Blood of Zeus (2020)
Not the most accurate take on Greek mythology but you'll love it!
The series starts off slowly but somehow manages to hook you up and makes you feel wanting to know what happens next. I'll call this series a success just by this cause not a lot of shows or movies can hook you up from the very beginning. The series eventually gains it's pace and starts getting better and the final episode is a BLAST!The best part about this show I'd say is there's no unnecessary cliché moments in this, the story is always on point and is short. That's what makes Blood of Zeus a perfect binge watch.
P.S. as the title says it's not really mythologically accurate. The main protagonist Heron and his counterpart Seraphim and some other characters are made up.Its a different take on Greek mythology and Netflix actually admits it in the very beginning of its first episode. So,bottom line is if you ignore accuracy a little you are bound to love it!
Holidate (2020)
Same old romcom.. adds absolutely nothing new
Started off nicely but then god knows what happened.. unnecessary sexualised dialogues and completely uninteresting and useless side characters.what was the point of including king Bach in this exactly? .I watched it untill the end only cause of Emma Roberts (she's a goddess). This gets a 6 from me for the same reason. Otherwise it'd have been a 4 at tops.
Bulbbul (2020)
Story is dead giveaway but great visuals, performance, cinematography and aesthetics
The story is a dead giveaway you'll predict the whole story in just first 10 minutes but the best part is they were not trying to hide it.it's the same fairy tale but it'a beauty lies within its brilliant presentation.cinematography and acting. Tho there's a little twist in the middle and the end which was clearly stolen from Humayun Ahmed's novel "Debi" but still you'll love it. Another thing I must mention. The whole environment of the movie..BEST
Cinematography 10/10
Acting 10/10
Aesthetics 10/10
Overall 8/10
12 Angry Men (1957)
Brightest example of that PLOT is the most important thing of a movie
Hands down to the most well written movie I've ever seen. This movie is the brightest example of that the plot is the MOST important thing of a movie.the acting was superb.you can feel the tense atmosphere of the movie perfectly. And the anti racism message presented through the movie is really mind blowing considering its a 1957 movie.also they paid great attention towards the slightest of slightest details.i think it was amazing
A 10/10 for me.
The Departed (2006)
The perfect movie
I've seen a lot of movies.one of the cons of watching a lot of movies is that you start judging and turn into some kind of critic. You start asking questions like why this happened? how did this happen? Etc etc.so when I finished watching "The Departed" I started asking questions. And rarely enough I found answers to all these questions.
*Question #1: why did dignam leave when Quenan was murdered?
when Queenan was murdered dignam was the only one who knew about costigan.captain ellerby was incharge and from the first meeting scene in the beginning it is safe to assume that dignam and ellerby didn't go quite well with eachother.so dignam wouldn't tell anything about costigan to ellerby.ao when he was offered to take a paid leave.he decided to do that for the moment
*Question #2: why did costello trusted costigan so much?
Costello didn't trust costigan that much at first but he trusted french and French trusted costigan maybe partly cause of his uncle Jackie. Also Costello cross-checked whether he was the rat and he turned out to be clean.so when Costello and French both was dead costello's lawyer contacted Costigan as he was the closest person to Costello alive.a question might arise that why didn't lawyer went to Sullivan then? Costello knew Sullivan for a long time than he knew Costigan.well the answer is Sullivan was his mole rate in the department so he couldn't let anyone know about his connection with Sullivan.
*Question #3 : where was the 2nd rat all along the movie?
Costello maybe appointed the 2nd rat to keep an eye after Sullivan.that actually makes sense cause 2nd rate was Sullivan's classmate in the academy and he was also in his team later. In the movie theatre scene Costello seemed to be knowing about Sullivan's new transfer. How did he know? That's right..the 2nd rat
*Question #4 : How did Sullivan recommend Costigan to be awarded a medal of honour as we seen him deleting Costigan's profile from the database before?
One,there should be a way to recover deleted files. An if not Sullivan printed out his profile information on paper before deleting.look again.he didn't have any reason to delete the file. When he found out that Costigan knows he is the mole.he panicked and deleted Costigan's profile.its my theory
*Question #5 : How did Dignam know that Sullivan was the rat?
This bothered me for a while.then I remembered before his death Costigan gives madolyn a envelope asking her to open that only when he says or he dies. Maybe that envelope containted information on Sullivan being the rat and it stated to contact Dignam.so when Costigan died Madolyn contacted Dignam and then he knew.now if Dignam had all the proofs he needed to confront Sullivan, why did he shot & kill him himself? My theory on this is Dignam is a hot blooded detective. When he found out the rat who was also behind his colleagues' deaths he couldn't wait for all those legal procedures and trials and stuffs and decided to punish sullivan by himself.
10/10 the perfect movie!
The Prestige (2006)
Confused between 5/10 and 10/10
Damnnnn.. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman
And Christopher Nolan.. These 3 names are enough for a movie to come out as a great one! And it actually was throughout the movie until the very end..twist after twists..and the revealing of Borden's "the transported man" was unexpected..like the answer was Infront of your eyes all the time but you could've never imagined it..just Nolan things..
But.... there's a but yeah..the whole cloning machine sci-fi thing just ruined the whole vibe for me..I was expecting something phenomenal not some sci-fi crap(I love sci-fi just not on this occasion) ..and what about Hugh Jackman getting shot at chest and still blabbering unnecessary cheesy cringy **intellectual** dialogues for minutes?..like HEY! Why this Bangla cinema? And... although Borden was portrayed as the **hero** at the end I would have to say he wasn't..Borden & Angier both were the villains of the story.there's no hero to begin with..Borden just got the best of Angier at the end...
overall I enjoyed this movie untill the end part..so it's a 10/10 for me for most of the movie until the end part and 5/10 for the ending sequence.. overall rating? Do your maths.. I don't wanna do it myself
