Mission: Impossible II (2000)
Doesn't feel the dame
Maybe it's because it happened in 2000? But this Mission Impossible just didn't feel the same. From all the explosion shots, to the sexy relationship that came on in two seconds, to the empty plot, it just felt...very off. The story felt hard to follow, and it seemed to be very focused on the dramatic relationship of the girl and Ethan and Sean's love triangle. There are some cool and crazy shots, but it felt too "over the top"--like they were trying to prove how amazing Ethan Hunt is. This is definitely my least favorite Mission Impossible. I quite enjoy the others, but this one, can easily be skipped over and you won't miss much.
Turner & Hooch (2021)
Cute, intense, enjoyable!
I sincerely hope there is a second season! It's so adorable, they have some very intense moments, and the actors/actresses are all really good! Thank you Disney for pulling this off! It's not the original Turner and Hooch, but it's a great sequel!
Someone Was Watching (2003)
Just like the Book
There is a book to this movie, also called "Someone was Watching." We received this movie for Christmas, and couldn't believe it. The book was very good, and we were hoping that the movie would be. I was impressed. Yeah, it was not a "big budget" film, but sometimes those are the best ones. It was a GOOD movie. It didn't leave you bored, but sometimes in suspense. Overall, I thought it was a very nice movie, and followed the book just as it should. I'm very glad that it stayed up to the book's potential. In the movie, Chris' younger sister Molly is presumed drowned at a nearby lake. Chris, and his friend, realize that Molly may be still alive. Chris' friend tells Chris that sometimes you need to do things that you are afraid of. Another cute addition to the movie is of course, the well-known "Anne" of Green gables. Megan Follows plays a nice waitress who helps the boys. I would recommend this movie. It's worth seeing.
The Work and the Glory II: American Zion (2005)
Breathtakingly Beautiful
I had been looking forward to seeing this movie forever. Finally, I stepped into that theater, and was totally taken back.
The characters in the movie were very good, especially Joseph Smith (Jonathan Scarfe) and Joshua (Eric Johnson.)
This movie was filled with deep, painful, and warming emotions that made you want to grab a box of Kleenex and wipe their tears away. It was truly remarkable.
The early Mormon Saints went through very hard times, and this movie clearly shows it. It also shows how a family can be stretched and split so many ways.
Yet, the Steed family and the Mormon Church are not about to give up, because they know that "Every Dream has a Price."
