Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent (2024)
Ashamed of this show from my home city
After watching the first 2 episodes I can safely say the writing is absolutely amateurish, I mean this is high school creative level content. Suspects are cleared so casually while villains fall apart at the first whiff of suspicion.
However, this is nothing compared to the disastrous and never ending stream of talentless actors that are inflicted upon the viewer. Characters lack even the most basic ability to play any role convincingly.
The two main characters, a walking encyclopedia of non essential trivia who would do better on Jeopardy and his female partner who's specialty is providing disapproving looks and eye rolls report to a person with one eye that appears to have its own planetary orbit. One can see nothing but that eye when she appears on screen. The murderer could come into the room kill everyone else and no one would notice because you cannot take your eyes of one of hers.
In summary, this show embarrasses anyone from Toronto as well as the the entire Law & Order franchise as it would not even be acceptable as a YouTube podcast let alone come from a storied franchise.
Someone from the master franchise needs to intercede and stop this ASAP.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
A step backwards but could have been worse
This is definitely a major step backwards and down from Peter Jackson's work. Dialogue seems forced, characters not that believable, acting mostly subpar.
Saving grace is the production value and cinematography which are both excellent.
As a whole, if you are a real fan of J. R. R. Tolkien's work you will find it is not at all true to the authors' vision and intent, you may even find the redirection of character development upsetting. If you have never seen the original movies or read the book you may find the cinematography and camera work worthy of your time.
To sum it up, another classic fiction book has been re-imagined to align with the current and new "Hollywood" stereotype.
According to Hollywood men would seem to benefit from having male shelters to avoid the beatings from women that we consistently are subjected to.
Upload (2020)
Loved Season 1!! But then came Season 2
Season 1 was interesting, fresh, mild and easy entertainment. Season 2 took a wrong turn, a hard left turn to be exact. It is so disappointing how people who were chill in season one become lunatics who feel murdering people because they are wealthy is perfectly ok, in fact it is their duty. It's like they all became ultra left wing terrorists over the break.
Brazen (2022)
Decent writing let down by acting
The writing is passable, even decent, however the acting leaves much to be desired.
Sam Page tries valiantly to carry the movie however Alyssa Milano was either not interested in acting in this particular movie or has somehow lost her ability to portray a believable character. I usually like her but her performance in Brazen is atrocious.
Not really worth the time there are better choices on Netflix.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Very realistic!
This is quite a good movie, well written and very good actors.
The movie is a very realistic interpretation of what would happen if Hillary was President.
Invasion (2021)
Poorly written but acting is even worse
The writing is abysmal, the acting pathetic.
Episode 1 to 5 is such a slow painful experience I stayed watching specifically to see if they could actually make an entire series without ever doing anything in any of the episodes.
The main female character relies on screaming hysterically for dramatic effect and a sad face for everything else. At episode 6 you start seriously hoping the alien life form will kill her off destroying earth perhaps but saving the audience.
It is here where I gave up completely and could no longer torture myself with this trash. How did Apple get roped into this? I understand the pandemic has hurt TV & film production, but you'd expect that even global nuclear war would not affect tv/movie creation this badly.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Star Trek Diversity
It appears to be Star Trek in an alternate universe where star ship officers prefer to hoarsely whisper in a urgent sounding manner whenever they talk about anything while simultaneous making strange faces as if they were constipated but really trying to get it out.
Their quest seems to be trying to find out how "The Burn" either killed all the white males or caused them to fall in love with racialized males. In other words, it is about a dystopian future.
The Misfits (2021)
If you are old enough to watch this you won't enjoy it
If you are an adult who happens to be severely mentally challenged you might enjoy this movie. If that is you, I highly recommend you get someone to help you press the on button to your viewing device and enjoy.
Bloodshot (2020)
The lower your IQ the more you'll like it
Acting is a little below average, action scenes are shot low-budget well, which means cheap and not great but acceptable. Writing is horrendous however, juvenile sub-teen level at best.
I'd give it 5 stars if it was less bloody and violent because a 13-year-old might enjoy this movie, but the violence level requires someone that is older than that yet it is too poorly done for a reasonably intelligent adult to enjoy.
War of the Worlds (2019)
More 2020 BS
Another all leaders are female and men are stupid and women are special 2020 politically correct piece of garbage. It's done in 50% English and 50% French but is 100% a waste of time. Drawn out and boring one gets the feeling they had a specific number of hours that they had to fulfill.
Away (2020)
Not a space story
It is a touchy-feely politically correct and extremely tedious and boring show.
Written to pound politically correct points home repeatedly with metronome like precision it may actually bore you to death.
Traded (2016)
poor writing poor acting
I love westerns, but this is really bad. The writing is really poor, but the acting is downright embarrassing.
It is hard to image people worked on this and then said, yeah, lets release this.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D (2020)
Jumped the Shark
Talk about Jumping the Shark!! Pitiful! absolute trash, they should have ended ths show a year or more ago.
The Blacklist: The Kazanjian Brothers (No. 156/157) (2020)
Please kill off Liz
This last one is almost unwatchable.
As for the corrupt, lying, crooked Liz, she is worse than Reddington. At least Reddington admits he is a corrupt thief. Please kill off Liz I can't bring myself to even watch an entire episode with her in it anymore.
Westworld (2016)
Season one fantastic, season 2 not so good, season 3 poor
This started out as one of the best shows on TV (well pay tv) so looked forward to season 2 which unfortunately was dull and mindless not to mention poorly written. Season 3, well this is the nail in the coffin, what a cliche waste of time, not worth the time to watch anymore apparently making shows that can perform year after year is more difficult than it would seem. Modern Family, Game of Thrones need to give lessons to other production houses.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Boring story telling, Picard is a mistake
This entire series is boring, and drags out needlessly while trying to follow the serialized path of the Game of Thrones but without the writing of a powerful story and book.
This Picard is but a shadow of his past self, a small, little, old, frail man that has no charisma or presence.
The other characters have no depth except for 7 of 9 , I could care if any or all of them are killed.
This series tarnishes STNG. I told my son that Picard was the greatest captain to ever command a starship and he sees this garbage!
I hope the Tal Shiar puts them all out of their misery.
Pandora (2019)
Crapola
Poor special effects, bad writing, even worse acting. Why does this exist?
Curvature (2017)
Worst movie I saw this year (2018)
Writing, acting, lighting, camera work are amateurish at best.Don't waste your time. Acting is, without a doubt, the very worst I have seen in a long long time.
The movie is about time travel, if only I could travel back and warn myself not to watch this.
