The Cheap Seats (2021)
Cringe
If you like Cringe Australian comedy - You're in for a treat. Two 'Comedians' host a show looking back at the weeks events - with a horrible 1980's laugh track. The comedy's on par with 'Full House' circa 1987. Will be popular with dads over the age of 60. Absolutely dreadful.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Friendship, love and diversity save the planet
Edge of Tomorrow did this concept a thousand times better. The 'smart' concepts in this movie were so horrendously bad I just couldn't enjoy it. Pitch Meeting did a perfect job of summing up this movie.
This movies illustrates how 'Diversity' has cliche'd 'everyone but the main star have to be flawless minorities. Flaws build character and are essential to building a rapport with the audience. Not skin colour. This cliche has been so overdone in a year that it can't be taken seriously. Every woman in this movie comes accross like Rambo with constipation. It's utterly ridiculous. Gail the snail? Richard Splet? Get outta here...
Every Chris Pratt movie starts with him being a jovial clown character that is taken seriously until the mid-point, where he gets way too serious. Who ever writes his characters has seen too many Adam Sandler movies.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: One World, One People (2021)
We can do better...?
The Falcon: "The only power I have is that I believe we can do better"... I just wish that Marvel, Disney and Hollywood could remember that when making any future 'entertainment'. Cause this show was absolutely dreadful. What a cringe-fest. Screw you Marvel, Disney, and Hollywood!
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: The Whole World Is Watching (2021)
Super soldier Supremacy Vs Supremacy
Carly is what would happen if Gretta T'berg got the super soldier serum. This show was just meh... but now it's getting awfully propagandistic. It's a shame too. I was enjoying this show until this episode.
I lost alot of respect for Sam in this episode for siding with 'Super Gretta'. Everyone thinks violent extremists are the good guys these days. And this sort of crap is perpetuating it. Carly is NO different to Zemo. Zemo's a better dancer. That's it.
Any why is 'Sharron' AKA Former Agent hotstuff suddenly an overconfident, smug a-hole? Oh that's right. That's the only way they car write women. Look at Carly. The Wakandans. Captain Marvel. They are all overconfident, smug, fight first, and ask questions never. The MsheU has turned women into bad male 80's action stars. Go back and watch any Stephen Segal movie for reference. It was bad then... And it's still bad now. Regardless of gender.
Men aren't alowed to beat women in the MsheU. Even if they are stronger, faster, etc. It's super cringe.
The new narrative for Marvel is Bad guys kill someone = not so bad... Good guys kills someone... feel bad for the badies??? Nonsense. It's comic book media. How is this twisted so badly. It takes alot more effort to make the watcher feel that way, and the Flagsmashers have done little to nothing to earn our sympathy. The messaging is so hamfisted it's insulting.
I'm surprised new Cap didn't kill more people with his fledgling super soldier abilities. He could have quite easily. I really hated the fact that everyone there had a phone out filming, Most people would have been too shocked or scared to pull out a phone that quickly. Again, hamfisted, staged nonsense to make us feel bad for the bad guys. It didn't work in Wandavision and it doesn't work here.
As the joker says, "You get what you deserve." And apparently we deserve a horrible MCU now.
I'll watch the final two eps, but im not holding out for anything special.
Blue Mountain State: Born Again (2010)
I wanna lay you down. And give it to you in your neck
BMS is the best show... Raydon is hilarious. The fact that they made a whole fake RnB song for this episode shows the amazing dedication the team had making this show.
Superman & Lois: The Best of Smallville (2021)
If this show were an alcoholic beverage, it would be milk.
This episode was pretty bland. Not much happens. Jordan is happy again (thank god), and has his first date with Sarah. Jonathan finaly blows up after being dumped by his Metropolis girlfriend over the phone. All of Jonathans emotions in this episode were believable and waranted. Poor guy. He thought he had everything, now he's learning life lessons. Welcome to the party pal.
The only real thing of note was 'Nosey reporter lady' does what she does best. Be super nosey by using fake hollywood mobile phone tricks to crack the case on the super powered people popping up. Why was this reveal treated so blandly? This should have been massive.
Superman immediately turns up by crashing through the celling instead of using a door. The guy who seemingly just got super powers tells the super chick to 'protect the asset' and then flies off. Superman being an absolute moron, just flies after him instead of investigating and or destroying the device that could obviously make more supers. 'Batman Worlds Greatest Detective' he ain't.
Later Supes and Lois have a conversation about knowing it has something to do with the mine. Supes, being an investigative reporter with super powers doesn't think to go check out the mine? Absolutely moronic. Man this show is such a slow burn.
Why was Sarah acting so nasty to Jonathan? Because her father had a few drinks after a colleague almost died? There needed to be a flashback or two showing her fathers insinuated drinking problem, and how it affected her and her family. Without it, it just seemed like she didn't like anyone having fun. How DARE anyone have fun.
Luthor is back this episode, which is good, because it's about the only interesting plot line in this show. I kept hearing Seal's 'Kiss from a rose' whenever he was on screen. The twist at the end with him being with lois in the other dimension is the love triangle no one wants, or asked for. Great, they just ruined his character arc. Oh but think of the depth, I hear you whine... Okay. Fine. There's depth, but it's just feeeeeeeeeeeelings.... I shouldn't be surprised. It's the CW's specialty.
Is it just me or does Lana have only one outfit in this show? Wardrobe department. Get on that.
Ultimately, this show is for those who want a 'Clark and Lois and family show'. There just isn't enough Supes to keep fans interested. It's Blandsville, Tennessee. DC just continues to ruin it's own product. If it's not a Batman show about everyone else other than Batman, it's this tripe.
I'm willing to bet the only people that really think this is a 9 or 10/10 show are the people posting ridiculously positive reviews on here. I hope all 10 of you enjoy it. I'm done.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: New World Order (2021)
Interested to see where it goes.
The opening action sequence with the Falcon was excellent.
I loved that Sam gave back the shield... He isn't Cap. He's the Falcon. And the opening scene showed us what he does best. Fly and kick ass! Great to see George St Piere again. I didn't expect that. And wasn't it refreshing to see a competent bad guy for once. A real challenge for the good guys.
The scenes with the Winter soldier were interesting. It's good to see them delve into his forced 'evil' past and have him attempt to make amends.
The blip stuff was the worst part about End Game and i'd wish they'd drop it. But it appears they want the MCU to continue with this thread.
This pilot makes me optimistic this will be better than the craptacular fromage-fest Wandavision was.
Best superhero pilot i've seen lately. Hopefully they don't ruin it.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005)
Hands down the best show on Television
In a world of tired tropes and cliche there's this oasis of originality. Absolutely hillarious. It teaches me how to be a good person, by being hillariously and stupendously awful.
Anyone that doesn't like this show is truly a Jabroni.
Superman & Lois: Haywire (2021)
'Guilt' is more powerful than Kryptonite
This episode...
Jordan isn't an ass hat this week because he's getting attention. Hooray!
Morgan Edge (Rich White man bad stereotype) makes poor Lana feel uncomfortable with the old 'You're so smart, you could have done anything you wanted, but you chose to stay in Smallville' Trope. Lana is so entitled that the compliment is too much for her to bear, and she blames her husband for it. Cause it was his fault somehow? Ridiculous. What a brat. Why is everyone an entitled brat in this show? God. Almost forgot it's cause it's on the CW.
We get more of Lois's 'nosey reporter who is always right' Vs Rich White man bad stereotype. Extremely tiresome.
Then the old, 'lets move a really big bad prisoner who will likely get sprung' Trope... Not overused at all. Ofcourse, he escapes because Superman is busy being a dad... Good god! Jesus, why don't you just leave James Bond in a totally escapable trap while your at it!
Lois goes to the town meeting where Clark is supposed to turn up to say something against Edge and be the second 'Nay' vs the rest of the town. This leaves Lois with only one trick left up her sleeve. Making Clark feel bad because she (a strong whamen that don't need no man) can't get it done by herself. Clark where are you? She sobs. 'You are my literal last chance at having a story arc in this show'. Sorry sweet cheeks. He's out being SUPERMAN FFS!!!!
Then later on, when he tries to apologise, she acknowleges she knows he's out saving lives, but it was 'Sooooo important' to her she decides instead to be a brat. This version of Lois does not deserve Superman. She goes on a guilt spiral attempting to take superman down with her.
'Guilt' on the CW is more powerful than Kryptonite. Maybe Morgan Edge should be mining some of that. In that case he could just kidnap and mine a ton outta the Kent/Lane family.
General Lane is the next to put Superman in a 'super' guilt trip for not being there to stop generic creepy guy from getting away from his inept guards. Great General. The power of the US Army isn't enough to move one prisoner? Absolute rubbish! At least Superman stands up for himself against the General. You're only allowed to stand up for yourself against men in power on the CW.
Then theres the old 'girls night out' where Lois and Lana drink to forget how horrible and bratty they have been to their husbands. Being the CW, I can't belive they didn't take the chance to get a toxic white male to sleazily hit on one of them, then have one of the ladies beat a 6ft 200 pound guy with one mighty punch of feminisim +5.
So the guy with the meta shakes is obviously a result of some Morgan Edge experiment I guess. Jordan sloppily trys to help, but because he sucks and is only Superboy lite, he fails miserably.
General (I need superman to do my shoelaces) Lane gives the boys a big wake up call to stop hassling Superman. Awesome. Best move this show has made so far. Then they completely undo it turning that guilt trip back on Lane. LAME!!!!!! From now on, I'll call him General Lame. Then Lois gets involved. Honour is 'Toxic'? Wow CW. You guys suck so much it's unbearable!
Maybe I've just watched too many shows? But the writers have to be just spinning the trope roulette wheel to write these plot points. This show is officially terrible, and people are giving it 9's and 10's??? I feel like i'm taking crazy pills here!
Superman & Lois: The Perks of Not Being a Wallflower (2021)
The whole show is about managing Jordans feelings.
Holy Trope-sville Batman!
It's getting worse... Told you the CW would screw this up.
This episode starts of with the old 'family having fun whilst doing a chore (painting)' trope. Jesus this is tired. It's soooooo fun to put paint on each other... Look how alive with pleasure they are! DUMB!
Jordan continues his 'Sookie Stackhouse Stormoffs' and continues to be a complete b-hole surfer. The old 'You lied to me so I'm gonna be an absolute a-hole until I get what I want' is used AGAIN and seems to be more affective agaist Superman than Kryptonite. Jordan is truly the antagonist of this show.
Lana's daughter is also a angsty a-hole. I don't even care what her name is. Probably why Jordan likes her. He sees a kindred spirit.
Lex Luthor from another dimension and 'Generic rich white man bad' Vs Lois Lane constitutes about 20% of the show. The other 80% is about managing the feelings of the worst kid that ever lived. Jordan. What an absolute hole puncher.
What the hell was with the indestructable dude? I was really hoping he was gonna open up his shirt and you'd see that green glow of kryptonite. Metallo!!!!! Alas, judging by the eye beam chick at the end, it appears to be just another 'cloning of Superman's powers' cliche. Random nobodies infused with powers obtained from one of Superman's rogue testicle hairs.
That brings me to another weak overused trope. The old 'kill the henchman that failed', then call someone on the phone and say, "It's done". Probably only the 458th time I've seen this used. Have the writers of this series thought about doing ANYTHING original? Other than focusing a Superman show almost entirely upon teen angst.
Good god. Who is this show for?
The people that are giving this show 10/10 are on the best kind of drugs. They are in a dream state, seeing the world through rose coloured glasses, but can still string sentences together. Amazing!
Superman & Lois: Heritage (2021)
Superman Vs Master Chief
So now neither Lois Lane or Clark Kent work for the Daily Planet? What is this nonsense????
Jordan must be the only 14 year old ever to be upset he can't go to school. He initiates the first of two 'Sookie Stackhouse Stormoff's' executed during this episode. Instead, he has to learn how to use his super powers with his father 'a living god'. What a ungrateful tool.
When Superman takes him to the fortress of solitude he continues to be an absolute duche nozzle executing the second 'Sookie Stackhouse Stormoff' after Jor-El say's he aint Sh#t compared to Superman. No Sh#t I say.
He is 'Super' annoying. Even his brother had enough in this episode to give him a reality check. Good to see him pull his head in afterwards.
The action sequences were fantastic in this episode!
Over all, I enjoyed this more than the pilot. Hopefully it stays on track.
Superman & Lois: Pilot (2021)
Mark My words. The CW will ruin this show.
I love superman. He's my favorite superhero. The only time they ever get him right is in cartoons and the old Silver age comics.
So, the CW wants to do superman as a father aye? The old cliche of the brow beaten husband by both his teenage kids and wife. Give us all a break. This is Superman. The greatest superhero ever created. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Please no. God no.
Overall, the pilot was not terrible. But only as far as CW standards go. Take Batwoman as a yard stick. That show is bad. Real bad. This was much better. However, it has the distinct hallmarks of the usual crap that ruins everything these days. Overused and terrible cliches.
The guy that plays superman is okay. But I can't get passed the fact that he was the bad guy in the first episode of 'Another Life' (worst tv show ever made) and Katie Sackhoff kicks him into electricity to his death. Double SPOILER!
They race swapped 'Captain' Lex Luthor. Because, ofcourse they did. Let me guess. He'll be from another earth dimension? Meh, at least he's appears to be a total bad ass. He is, after all Superman's greatest Nemises/ally from time to time. The fact that they have made him a POC means on this network, he will be nothing short of 'amazing'.
The most infuriating part of the pilot was the use of the CW and Netflix superhero cliche of 'You lied to me so I'm going to act like and absolute knob end for as long as I feel like it'. This the WORST cliche ever. Your father tells you he's superman and there's a possibility you may have superpowers and they both act like total jockeys. It would have been more believable that they acted they way they did at the end of the show when they found out their father was a living god...
Ofcourse, the 'a-hole twin' gets the powers. Awesome. Can't wait for super pubity to make him a super a-hole... Oh wait. It's already happened in the PILOT!!!!
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
Good episode. Bad show
Yeah, Overall a pretty bad show. 3 outta 9 epidodes were watchable. The rest was pure waffle.
This episode was pretty cool though. As I said with last weeks review. You could have just watched the last two episodes and you'd be up to date with the MCU. There was just so much fluff on the way there, it ruined it.
This should have been a pretty good show. The whole 'gotta give up the fake family' thing wasn't really strong enough to make it more than just mediocre. The villain was cheesy, in a bad way, and there just didn't feel like there were any stakes.
Wanda was the villain in this show. She kidnapped hundreds of people in the town forcing them to live by her rules and whim. But the show tried to play it off as the 'Sword guy' being the villain for trying to stop her... And he's taken to jail after 'Dr Do anything' Darcy drives into his hummer in a probable attempt to murder him. Am I taking crazy pills here? What was his crime? He only tried to stop Wanda, save the townsfolk, using whatever means he had. Team diversity just tried to stop him from doing it because White man bad... Pathetic.
Would have been better if Jimmy Woo acknowleged the middle ground of these facts... But instead, he's just the tool of team diversity for some reason. Smiling, and doing whatever he's told to do to be a good 'ally'.
Fake Vision beats white vision by talking. Dumb!
Wanda beats Agatha by doing magic she told Agatha moments prior she didn't know how to perform. Dumb!
Wanda's now more powerful than the sorcerer supreme? Great. Wouldn't want the patriarchy to be in power. Lame!
Monica Rambo needs higher pants. That weird suit she wore almost went up to her neck!
I really didn't care for Monica or her story. Don't care where it's going. Maybe cause it's now tied to Captain Marvel which again should have been a much better movie than it was.
The show just didn't do anything exciting. It built up to almost an origin story for the scarlet witch, but could have been done in a movie of 100 odd minutes without any fluff.
WandaVision: Previously On (2021)
Forget every episode up till now.
Watch this epoisode... And your caught up. The rest has been bloated crap.
For the love of god can someone give the Cheesball actress that plays Agatha the emmy for 'Best Overactor' and be done with it. Quatro Fromagio.
WandaVision: We Interrupt This Program (2021)
That woke me up
Forget episodes 1, 2, and everything up until the last 2 minutes of 3. They were utter crap and not worth anyones time. Wasn't even worth it for the set up.
But this... This is what we are all here for folks. The MCU is back baby!
Great episode.
WandaVision: Now in Color (2021)
Wake me up when it starts
This was another horrible cringeworthy episode of laugh track crap. The last two minutes (Before the 14 minute credits) were the only part worth watching.
Someone please wake me up when something of actual substance starts.
Lovecraft Country: Rewind 1921 (2020)
Back to the future - Racism edition.
This show has lost the plot. Literally. The gang goes back in time to the Tulsa riots... Probably the most dangerous time and place in Montrose's history to get the book of names. Why didn't they go back to a week prior when it was safe as houses? Cause the show needs to show white people being murderous savages.
How can they travel through time?
Luckily 'Doc' Hiopolyta can do anything... Because the script says so. She can fix anything because she spent 200 years doing what ever she wanted to do on Earth 355 or whatever. Even though most of this time was spent killing fictional white people throughout time, she can fix or do anything. She is genius level x 50. Gotta love a script that allows you to do what ever you need, whenever.
Hurt feelings between Tic and Montrose are actually resolved when Tic see's Monty's upbringing and what he went through during the Tulsa riots. This was actually quite well done. One of the best things they have done this season.
The bombing scene was absolutely ridiculous. I had to google the Tulsa riots to see if it was true. Some accounts have said it was... That's crazy.
Overall, not a bad episode.
Lovecraft Country: Jig-a-Bobo (2020)
Not great, unless you're here for the pandering
Could have been a solid episode. I took a star off for each unnecessary race baiting 'social commentary'. Plus another one off for the modern music which ruins the setting.
The duo dance troop 'monsters' were pathetic. It was so cliche it didn't achieve the creepiness it so desperately tried to create. Anyone seeing a supernatural horror in the last ten years would be bored of this trope.
There was 10 minutes of solid stuff in this episode. The magic and monsters were great. Alas, it is definately not the 8-10/10 most user 'reviewers' are giving it. Still waiting for the perfect scorers to advice what drug they are on so I can give it a go. What ever it is, it makes people see eposides of Lovecraft Country through rose coloured glasses.
Lovecraft Country: I Am. (2020)
I am Surprised
Surprised it took them 39 min to devolve into the race baiting nonsense this show so desperately tries to push every episode. A new record for this show.
Really though, the only gripe about this episode was that the space amazon's fro wasn't big enough. I mean, how can she pack that hair in that space helmet? Must be some sort of 'TARDIS' situation.
People giving this episode a 10/10 are on some good drugs. Please let me know what they are in your next 10/10 review episode for this show. Cheers.
Lovecraft Country: Meet Me in Daegu (2020)
Best episode so far...
But luckily they still managed to wedge in POC's being treated badly back home. Woulda been a shame not to be reminded of that even in the face of a war.
This show is so one note it is ridiculous. But at least they tried with this episode. However, after the last one, anything would be good.
Anyone giving any episode of this show a 10/10 is delusional. 10/10 is the best you'll ever see. This is far from that show.
Lovecraft Country: A History of Violence (2020)
Wokess-Malokess Abracadabra
This episode was pretty fun. If you like three protagonists yelling at each other for 90% of the episode. They argue about absolutely everything but still somehow move forward thanks to the script. We get it. They're passionate. 'Tropess Overdoness'!
Tic and Leti fight like wounded animals until Tic takes her in his sculpted arms and kisses her passionately. Straight out of a book with Fabio on the cover... Remember Fabio? 'Fabioso chicks-loveito'!
Again, I liked the fact that they are moving forward with the wizards and spells thing. But wow. Two Spirits? Yes that's right, they have a chick with a D in this ep. Dickversity for the win!
I don't know how they dropped the ball on this episode, but not one white person tried to kill them. What happened to all white people being homicidal maniacs? And black people had jobs in a museum and a department store? It's almost as if they actually want to represent the time period correctly. 'Wokess levi-no-sir'...
I have a theory that the Hitler youth wizard guy is just the white wizard chick. Reckon she's using magic to change genders. Do we ever see them in the same room at the same time? 'Gender fluidosis'!
Lovecraft Country: Holy Ghost (2020)
Don't 'Get out', Get woke!
Who's ready for the next round of 'Woke Bingo'? Get your cards out and get ready to start marking.
This episode was the generic old 'haunted house' story, but with a woke new trope twist. Peele 'style'.
Remember Eddie Murphy's 'Delierious' stand up where he said if he heard a voice saying, "Get Out!" of a haunted house he'd just leave? "To bad we can't stay baby." It was funny because it made fun of that old trope of white people in horror movies that wouldn't just leave when something supernatural happens... Then usually all but one die.
Well, in this one. Not only does Leti NOT leave the haunted house, she loses her virginity, and beats all white men coming. Both alive and dead. Take that Virginity, white people, and the patriarchy!
As usual, the only white people they come into contact with in this episode are homicidal maniacs that want to kill them cause they are black. Ofcourse these homicidal white men come into the house at the most dangerous time and get killed. Yay! Justice.
The show is really overselling the racism factor. It's 'cringe-tastic'. It detracts from the enjoyment and escapism the show should provide. This show has potential to be good. It really does. But it is currently just meh. I do like where they are going with the wizards and the 'language of Adam'. Cool premise.
Unfortunately looking at the first three episodes it's just boiling down to black vs white. If it want's to be 'Blacksploitation', it needs to get more fun and hamy. Currently, it's taking itself way too seriously. I feel like Peele, coming from a comedy background could really pull this off and get still get his message across.
HBO 2020 Woke Bingo checklist

* POC targeted by whites - Check

Lovecraft Country: Whitey's on the Moon (2020)
New drinking game
Okay. This episode was much better than the pilot. But it's extremely hard to take seriously when only one person is playing a believable character. Uncle George. He was the best god damned character and they killed him off? He was also the only one to pass his intelligence check against illusion. He will be missed.
Okay. So back to the drinking game. Have a drink anytime the following happens;
1) Protagonists disparage white people.
2) Race is mentioned. For any reason. Yes... This should come with a warning. WARNING : You WILL get drunk.
3) You see the whitest white people that ever lived. Like come on... White hair even? Jesus lord in heaven.
4) White people being racist.
5) Disciminates against women.
6) Tig takes his shirt off
Overall, this episode has really stepped up the Lovcraftian weirdnes factor. More of that. Less race nonsense. My kidney's can't take it.
The Flash: Duet (2017)
A bit of fun = Ruined
Oh, lets have a bit of fun with Supergirl... SPOILER!!! IT SUCKS!!!
Crossovers are your first mistake here. Then add musical? Double do do dude. Holy hell! No. No. No.
I love music and musicals, but it has no place here. Do what you like with Supergirl, arrow, and Legends, but leave the flash alone!
This episode made me throw up in my mouth a little.
Legion: Chapter 6 (2017)
Terrible waste of time
This was an awful episode. I have to concur with the other reviews that this episode was a complete waste of time. They could have done this in 10 minutes and moved on with the story, but no... they had to make us sit there watching more mental asylum crap. Enough already. We get it. He has a mental illness...
Aubry Plaza is a complete toss fest. Critics are claiming she'll get awarded for her ridiculous performance in this episode. The creepy guy with the perm has more acting ability in his scowl than she has in her left pinky.
