Kunstneren og tyven (2020)
Just a beautiful story so beautifully and creatively told
I have such admiration for film artists and their ability to tell a story. In this case what a creative way to follow a real life story and tell the beauty of this story of a wonderful friendship and our capacity to care about other humans! It was art telling about art.
I Know This Much Is True (2020)
Perfection. A brilliant translation of the book.
I've read this book by Wally Lamb 2 or 3 times. It's such a brilliant book I had to prepare myself for the series to not do it justice, but it was really wonderfully done. I've always been a fan of Mark Ruffalo, but his acting and that of the entire cast is just perfection. I'm sorry more didn't get nominations including the director, but Ruffalo certainly deserved winning the Golden Globe For Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television!
Queen of the South (2016)
I don't regret a moment!
I'm not going to look at other reviews but say that I spent the last month bing-watching this show and I don't regret a moment! It's everything I wanted in a drama - a foreign flair, a strong beautiful woman, a strong beautiful man, an evil terrible villain, an interesting story, love story, etc. I thought Alice Braga and Peter Giadot and other lead cast were great and could have been even better with some changes to the script. Action was perfectly constant with some soft and serious in between. The only thing I would like to see done better is more authenticity of the Mexican characters. I hope there's more!
Arrangiarsi: pizza... and the art of living (2017)
LOVED Arrangiarsi! It was not only filmed beautifully, but so moved me!
My heart longed for Italy watching Arrangiarsi. This film reminded me of how I can connect with life and people through just being, loving, appreciating beauty, tasting, smell, language. I loved hearing the language rolling off their tongue straight from their hearts, the singing with a voice from their very soul. I loved the juxtaposition in the images of nature - the earth, the sky, the sea,the mountains of Tuscany, and the man-made - structures, art, and even demolition.
