Borgen: Havets Moder (2022)
Unsatisfying end for two great characters
It was painful to watch to powerfully written characters reduce themselves in this finale. Their conclusion was to quit and move on? We were given eight episodes of people challenging, attacking, and back stabbing them. These two characters fighting to hold onto positions they earned. And they just rolled over and surrendered due to stress and empathy for the people that betrayed them. I feel like we are missing an episode. They need retribution. They need to be given the opportunity to have the last word. As it stands, the show could be summarized as two women fight and sacrifice only to realize that their health and happiness require them to surrender their professional ambitions.
Shingeki no Kyojin (2013)
It could be great
It's an incredible story. It's artistically dynamic and engaging. The monologuing is unbearable. It's always either melodramatic self-reflection or over dramatic self-aggrandizing hollering. It's a much better show when I fast forward through the monologues. They rarely reveal a plot point or advance the story.
19-2: School (2015)
Incredible
One of the best episodes of tv I have ever seen. The level of emotion and intensity was insane. Superb writing and even better acting. I was left stunned and exhausted when it was over.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Not very good
It's never a good sign when the plot holes and inconsistencies are the most memorable moments.
This would've been better (and shorter) if the movie only had one villain.
Industry (2020)
A solid B+
Entertaining, well written, and acted.
Each of the main characters were detestable in their own unique way. Same for most of the supporting characters as well but not as extreme. Only drawback is that we don't get clear reasons why the 3 main characters are so flawed. Why is Harper so self-destructive in every aspect of her life? Why is Robert so obsessed with Yasmin and so reliant on drugs & drinking? Why is Yasmin so vindictive, indecisive, and hypocritical? By the end it just became terrible people making terrible life choices.
Tiny Pretty Things (2020)
The w
One of the worst written shows on Netflix. Lots of people blame the acting but what can be done with a lines? The girl asks her mom (who is never introduced as a doctor) for pain pills and says "I'll be sugar and spice." The actors are beautiful. The dancing is beautiful. So you'll be entertained is you enjoy looking at either.
