Disgusting,yet pretty...
16 August 2018
...is the best way to describe this movie, with MM and his usual perfection to his craft showing real life disgust of indulging in homosexual activities as a lifestyle. He is superb in this believable, powerful drama that somehow helped people get medical help. Watch.

Suspense,but....
16 August 2018
...with stunning views of 70's Vancouver beaches, mountains and architecture, this drama has great actors with a suspenseful plot, yet kind of slow. Still a nostalgia treat to watch that is family friendly.

Decent drive-thru fare...
9 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Keaton does a good job with presenting Ray Kroc as a mean spirited, dishonest, yet ambitious guy in this low value, high on sugar movie that will leave you fat around the middle for entertainment. It's more of a documentary about the growth of the empire, yet talks a lot about how to dream big and take risks.

The name GOLD is perfect.

Warning: Spoilers
It has suspense if you are a business person or a risk taker in the financial world. The exotic Indonesian scenery is well worth watching and the suspense of making then losing , then making money again is, as I said, good if you read the financial websites and invest. Otherwise, just enjoy the performance of Matthew as he plays a likable? , smarmy renegade risk taker who should encourage us all to expect more of life than a 9-5 job and benefits. This world is not for the faint hearted as GOLD shows us some risk taking is needed to make our lives count. Matthew left me wanting more of him.

Transcends movies
9 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Both lead actors were great in their reality of dealing with the dread disease. The setting of Cambodia fits in with the hopelessness and despair of daily life in that hell hole developing land. She plays the part well and is believable although her line of work suggests nothing to believe. This is a tear-jerker and not for people who squirm at moral turpitude. It also offers a hope that love wins out and plays to the knight in shining armor in most males to save a desperate maiden. I am ready to watch it again.

B-grade, but it is Tom showing upin a steamy location with decent plot
6 March 2017
Tom takes a mediocre movie and makes it good just by being himself. Selleck shows the potential of a future investigator on the screen by being curious as to the whereabouts of where the strange painting is and engaging B-grade movie fans into mystery and suspense. Manila as a backdrop for the movie, with it's Marcos era steamy, bizarre, Asian developing nation oddities, fits this movie perfectly. I saw this flick in 2012 for the first time and it shows Tom playing Mr. Robertson, who, with the chance to jump into a bed without his wife, takes the decent guy approach and rejects the lusty, craving broad, keeps his marriage vows and stays on course to locate the facts of the case. So fitting for his future roles as a decent role model in the 1980's.

The movie contains disturbing scenes for some viewers but also allows nostalgia buffs of 1970's shtick with an Asian twist complete with Selleck's character in a great car. I will keep the car color a secret.
