Tenet (2020)
I can't remember the last time I didn't finish watching a movie..
Half way through the movie and I had enough. Noland didn't bother to make the movie intelligent, mesmerizing, not even a little puzzling.. Instead it is just a bad (and unexplained) excuse to make a movie where half of it is played backwards. The acting is B level at best, the storyline a C and the writing is almost as terrible as the audio quality. Too bad.
Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak (2020)
Don't get your hopes up..
You read the the title of the series and think "uuuh just my kind of documentary", but the sad truth is that you will get overwhelmingly disappointed. All you get are a few life stories of Indian doctors and researchers, but no real information about the pandemic phenomenon, no infographics or animations - no nothing. Really uninspiring and a waste of a great concept.
The Secret (2006)
Garbage made only for the really gullible..
I'm not going to do an in-depth analysis of this book-selling propaganda, simply because it is not worth it. Rather just warn people that you will get nothing "life changing" or even remotely close to that, out of this movie. The general message is fine - stay positive and good things will happen to you, but that is the only positive thing I can say about that.
The rest is a smelly wave of fake desperate Americans trying to sell the dream like any other commercial product. Unfortunately I think this peace of fiction really reflects how sick our current society is. This ""DOCUMENTARY!?"" as Netflix calls it, is unintelligent, uninspiring and most of all a superficial piece of crap (excuse me) targeted at uneducated people (so naturally the US) who are naive enough to put their trust (and MONEY) in almost anything, as long as the pay-off is vast and effortless.
Honestly, shame on you for creating this absurdity and trying to draw parallels with great men like Einstein, Shakespeare, Newton etc..
This is purebred garbage.
Mars (2016)
Gave it 9, now hear me out!
It is absolutely true that there are quite a few questionable incidences, where supposed highly trained astronauts, undertaking the mission of their lives, don't really seem to be taking much schooling with them. An example of this would be the general lack of quick and clear communication between each crew member. Rather every line of inquiry is either met with prolonged hesitation, a vague response or sometimes straight up slurry ignorance. Also sweetie, could you maybe throw around a few more glow sticks before you hand yourself on a silver platter to Mr. mars mutant that must be waiting at the bottom of that endlessly black pit.
However!!!
The way the entire series is built, having a divided section with inputs from a long list of well renowned experts and enthusiasts giving ACTUAL ideas on colonising the red planet, is absolutely terrific. You also meet NASA and SpaceX employees that let you in on some of the things to consider when embarking on this mission. You really feel excited throughout every episode learning more and more about the real deal, while being deeply entertained with great effects and a solid story line on the other side. All that greatness in one show, allows me to forgive the obvious mistakes that occur once in a while. I am fascinated and in ore - well done.
Thanks for reading.
