The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Pleasantly Surprised after reading all the bad press
Firstly yes I'd read a lot of bad press and I was fully expecting to fall asleep halfway through episode one but I decided when I watched it that I would put aside anything to do with previous Lord of the rings films books et cetera and just take this as a new adaptation of middle earth.
Visually this was very good I also found the characters although not Game of Thrones likable but nevertheless interesting and worth following.
Storyline is a fairly simple one and like I said before I just take this as completely new rather than look for all the plot holes therefore I probably enjoyed it more because of this.
Diversity wise I guess it ticked boxes, but like I said before it seems that these actors could actually act and therefore as I said in previous reviews it doesn't matter about the colour of the skin.
So two episodes in and I find myself looking forward to episode three and four on Friday.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Number one rule you've got to like the characters
Okay let's start with the basics story, So we have a King that dies and names his heir to the throne, And of course someone doesn't like it now that King has to name his heir to the throne and guess what someone doesn't like it....yawn same old.
Please don't get me started on the treatment of white men. It just seems to me that any white male in the show is treated as some sort of idiot or weak. Where are the Jon Snow characters that made Game of Thrones great, oh sorry, we're not allowed to have men looking stronger than women nowadays
But on top of that absolutely no likable characters in this and I can tell that's not really going to change, GOT episode one you did actually realise that you were going to like these characters but in the show I don't care if any of them die.
So basically no original story and unlikable characters obviously it's my opinion but I've seen the same review quite a few times on here.
And really 10 out of 10 reviews obviously people have never watched any TV before.
Prey (2022)
Yawn
Oh my God how boring is this is just trees Indians dogs and the occasional CGI kill nothing that we haven't seen before.
Why are directors writers and actors just so dull nowadays.
Diversity is killing movies And TV industry.
Arsène Wenger: Invincible (2021)
Kinda seen it before
Mostly uses footage from old season reviews with new interviews, no controversy moments really just a standard, this is how it was to what Wenger is doing now.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
Here we woke again
So I'm
Guessing the white man is a thing of the past, I'm guessing that because they had to make Pike a white guy they made sure they filled the rest of the cast, With women.
I was hoping the story would be interesting and exciting but instead I started reading the newspaper halfway through I think from now on I'll just stick with the original Star Trek which was diverse without being in your face and obvious about it.
2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
A proper street racing film
For me this was the best Fast and Furious film, Street racing scenes are awesome and it really does focus on cars and racing and a side story about drugs of course.
Unfortunately the rest of the Fast and Furious films were more spy espionage and less about Street racing.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
It's amazing how good a film is when you keep all the political agendas out of it
It's amazing how good a film is when you keep all the political agendas out of it.
This film reminded me of 80s and 90s action movies and Tom Cruise as normal is on top of his form.
It's been awhile since I've been to the cinema and not felt that I've wasted two hours of my life in fact this film felt particularly short because I was actually entertained for a change.
DI Ray (2022)
Where have all the characters gone
Morse, Frost, Luther, etc
This is what makes a good police drama basically interesting and likable lead characters.
Unfortunately other than ticking the diversity box, That's all d I ray has going for her.
But nowadays that's the only important part isn't it.
Dune (2021)
I fell asleep
If you want a movie to help you with your sleep this is it... welcome to Dune 2021 version
All I can say is characters are soo boring
Stop whispering to each other.
Cinema is dead
Rubbish actors with no personally
Rubbish directors that bore us to sleep
And writing and editing that confuses us all.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
Disney caring more bout merchandise than fans
So what was the point of final episode of Mano or the whole Luke training little baby yoda only for baby yoda to stick to fingers up at Luke and say Sod this I'm selling out.
The direction of this episode so bad, made me wanna just get Death Star to blow the whole planet up.
Wat about the guy who spins round 360 to look cool then fire his gun, absolute crap.
So many things to moan at ... 5 year olds could write a better script.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Wow they pulled it off
Well after the disappointment of season eight, With a new location and new characters plus the obvious brilliance of Michael C hall. Dexter is back and I can't wait to see the rest of this series.
Halloween Kills (2021)
Kills this trilogy
I'm a massive fan of this franchise but this film is far beyond a joke, I mean seriously the hospital scenes what were they thinking and I'm not talking about the bad acting but the writers producer director I have never seen so much nonsense.
I laughed at the ridiculous ending as well I mean I know he is a monster but even monsters can be killed.
They show a 23-year-old Michael Myers be knocked to the ground and arrested back in 1978 but in 2018 a whole lynch mob can stab him shot him Then all get killed by him in a flash.
If you're still interested in watching this film after reading my review and a lot of others then I will tell you now it is definitely money wasted.
I definitely think that Hollywood has become a joke terrible writing terrible directors terrible producers I'm pleased I got to see theatre and films back in the 70s 80s and even 90s but nowadays it's just absolute rubbish that keeps coming out.
I guess I will probably see Halloween ends but it will definitely be the end of watching those films after that I will just stick with the original Halloween and Halloween 2.
No Time to Die (2021)
Where do we go from here
Ok first thing first, it's not woke and The lady 007 is entraining Specially with Bond, however don't think could carry the films on her own.
Daniel was great as retired unretired Bond ....but scrip was a let down, kinda just watching half way though just to enjoy the moment rather than the story.
So after Bond became brook bond tea, where do we go from here, personally i say that's it and thanks for the memory's.
Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Just enjoy a fun action film
Prob not for harden Trekkies, but anyone who wants to enjoy a fun action sci fi movies this is great.
24: Day 6: 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (2007)
More annoying side characters
I really do like 24 but up to this season the Tom Lennox character just totally gets on my nerves and ruins the whole show not only is he completely disrespectful to the president, He is just beyond irritating I know this has been a theme throughout 24 but after six seasons it started become really tired some.
12 Days of Terror (2004)
It's truth, should b remade
This film is based on fact and actually has a very jaws feel about it, It's a shame it was made a TV movie as this could've been a whole lot better and I think it would've been successful to, Saying that it's very watchable and it gives you a very good understanding of where the ideas for Jaws come from
The Meg (2018)
Enjoyable with bite
Enjoyed it, really , Yes it was silly in places and unrealistic in others, but that is what I excepted, I wanted to be entertained and that's what I got.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Little disappointing
As a entertaining film, was ok. But as a story to a massive franchise, nothing really happened. A chase and three sub story's that go nowhere. And a boring and disappointing end to a famous character. Also why is this rated 7.4 and has mostly 1/2/3 and tomb raider is rated 6.9 and has lots of 7/8/9 scores.?????
