Cobra Kai (2018)
It is probably one of the best shows ever
I have NEVER jumped up out of my chair clapping and laughing for any movie or TV before Conbra Kai. I'd not watched a single show until Feb 2022, but I'd heard so many good comments so I gave in and turned on the first episode. I watched the entire first season without stopping. I have never done that. I didn't leave the television. I identified with Johnny more than Daniel but the juxtaposition of them and their different lives has so much relevance and just proves my age old saying, high school never ends...ever. The kids on the show are absolutely adorable and great actors. It has something for young, old, nerdy, cool, freak, thug, and everything in-between. More GenZs need to watch this, because it is real world stuff. A masterpiece melding of the classic 80s into the current time in the coolest Valley of them all. Johnny, Daniel and Hawk, you rock. Karate Kid will live forever. No joke.
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
Boba Fett - Exercises in the Mundane
Scene after scene of mind numbingly boring events with occasional and rare moments of fan boy, read useless, reflections on the real Star Wars movies. George Lucas shouldve never sold his IP to the depraved Disney company. It's going along and all of a sudden I guess the main actor got covid or something and the story shift to the Mandalorian. I keep switching back and forth. I don't wanna see that hack actor as the Mandalorian. I hate that I wasted any time watching this.
No Time to Die (2021)
One too many
This movie is horrible except for one car chase scene. Bond never gets the girl. Acts like a sissy. Doesn't effectively deal with the bad guy. On and on to a miserable unsatisfying ending. They should've left it at Spectre with the apprehension of Blofeld and 007 quitting to be with Madeleine. Done. We don't need any more. Choose carefully the next Bond Ms Broccoli. You go woke, and we will make you lose a lot of money very quickly and will destroy the brand like we did to Star Wars. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways. Sometimes. And this is one of those times.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Amateur time but funny and in the end entertaining
DiCaprio is the weak but has moments to shine. He cannot credibly act like an everyday man because he's not. He's too fat. Too political. Too hairy in this movie but everyone thinks he's handsome. Like in real life.
He's not handsome but the media says he is so he is. His costar is even worse and doesn't help him much. She washed up since she left video game networks where she was cool. It's a comedy about a deadly comet coming to Earth? Not really funny. More like painfully funny. Making the Democrat woman president look like an idiot and her followers like MAGA people was interesting divisiveness and further Hollywood bashing of the South. Not really funny. Painfully funny. Ok, we get it...a thousand times..we get it .... earth shattering news doesn't pale everything else in comparison and that's supposed to be funny in scene after scene. That's what this is. A comment on the shallowness of society. Ok. Thank you. Painfully funny and a bit insulting. But the sum total of it all is good and I only give 1 star or 10. There's no in-between. Make sure to watch this one to the end, even after the credits. Take it for what you will, but I think the meteor is a metaphor for the ultimate effects of all the vaccines on mankind. Don't look up!
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure version 4. Skip it
First of all, I think Reeves is a horrible actor, a la Bill and Ted where he didn't even try but it worked because it was a farce. Matrix 1 worked because the story was so eye opening and new, and the special effects combined with an excellent Morpheus character saved it from Reeves' terrible acting. Reeves is like Melanie Griffith. He is always the same character, same face, same reactions, same everything in every movie. He's better in Sponge Bob Square Pants latest than this one. So, with Morpheus replaced, and the story completely destroyed by raging left wing politics, we have a wokefest starring the great NPH, a comedian, and Reeves, a one dimensional nothing that got lucky in Matrix 1. Matrix 2 and 3 destroyed the first one. This strange number 4 movie in a fourlogy (?) is so out of place and so further destructive of the entire story that I reccomend you skip it except for the first scene, then leave. Hollywood is making propaganda not entertainment. As a good alternative, please see Spiderman No Way Home, a movie that is not political, an excellent heartwarming and heartbreaking story and that ties a huge and glorious bow on all the Spiderman movies so we'll done that it gives me chill bumps just thinking about it now as I write. Woke and bad movies like Matrix Ressurections NEED to fail. A message must be sent loud and clear: Entertain us. Unify us. Make us ALL smile and be impressed. If not, we have no need for you Hollywood and we'll let China and Netflix completely and wholly replace you.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Ruined by Woody
Woody is an actor that doesn't do many movies a favor by the mere fact that he is in it. Zombieland is not "good" because of Woody. It's good because of Jesse Eisenberg. Most other Woody movies aren't that lucky. This movie is one of those. There's no one to carry this movie that anyone cares about. Woody is the woke icing on the cake. Can Hollywood investors not understand that when you cast violently woke actors like Woody and Clooney you have a 78% higher chance of losing your money than otherwise? Maybe they just need a write-off. Personally I like making money, not losing it. And that's why I focus on things people want to see and nothing they don't. And I stay the f away from politics. You take a stand? You just alienated 50% of your potential customers. What idiot would do that? Someone with Soros or Bezos money to burn and that's it. So don't waste your time on this one. Watch the first one again after a few drinks and it'll seem like a new movie to you. That's what my wife does and it's hilarious. But hey, it works.
Santa Inc. (2021)
Another denigration of America and all we hold dear
Seth Rogan is a sick MF. I cancel him. Investors beware. This show filled with cussing geared for children to destroy the very concept of Santa and Christmas. It should be be watched by anyone but falls in line with his usual line of cartoon filth.
John Carter (2012)
One of the Worst Movies Ever Made
The schlock Ebert said this movie would inspire a franchise of movies. Man was he wrong, as usual. It is another grand error made by the woke Disney corporation. DISNEY proceeded then to destroy Star Wars and the rest is history as Disney will be soon. We the people will relegate Disney to the shackles of China and abandon them forever along with Mickey Mouse, the trojan horse for a great many anti American anti religion anti morality messages that Disney loves to feed our children. John Carter is an unwatchable mess of contradictions and impossibilities. It makes no sense at all. Cowboys, battles on Mars, Roman sword play against an unstoppable space weapon, warriors on Mars rhinos, and a so called goddess sanctioning it all. Stupid doesn't begin to describe the story. I'm sick of Disney.
R.L. Stine's Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls (2015)
You know what you're in for with RL Stein. It's good.
It's a horror movie for kids OK? Look at all the awards. It hit it's mark "dead" on. My little guy goes running out of the room in terror at the first scene, and watches it over and over running into Daddy or Mommys arms everyone. Then he laughs. It's priceless. I agree that Dove Cameron did a great job. The kids are believable and the plot is decent.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
I didn't like it
Disney has destroyed Star Wars. Takes a lot of effort to do that but they did it. Congrats Disney.
Jungle Cruise (2021)
Half and Half
The first half of this movie is good, but then midway it seems someone ran out of steam. It was almost a joke. The villains that turn into trees and beehives? The crazy German villian that suddenly goes soft for the last 45 minutes. Weird and not pulled off technically with bad CGI. The second half is a total mess. I would not consider watching this again. The Rock is jeapardizing his career signing up for this recurring type of roll in the jungle. He must have some funding need - maybe his 4th Ferrari or something for the so-called new NFL, but he's going to make himself the Spock of jungle movies. The Rock as President? Not after this movie. Forget it.
The Cleansing Hour (2016)
Totally off the hook horror movie.
This movie is edge of your seat horror. You will be yelling OMG and grabbing the person next to you at every turn. Plot twists, great acting, great editing. Exemplary horror movie. And it will make you think about your life.
