
Waco (2018)
Wow!
This one gave me a lot of insight into the story of what really happened. This is one of the saddest events in history. A lot of lessons can be learned here
What Keeps You Alive (2018)
Hidden gem on netflix
Passed on a dozen movies then came across this. Was involved with the characters. Good psychological thriller
Triple Frontier (2019)
Finally watched the whole movie!
Surprised to see the director not turn this into a Michael Bay explosion. I felt engaged with the story and characters. Would love to see another movie from same director and writer
1922 (2017)
Pretty good surprisingly
This is a sad story of a mother, son and father trying to make it through tough times. Never even heard of this movie. Found out that the music composer is same from Place Beyond the Pines. Kudos to Stephen King and the cast for making this fine piece
Woodshock (2017)
Kirsten's character is psycho
Pilou Asbaek is a good actor, new to me. I like Kirsten's work most of the time. This story is depressing and shows what can happen when a person cannot control his or her emotions after a tragedy. I enjoyed the actors and camera work. Maybe the plot can use some improvements
You Were Never Really Here (2017)
Joaquin Phoenix. Yes.
Joaquin's character is one of those characters that doesn't need to say much for you to know what he's feeling. I never heard of the director before but I'm glad she was able to make a movie where you think and feel for the character. This is not an action flick. Action where it's needed and not too much talking either.
