Not as good as Serching

I was excited to see this film because I was so pleasantly surprised by it's predecessor, but this one left me a bit disappointed.

It wasn't a bad film, the first half was entertaining and caught my interest instantly. I knew there were going to be twists and turns, and I made the assumption that because the first film did twists so well, that this one was going to do the same.

I was wrong.

Once the big twist was revealed in this one, it all went down hill. It's a story that's been done a million times before. It was just slightly superior to a typical lifetime movie.

There were way too many plot holes, way too many cliches. There was also no real urgency at the end because I knew it was going to have a tidy wrap up.

There was potential for another great, fresh movie, but they dropped the ball.

Overall, it's worth a watch since it's not awful, just don't expect to see anything that you haven't already seen a hundred times before.

Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story (2022 TV Movie)

From what I've read about this case, this movie is another addition, in a long line, of movies that are so loosely based on the true story, that they're pretty much just fiction apart from the names. My problem with this movie, in particular, is that it is so obviously trying to excuse the murderer, and in order for them to do that, they have to make the victim look as though he "deserved" to be killed. How disgusting is it to twist the facts so much that you slander a murder victim simply because he's male and his murderer is female. It sickens me. Make a movie featuring the facts, instead of an elaborate fiction that makes the killer out to be justified in what happened.

Dragon Age: Absolution (2022– )

I love the Dragon Age games & novels but....

This show was mediocre, at best. I think the main thing that ruined it for me was Mariam, the main character. I found her to be really unlikable, and when her backstory is revealed, it really did little for me. It was underwhelming. It was a mix if recycled storylines that had been done much better before. I think they were trying to make Mariam a female version of Fenris, but it just did not work for me at all.

I had been looking forward to this series, but was totally disappointed after episode one. I forced myself to watch the rest of the episodes, hoping they would get better, but they really didn't. Thankfully they were all short in length because some of them were a chore to get through.

I feel like this series could have been so much better, so much more original, and should have felt more connected into the Dragon Age universe. The big reveal at the end was interesting, but I have to hope that it's not going to be further explored in another series like this one.

Part of what makes Dragon Age so great, are its well developed, flawed yet likable characters. This series missed the mark on that, especially with Mariam.

Don't Worry Darling (I) (2022)

Yet another garbage movie

It really seems like the majority of movies being released as of late are just awful. This is another great example of a movie that should not have a score above four. It's boring, its cringe, and it's utterly predictable.

Apparently the formula for movie plots now are as follows: all woman are oppressed victims and all men are evil abusers. That's it. Not layers, no substance. Just copy and paste the same idea over and over and over.

It's ridiculous. It's like a discount, crap version of "The Stepford Wives" with so many plot holes and eye rolling moments that it's an actual painful experience to watch this movie from start to finish.

Also like so many current day message movies, its incredibly pretentious. Seriously, Hollywood is so out of touch with what most average people want in a movie. We want to be entertained and this style over substance, preachy BS that they're churning out is not entertaining.

This movie is dumb. It's a waste of time. It's dull and predictable. Go and watch The Stepford Wives instead.

Barbarian (2022)

Awful

Seriously, one of the most nonsensical, boring, ridiculous movies of all time. It wasn't even fun bad, it was just an infuriating waste of time. It was also incredibly pretentious, one of those movies where you can tell the filmmaker thought it was brilliant and off beat and quirky, when really it's just utter garbage.

It starts off alright, sure the lead character is a little stupid and there is a really obvious red herring, but I can forgive that if the story at least gets interesting from there, but it doesn't. The beginning in the best part and that isn't saying much at all. There are so many plot holes also, which just add to the badness of the film.

Don't watch this.

They/Them (2022)

Not a slasher flick

I was actually looking forward to seeing this, as I thought it would be at least a unique and interesting addition to the slasher/horror genre, but I was totally wrong. This film was boring! There was potential there, but it was wasted over and over again. It felt like this film didn't know what it wanted to be and so it was just a mixed bag of nothingness. There were lots of unnecessary moments, lots of unrealistic behavior, and just nothing new or exciting.

Fear Street: Part One - 1994 (2021)

Just terrible

I was really looking forward to this, but after the first few minutes, it really went off the rails. There was no story, absolutely no suspense at all, and the tone was all over the place. It was not good, at all.

False Positive (2021)

This movie was such a cringe fest. Just a waste of time. It also had such a pretentious feel to it, which made me hate it even more. The main character was so unlikable, so there was no one to root for. Just don't watch it. It's boring, predictable garbage.
