Cruel Istanbul (2019–2020)

An Interesting Series

Before starting a Turkish Series I always check IMDb to see how many episodes there are supposed to be and to read the reviews, so I knew the crying going on in the reviews about the ending. But in spite of that i decided to watch the series.

First i will say I think the series is well written. The storyline stays on track and you don't want to skip through the episode. I will say there is a lot of crying but the writers are doing the Turkish customs for a death scene.

I actually think the story ends correctly and the actual ending is a good one. The writers finished the story well. Every episode made sense and carried into the next episode well. This story, as it is written, makes sense. It is not the happiest series i have watched but it does end correctly for the storyline and it is a good ending. I think i made a good decision to watch this series and i did not waste my time.

The writers lost me

I have watched all episodes to the finish. The writers lost me when the "affair" started. It was, in my opinion, a turn in the story line that was so unnecessary and I actually stopped watching the series. Then i thought i have spent so much time on this i may as well finish it. The first part of the series was interesting and mostly made sense. It started going down hill but i had hope the writers would pick up the pace again but.....i was very wrong. I liked the lead actress and the young child. I think the child was an exceptional actress and i hope she wins awards for her portrayal of her character. This little girl was the best performer in the series was the child actress. If you watch this series pleaseleave a review. I would love to have others opinions.

Ömer (2023– )

I like this series.

I like this series and i agree with the first reviewer it is a well written series. I disagree with the second reviewer about religious exploitation. In all religions there are people at both ends of the religious beliefs. Some people are not very involved in their religion and others go overboard with it. Read the Bible, probably in the religious writings of Islam also. I think the writers have done a good job showing all sides of the situation. I was raised in a Christian family that had strict rules. I can certainly see myself in Omer's character because i lived it. Not to the extent he has in this series but i can empathise for sure. I love my family, as Omer does, and i know they wanted the best for their children but as the old saying goes....you can lead a horse to water but you cannot force the horse to drink.

I have now watched 20 episodes and i have liked every episode. I think the script writers have done an excellent job, no skipping through scenes on this series because the script flows smoothly and has had no need for scenes to stretch things out. I think this series is worth watching.

Farewell Letter (2023)

Well written script

I have been watching Turkish TV series since 2015. I have enjoyed the actresses and actors and i have my favourites. I have never watched a series with this set of actors before but i have enjoyed their bringing this story to life.

This script is well written and all the script is viable to the story line. The music is very good in this series, as well. The chemistry between the actors is better than most also. I have not wanted to skip through any of the scenes in this series because of "Junk" that prolongs the scene and in actuality has very little to do with the story. I have now watched ten episodes of the fourteen available at this time and have found each episode very interesting, enjoyable and entertaining. Each episode ends in a way you are hooked and can't wait for the next episode to begin. I started this series when 13 episodes were available and have watched two or three episodes a day to catch up. That is how incredibly interesting the series has been. I recommend this series and hope you enjoy it as much as i have.

Her Yerde Sen (2019)

This is an excellent series

I have watched Furkan In several series. This series displays his acting abilities very well and is my favorite series of his so far. The screenplay is written very well and you do not want to skip parts of the side stories. The female leads part is a tad overboard with her anger issues and jealousy but that is no fault of the actress as i am sure her part was written like this I believe each actor and actress played their parts very well. I really enjoyed this series and do not feel I wasted my time watching it. The music and scenery was very good. I was impressed overall with this series and i would recommend you to watch it.

Bir Nefes Yeter (2017)

A movie worth watching

The reason i watched this movie was because it had Seckin in it. I had never see a movie with Turvana before. I was not disappointed by Seckin and i liked her acting also. I have watched several Turkish movies and series that "ended wrong". This did not end as i would have wished but i did like the movie. The actors were excellent in telling the story. Life is not always as we would've liked it to be but we deal with the cards we have. He felt he could not and would not live without her but in his heart he knew she would make it. I do love Turkish movies and series and i love watching them. Thank you IMDb for following the Turkish films for us. I use your information to find out the answers to any questions i have concerning Turkish series, movies, actors and actresses.

Bir Peri Masali (2022)

Very well written script

I have watched all 13 episodes and found the story interesting . The actors played their parts very well and brought the story to life. I did not find this series a waste of my time. In fact i think i like shorter series. I have now watched 10 or more short series. I find the shorter series keep to the storyline and there is no need to skip over the "junk". I am not Turkish so i do not understand why the Turkish people were not enthusiastic about the script but i believe as more people watch this series the ratings will be higher. I had read comments concerning this series on YouTube but i enjoyed it.

Golden Boy (2022– )

#1 Series in Turkey

This series is #1 in Turkey according to the Turkish reviews on YouTube. I like it and i think the actors and actresses are tops in their acting the parts. They bring the story to life. I believe this series is well worth watching. I like the music and the scenery. I have never see Mert before but he plays his part very well. He is a likeable bad boy. Afra, i have seen her act before, and she has become a much better actress. She plays her roll very well and I like the chemistry between her and Mert in this series. In this series his family has their problems but her family is much worse. She is a child, in this story, who is abused by her Father and neither her Mom or Aunt have what it takes to stand up for her or her sister. I hope this series has excellent writers and it continues to be as interesting as it has through 9 episodes.

Iffet (2011–2012)

Terrible writers

The actors in this series are are fantastic. The writers, you can see their names in the series detail, are terrible. I wouldnot hire them to write a receipt much less a script for a series. These writers have no grasp of how to write an ending.

By their writing disaster they harmed the actors in this series. The writers are the reason for the low ratings. The writers should be ashamed of themselves. This series could have won top awards but for the writers complete stupidity. If you read the comments on YouTube the complaints were about the writers not the actors.

Actually the writers started the screwup when they skipped five years. Then at that mishap there were to many loose ends and these loose ends were never caught up to complete the story. Therefore the ending made no sense.

Writers were great

This is one of the best written scripts I have seen. The writers left out the junk that is usually prevalent in a Turkish TV series. Every story within the series made sense and needed to be there to tell the complete story of the film. Usually in a Turkish series I fast forward to skip the junk, but not in this series. I certainly appreciate the script writers. I had never seen Engin act before but I enjoyed his performance, as well as the couple who played his parents. All in all this series is well worth watching. The writers tell the story well keeping you interested. The actors were all very good and played their parts well. I enjoyed this series very much.

Very Interesting Story Line!

Adam, a Catholic, is in love with Havva, a Muslim girl. They want to marry but their families go berserk. Adam's Father is a Catholic Priest from Ireland but Adam was born in Turkey so he has citizenship in Turkey and loves the country. The story begins with Adam's proposal to Havva. Adam told Havva he will solve this matter because he will become a Muslim. So as the series starts they decide to marry that very day. Then they go to the police station, where both families are, to tell them they are married. And so the War begins. As the family members are fainting Havva tells her Father she is pregnant, she really is not, as she believes her Father will accept Adam as her husband if her Father believes she is with child.

The storyline is interesting, funny, and keeps your attention. The actors bring the storyline to life. I liked the first episode very much. I will watch a few episodes before I officially give my rating for this series but the first episode was good.

I found the first episode very interesting. I am a woman working in an all men's world so I do relate. My interest was held when I saw the title of the series and I enjoyed the first episode.

This TV series has 31 episodes. Please correct your number of episodes listed. I research and use IMDb to get information before I start watching a Turkish TV series so I can be sure I see all episodes are available. I am starting to watch this series now. Thanks

In Spite of Love (2015–2016)

There are more than 12 episodes!

I always look at IMDb before starting a Turkish TV series to check out who plays what, how many episodes are in the series, what the reviewers feel about the series, details like that. Well I saw it was listed with 12 episodes so I checked to see if all 12 were out there to watch and I found 17??????? So I have now watched 14 of the episodes. So there is an error on IMDb's part on that. I do not know what the correct number is but I wish someone would check it out and post the number. My next peeve is the lack of pictures on IMDb of the actors. Pinterest has them everywhere so I know there are pictures available. Please fix these two items.

As far as the series goes I really like the series. It has a good story line, the actors are very good. At this point I would recommend it as a good series to watch. I hope it has an ending to match the rest of the series. It is a good series, well written, so far, and has great actors. Enjoy!!
